Trading down is the correct move 90% of the time.

Been preaching this for years. I thought last year the move to make was actually trading down out of 21. As soon as the Eagles didn’t like Justin Jefferson( which was ridiculous) they should have maximize the value of that pit. There were plenty of teams behind them willing to jump and leapfrog the vikings to get Justin jefferson and would’ve given you something of value to do so. They didn’t maximize the value of that pick.

I agree.  But only way you'd actually draft a TE in the 1st is if you feel he's going to be the focal point of your offense.  I wouldn't do it either.

I think 6 of his 7 receptions vs Bama were when he was used as a Wide Receiver.  Finished with 7 catches for 129 and 1 TD

I get where you're coming from. Howie is unpredictable lately. I guess I'm looking at any and all scenarios. I think GB and NE would be on that list as well. I know GB as Tonyan but I did see reports they were interested in Ertz. I guess we will see what happens

As much as I like Daboll The assumption that he will just come to the Eagles over other teams I think is overlooked. To me, the Chargers have Justin Herbert. Play in the same division as the Chiefs which hurts that job. You also have the Texans with Deshaun Watson. What hurts them is lack of draft picks in this draft. I think the Eagles job is one of, it not the, least appealing jobs out there for a coach. Between the cap situation, control situation with Roseman/Lurie, and questions at QB, it can't be high. Chargers job is far and away the best one out there. QB is set, good skill players, solid defense, and a team that traditionally drafts pretty well. And you're in the LA market for whatever that's worth. Houston has no picks, but Watson is an elite talent level QB and is your guy there. I think it's Philly and Detroit as the two worst options out there. Even worse than NYJ and JAX.

We had the discussion yesterday there’s like no top 10 tight end that has really lived up to that billing in the last 25 years. There’s been some first round tight ends who have managed to do that like Tony Gonzalez but really there’s very few that live up to the draft selection in the first round. It’s really like shockey and Gonzalez

It's not the popular choice and no one here agrees but I would love Pitts in the 1st...if you trade back and get another 2nd..and if you trade Goedert for a 2nd and 4th...and you trade Ertz for a 4th

I'm probably going to get some heat for this but I'm not 100% sold on Chase, yet.  Everyone assumes he will have the same success Jefferson has had in the NFL but I'm not convinced that it's a given.  I really want to see what he looks like at the combine, then go from there.

I do not disagree with you. It’s part of the reason why I think the Eagles are making the decision this year not to move on from a coach. I think even if they suck next year at least going into 2022 you can make the case that they are going to have better cap space situation and likely high draft picks if we are bad again. 

Again even if they’re bad next year the situation heading into 2022 is better optically then being 60 million over the cap and a qb dilemma that’s unsolved. My belief is if they suck next year with Wentz or hurts being bad then you’re likely going to try and get a quarterback. So if I’m a coach coming in I get to select the quarterback I want and probably going to be in a position to get one relatively high because you’re probably not very good if we are making a coaching and FO change.

He's looked fine when he's been in but in a lot of games, he's getting worked on, on the sidelines, etc.  And tbh, who knows how much of his snap count has to do with Duce.  Doesn't Duce have autonomy over the RB rotation? 

I think we should temper expectations of a trade back from #6. Look at the history of trades in the 1st round top 10 of the last few drafts.

2020: no trades.

2019: #10 moved back to #20

2018: #3 moved to #6. #7 moved to #12. #10 moved to #15.

2017: #2 moved to #3 (LOL). #10 moved to #27.

2016: #1 moved to #15. #2 moved to #8. #8 moved to #15. #9 moved to #11. 

Add in the fact this is a strange year with COVID which could potentially make teams less likely to trade, and I think it might be easier said than done. #3 through #5 could be the sweet spot to trade back from if someone is trying to draft Sewell or Wilson. After the top 5, there might not someone willing to move up.

Kyle Pitts is probably the only wrong pick at #6. 

Hope we destroy the Giants next year.

I hate all 3 division rivals but they just jumped to #1.

I love Chase. He's more of a physical route runner then Jefferson. I'm not trying to take anything away from JJ.
