The reporters were a little caught off guard by how short the press conference was, but let’s be honest, this offseason is all about Wentz and how he’s handled. And the casual fan cares far more about that than his use of analytics.

Bo Wulf was going to ask him about the youth of his staff but he wasn’t called on.

The Eagles having Lurie filibuster for 20 minutes and having Sirianni give a meandering monologue wasted a significant amount of time.

I was hoping someone would ask which way the Defense would lineup 4-3 or 3-4. We probably wouldn’t have gotten a straight answer but wishful thinking I guess

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

In journalism school, you’re taught that if the interview subject doesn’t answer your question well enough — whether it’s a non-answer or too vague — you ask it in different ways to get a more well-rounded and in-depth answer. You don’t let the subject off the hook after one question on the biggest topic of the press conference.

I’d even be more comfortable with Kyle Trask.

Well, we do have the QB coach who "made' Trask, so we'll know his strengths and weaknesses.

If he fell to where he was the BPA, wouldn't surprise me if they took him and then traded Hurts to a team that uses the RPO on a regular basis.

Eagles aren't worried about 2021, so they can take the long view.

I know, I called them out on that yesterday. They should have just let anyone with a question get one in, or at least do more than 30 mins. Instead they just tried to hide him.

Absolutely. They waited a week to do the press conference and then limited it to one hour while filling the first half with monologues.

This isn’t a word is the media point either, but they owed it to the fans to answer more questions. In non-pandemic times, the press conference might be shorter, but they’d meet with the coach in a smaller group afterward to answer more mundane details like 4-3 vs 3-4, analytics vs gut, etc. Instead, they limited his session and didn’t even get all the questions in. It was a S show by the Eagles.

And for Lurie and Howie to not answer questions was pathetic.

He had 1, I'll repeat that, 1 good season in college. that one season was also a crazy season where half the teams and players did not play. Im not impressed. Im not putting all my chips in on a QB only playing one good season with a * next to it.

Joe burrow had 1 good season

No QB in the draft has Wilson's arm talent and ability to make ridiculous throws, with silly arm strength, extremely accurate

For those loving Trask, remember he basically had Shaq playing TE, a grown man playing with kids, who also doesn’t drop passes, ever!

If you’re not impressed with Hurts arm strength you’ll really hate Trask, guys like him fail in the NFL because he doesn’t put velocity on the ball.  So forget throwing into a tight window so to speak cause he’ll get picked off all the time.  Unless he’s as accurate as Watson, another noodle arm, Trask is a 3rd or later pick for a back up.  Throwing a deep ball and throwing a hard 15 yd slant take two different talents, Trask only has one.

He also only started 1 and 1/2 seasons. He actually played well the year before only starting half the season. Much diff then playing 3 seasons as a starter and only 1 good year. Joe also did it on a reg full season, not a Covid year where a lot of teams and good players didnt play. Joe also played the top teams and won a big shinny trophy against the elite teams on his back. Who did BYU play worth a dam? lol. Its like comparing Apples to a Ferrari.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses

Wilson is a big time talent, top 10 pick.

Sure, but he said he didn't watch the tape, then ESP asks "based on the tape, what do you think of Reagor".

IMO it's less about how much time is given and who gets to ask questions.

There's going to be a number of those types in this year's draft and those that had 1 good year last year, then took this year off.  Buyer beware.

I’d take Pitts here in a heartbeat.

Facts are not excuses. Im sure he will be a top 10 pick but not because he deserves it. QBs always go quick. We can name more failures then successes in the top 10 cause of it.

But let’s be honest, he did watch some tape, and then he talked about watching him as a draft prospect.

But, yeah, ESP sucks.

Knowing they wont answer, all that serves to do is annoy them and waste time getting the same non answer

I’ve been there as a reporter. Sometimes it does, but many times you get more information.

Denver is my sleeper. Seams like a Elway type of guy.

SF and Indy would certainly have the cap soace

IMO, he should have said "I watched the tape, but haven't done it with my staff yet, so can't comment on any player evaluations". Done.

Howie likes guys who drop passes in college  like Reagor, j/k, sort of.    He scares everyone with that TE designation, and if he somehow runs 4.45 or less he may go top 3.   Megatron ran a 4.38 which is disgusting considering how big he was, I don’t see Pitts being that fast. He’s not as explosive as Johnson but he definitely has better hands out of college, granted Trask is throwing soft toss.

With a decent QB Pitts at a minimum will average 65-70 catches 7-800 yards and 10-12 TD’s every year.

ESP is a waste... which is why they called on him.
