Doug's offense regressed for three years, his solution, keep the same coaches and make no substantive changes.

You don't think he was totally out of his league last year?

I think the only reason they interfered was they were reluctant to fire him, both because they liked him personally, and because of the SB win. So they tried an intervention.

I think in one sense Lowie are happy to have the SB behind them, makes it much easier to clean house with a new HC.

Doug's offense also regressed as the roster around him crumbled... you don't think that Howie lost complete control of any type of fiscal responsibility during that same time?

Lowie are the ones giving out the big money to these older veterans... and hamstringing future moves... Brooks, Lane, Alshon.... all paid for their past, not their current level of play and certainly not their future levels.   Adding Desean had nothing to do with the Super Bowl... again, paid for past performance, not who he was when they brought him back.   They wanted to extend Ertz... and thankfully he turned it down, or else they'd be hooked to him too.  They keep bringing back Corey Clement... even though he's not been close to the guy he came in as in 2017 since he was injured in 2018.

Howie is supposed to be in charge of the 53 man roster... and he's let it turn into old, holey Swiss cheese.    But, let's pile on Doug some more.  He's 100% to blame.  Howie was just doing Doug's bidding.  :peng:

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Which is what he wanted, he quit.  It’s no different than your wife telling you to stop banging the neighbor, a week later you’re still at it, and she gets a divorce.  Doug had a choice, he just didn’t give a crap

The team regressed for 3 years and now that I know Howie has control of the 53 I know why

Honestly. People need to take a breath for a second. Don't overanalyze a press conference.

I'd have to agree, Its his first PC in one of the toughest markets in the world media and fan wise.

My first impression wont happen till week 1 of the reg season. Thats all I care about. He could come on every PC and tell us to go F our shelves. As long as I see fun/productive football and see the team moving in a positive direction Im good.

When you have guys fellating water bottles, talking about biting people and have gifs of them staring at an imaginary taco, coming out of a PC and the main take away is "he's nervous" is a good thing, imo.

Thank god Brian Westbrook is on the radio making sense about the PC.

People need to calm down.

Yup

We can always hire him a PC coach.  May I suggest

Well yeah, but whether or not Doug deserved to be fired is a totally different discussion on if Lurie and Howie are control freaks are not. They clearly are. And there are plenty of other examples as well like Lurie pushing to draft JJAW and Howie going against the advise of all his personnel people and going rogue and taking Hurts.

There was a time where Lurie was not so. I think the failed Chip experiment put an end to that. He felt he needed to be hands on more often.

Don't know what to believe from coaches and this FO anymore 🤷‍♂️

I can help you...   They will say whatever they believe will leave them looking better in the public eye.   Doug had to say it was his call to move on, or else he is exposed as being a gelding as the HC.   But, when he spoke and said they were back, but the brass above him didn't agree... he had to backtrack.  It might have been his call... they go or you go with them.  But, that seems unlikely.   They told him what to do, and he complied.

And Lowie wants their decisions to fall on the shoulders of Doug, because then they can distance themselves from every failure and pin them on him, leaving them safe from criticism... and some people *cough* afan buy it and try to sell it to the suckers.

Calm down about what? I don't think anyone is calling for Nicks head.

Is anyone else seeing a bunch of repeated posts or is it just me?

Dude, GM's across the league have the final say on the 53 man roster with input from the coaches.  I am not sure where the narrative came from that coaches have final say on the 53 man roster.

One of many great moments by my guy Dougie Fresh. Man I’m going to miss that guy.

At the end of the day, the GM has final say.  If reports are true, he took the staffs advice and took Reagor over Jefferson.  So do you want the GM to have final say or not.

Okay, but that doesn't change my point.

Also very nervous

If you think it's not funny now wait until you're my age

13-3

2-14

I don't think any rational Eagle fan can be happy with any of  Howie's more controversial  decisions, knowing he gets no accountability....I don't know why he gets such a clean pass on everything....rhetorically speaking...I do know the reason.

It's the dumbest thing. The majority of GMs have this.

I would still prefer firing Howie, but him having 53 control is not a reason to do that.
