If he played in 2020 he would be a top 5 pick in the draft.  I still think he ends up going in the top 10 despite not being there in mock drafts.   He is my top preference for the Eagles' first round pick.  20 years old, 6'7 and has the production and clear flashing talent to go along with the elite measurements.  He would give the Eagles a player they can build around for the next decade like they have with Cox.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

The overly rigid WR definitions are part of what sank Doug’s offense.

The Rams WILL be the Jaguars in 3-4 years.  And that's probably happening with or without the Stafford trade.  Trading for Stafford just maximizes their chances of getting to a SB in the meantime, which I bet happens.

Do they stand any chance of beating the Chiefs once they get there?  No, not really, but any given Sunday or whatever.

I’m curious to see what the niners do at QB. If they get watson i think they are the team in the nfc. I think the Rams are up there and their offense is much better with Stafford compared to Goff. Also curious to see how they adjust to losing Staley to the chargers. Ditto with the niners losing saleh

No matter how you want to define it, the bottom line is you better have a WR who can beat press coverage. That guy can be your X.

With Reagor, even at max potential, you want him getting free releases to avoid physical DBs at the LOS.

But Reagor is strong! He does 1,000 push-ups daily!

This is what some people said about Reagor facing press after we drafted him. 😒

Was never a fan. Of course once he's on the team you have to try and look for the positives, that was one of them. Still, I don't think he's ever going to be worthy of his draft slot and i'm sure Howie isn't ready to have any more egg on his face with failed draft picks so I'm expecting Reagor to be around awhile as a starter

Point being, you don't win at the LOS as a WR with strength. TE's can. Not a small WR. It takes technique.

I don’t remember that but i remember there was plenty of us saying taking him at 20 and expecting him to be a day 1 starter was a mistake. He wasn’t as polished coming out of TCU. And the pandemic was going to hurt him unlike some more polished receivers. Some of the things we saw this year where he was lazy on a route when the ball wasn’t coming his way or just not good routes consistently were things Daniel jeremiah talked about before the draft on 975. To me the eagles plan was completely idiotic to just rely on an injury prone desean, JJAW who needed a full offseason of activities (even then it wasn’t a given he’d be competent), ward and 3 rookies entering the season. Even Goodwin wasn’t a good solution that guy is always hurt too and hasn’t been good since 2017. So i guess he’d also fit in with the eagles wrs

It’s not like it’s impossible for him to be good at beating jams, and his strength certainly helps, but with speed guys you want them to get into their routes quicker so they get to top speed quickly. The easiest way to do that is moving them into the slot or off the LOS.

He did have a labrum tear and underwent thumb surgery. He needs all the reps he can get, and he missed a lot of time.

Strength certainly helps. Not as much as footwork, but it helps. You’re not always gonna win with footwork so if they get their hands on you, you better have a counter.

Yes we lost the SB to the crappy Raiders. Tech it was 81 but it was the 1980 season, lol.

Who did we draft in the first round when we lost to the Patriots?

I thought 49ers gave Jimmy a huge contract recently

Ah I love watching basketball nowadays.  Takes a half hour to play out the last 30 seconds of a game.

Is Shawn Andrews any worse or better than who we drafted in 1980?

Contract is easy to get out of this offseason. His cap hit is 26.4 million. To release him it’s 2.8 million dead money and 23.6 million cap space.

Mike Patterson.

Got Herremans and Trent Cole in the later rounds that draft.

Nope. Patterson was 2005 draft where he was selected 31. Andrews was the offseason the year we went to the super bowl in 2004. Thats where there was a lot of people who wanted Steven jackson on the emb and not Andrews. Fun times

I believe we drafted Reggie Brown in the 2nd round that year as well after we traded AJ Feeley to Miami. After his rookie year, I thought he was gonna be a very good receiver for years to come. Nope, fell off a cliff.

Reagor's max potential, theoretically, was as a blazing fast WR with excellent strength who could run all the routes and beat press coverage.  That's a fit at X too.

Then he put on the pads as a pro and we saw his routes are bad and his speed isn't quite as advertised either.  The game needs to slow down for him with a simplified route tree, so it's Z for now.  If he doesn't make some strides, then it's to the slot he goes, per usual for Eagle WR draft picks.

Yes, the X needs to be able to beat press coverage.  But there are plenty of WRs who can do that besides 6'2" 210lb possession guys who run like TEs.

I didn’t say they had to be 6-2, 210 pound possession guys. I said they had to be able to beat press coverage. That isn’t Reagor’s game.

Like with most speed receivers, you want them off press coverage for obvious reasons.

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of QBs contracts are more team friendly than Wentz but when his was signed it was celebrated as a great contract

Tough to compare two players in completely different positions in two completely different eras of the game.

Trying to see what your point actually is here?

You didn't.  The Eagles did.

if wentz played like he had at the end of 2019 and 2017 that contract would be a good contract. It looks awful cause of how bad he looked last year and with the QB numbers rising if they waited til after 2019 with how he finished the year it might have actually been worse. Granted they could’ve used his 5th year option then. But i doubt they do that with how he finished the season. Then you have a dak issue on your hands if he actually played well in 2020
