Posted something similar last night.  He's been in the league a decade.  He's had plenty of help around him but at some point, if you're an elite QB, you should carry a team.  He's done none of that.  The Lions got an absolute steal of a trade.

I'm not denying his talent, and it's clear that he's a good teammate, but he's had more than 1 opportunity to carry that team on his back with solid weapons.  He tends to make some big mistakes if the stage is just a little bit bigger as well.

That being said, I'm interested what he will look like with McVay as his coach.  I hope he falls flat on his face, because that would make me laugh at LA fan(s) even more.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Stafford top 10 QB, probably 10 but still.

This is all the confirmation I needed that he was overrated.  Thank you for your reply.

One unfortunate result of the Stafford trade...

When you combine team talent, draft assets, and cap space, the Eagles probably have fewer assets/resources than any team in the NFL.

Even Houston has us beat there.

What are you talking about? Less fantasy football = less interest in other teams which means lower viewership. I guess this conversation if done then if all you have to say is "you’re a troll”. We tried.

 please tell me why COVID makes less fantasy football? Again, people with less things to do than normal, sitting at home, need something to occupy their time, so they say, you know a usual fun distraction is Fantasy football, but because I cant go to the restaurant, or the bar, or other fun things, I'll stop doing fantasy football, and not watch Football? And this makes sense to you?

Lets just say we will agree to disagree. Cuz I'm done with this, I cant seem to follow your liberal use of logic.

And that is not just an NFL issue.  Overall TV viewership, and people having cable and satellite declined during that same period.  There is also no true way to track NFL viewership accurately, people go to bars, go to their buddie's house who has season ticket, and there is tons of ways to illegally stream.

Thanks to VPN, no one can figure out where my millennial daughter is streaming her TV from.  I don’t trust the ratings anymore

Biggest thing a Sirianni regime could do to help this team is to do something to prevent more injury devastation. Doesn't matter who they draft at 6 if that player battles injuries all season.

So what coaching positions need to be filled by Siri... Howie?

Fantasy football numbers dropped. I guess you’re playing in the free leagues. For me personally, I did not want to play in any of my money leagues cause Covid added too many variables. I didn’t want to put in $100 to lose because Lamar or Mahomes caught Covid. So I just sat out this year.

I'm not following along in the overall argument, but personally, fantasy football fell off big time for me this year. Everyone was scared to invest money into it with the concerns of canceled games/season/players getting COVID etc. Usually I'm in a couple of money leagues, this year I was in one low stakes and one that switched to no money "for fun".

For those of you who want us to draft Pitts at #6 overall because he's the next Darren Waller, I'll allow you to google in what round Waller got drafted at.

6th overall

This sounds very familiar!  I'd agree we have had a much better run game (or the actual threat of a run game), but this season it obviously proved pointless since we didn't use it.

That’s true. However i went through this exercise a couple weeks back. Go look at the lions offensive lines over the last 11 years. It’s been really ugly outside of a couple of seasons.  And by couple i mean like 2 maybe 3. The eagles have had poor to really bad OLines in 2012 and this past year. Even 2019 they were massively better than what the lions have consistently had. It’s great to have excellent receiving threats but that doesn’t matter all that much if your OL is bad.

To be fair to Stafford the Lions got screwed hard in that playoff game back in 2015. This was clearly PI and the flag was picked up. They should have won this game.

I don't want to draft Pitts to be the next Darren Waller.  I'd draft him to be the next DK Metcalf.  I'm not saying he can do that.  That's what it would take for me to be interested.

Give me the 10 you think are better. You can probably throw out 15-18 QBs easily

Are you agreeing with me?  I can't tell.   In no particular order, I'd take all these guys over him.  I'd also take Carson 2017-2019 over him as well, but I'll leave him out just so I don't wake up the hibernating trolls.

Mahommes, Brady, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Tannehill, Lamar, Rothlispuke, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Drew Brees, Dak, Matt Ryan, Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield (and I hate him), Kirk Cousins.  I'd also rather have Justin Herbert right now, but that's tough for me to type after only 1 season.  I'd probably take Rivers and his family of 19  if he didn't retire.

That's 15 right there.  I'm happy to eat crow if he lights it up in LA this season, but I just never saw it with this guy.

Don’t forget dez running onto the field like a moron and not getting called for a flag after doing so and berating an official

Mosher said on his pod that as of Sunday night Moorehead still doesn't know if he's being retained to coach WR's. No one's really sure why this is dragging out so much.

Cap number goes from 8.4 million to 10.1 million if he is cut.  NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

I think he’s likely 11-12. But i wouldn’t take Big Ben or brees today over Stafford. Both of them imo are done. Cousins i wouldn’t take either. The vikings the year before cousins got there won 12 games with Keenan and then have seen a drop with cousins 2 out of 3 years. And he’s had weapons and solid oline. i don’t like mayfield either. Based off age you could make the case for home however if i put Stafford on the browns and mayfield on the lions I’m guessing Stafford is able to win the way mayfield was. I think hunt and chubb are what stirs that drink. The rest I agree on. Those 4 I’d actually take Stafford over at their stages of their career or just overall.

I could sere them trading Kelce to KC to join his brother if he wanted that, but they'd expect some draft pick compensation.

It would be a favor to Kelce, not to get rid of him.

He's a TE.  Assuming he can transition to WR based on his size and ability is not worth being drafted in the 1st much less #6 overall.

Go look at any highlight clip on youtube.  More than half of the time he is lined up as a WR.  Not saying we should draft him, but he is more than an inline TE, and he dominates when lined up out wide.

I know if I were gonna go get Moorehead, I would not let it drag out.  👀

Same if he is traded.

So what you are saying is he hasn’t "caught” on to the staff yet.......... sounds like the eagles are running a poor route to their WR coach

While the Eagles were as ravaged by injuries as ever in 2020, the rest of the NFL caught up to us.  Most teams in the NFL got crushed my injuries.

There could be a learning point there.  Doug has been notoriously soft in camp and practices.  That's a rude stressor on the body to go from shrink wrap to 60 minutes of full contact football.  In 2020, every team was forced into that same cycle...and nearly every team has more injury problems than usual.

A more gradual escalation into contact versus flipping the switch might reduce injuries.
