How do you guys know he didn't welcome the coach or coaches?  Because he didn't post on social media?  In the press conference the coach made it clear that he has had communication with Wentz and Wentz has also had communication with the offensive coordinator.  Do you think Wentz didn't welcome them to team in their phone conversation??  LOL  Or you just mad because he welcomed him in private and didn't post it on twitter for everyone to hate on and pick apart?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

NO.  Someone pondered if he would take questions and I said, of course he won't.  And we all wanted him to shut up after 10 minutes.  Good try though.

No, people also complained that he and Howie left Sirianni out there to answer for them. I believe the term was puppet.

There's alot of entitled **** around here.  If he didn't do it their exact way, he didn't do it correctly.

He didn't post a video of himself popping out of an oversized cake wearing a sash that says "Welcome Coach!" while singing "Let's hear it for the boy" so he obviously is a cancer and hates Philadelphia.

Geez, I pictured him dressed as a cheesesteak with wiz in special places.

I really don't get it.  To many people think the players on an NFL team owe them something.

TATE'r " Carson didn't welcome the new coach on Twitter for me to see it "

Goodness... I come back after 3 days away from this place and in the span of about a dozen posts, find someone worry of the ignore list.

I've thought about taking a break from this place. The Wentz haters are really killing it for me. Say one nonnegative thing about Wentz and they come swarming

I always liked his attitude but his play sucked. Maybe the new coaches on defense can do something

Meh, he's a free agent, they should just both move on imo. He'll be 27 in 2 months and closer to the wrong side of 30 by the time they are ready to compete.

Your last point is the big issue.  There is no way in the world, he hasn't looked at tape.  That was his coached stock answer that Lowie gave to him.  Which is weak and pretty sad.  GM's having final say could be standard (I don't buy it).  But Howie is not a standard GM.  He is not a player evaluator....period.  Regardless of how much Lurie tries to endorse him as such.  It's insane to think this current structure will work.  He didn't hit the right marks.  8 days to prepare and he came off very scared and aloof.  That's how Lowie likes them though.  Happy to be there, rah rah guy until he wants more power...

If he answered the Wentz question with more conviction and hell......lie to us...  But to simply say, "I can't talk about that".  Their public relations team did a crap job of getting him ready.

Sorry, I misremembered your post. I thought you said your last "post” instead of point. My last post in your quote was about Andrew Brandt saying Sirianni was forced to answer questions that should have been answered by Lurie and Howie, which I 100 percent agree with.

reminded me of that scene in the show the critic where the father pops out of the cake

Well now if he doesn’t do that then I’ll be disappointed.

One nugget from Lurie’s interview with Spads is that multiple coaches during the interview process said Gannon was their DC target.

To be fair, the complaint was that he got to go on a 20 minute self-congratulatory diatribe, and then didn't take questions.   I don't think anyone would have cared if he just came out and said, "After a long search, we've decided to hire Nick Sirianni as HC...."  Gave a quick bio on Nick, and then turned it over to him.    But he didn't do that.

When he talks, he should be accountable to questions.  If he doesn't want to answer questions, then just put out a press release.

Even if he didn’t want to talk he should feel obligated to do so. He hired a friggin coach. Answer questions about it.

Hurts is a really likeable guy, but I see a very limited ceiling as far as his play is concerned. If the Birds do move on from Wentz, would much rather we just draft a new QB.

Yup.

Unless it’s for near the minimum, pass.

I don't really get the "Hurts is a likeable guy" stuff. He has the charisma of a brown paper bag to me. And he hasn't done or say anything really to connect to the fan base.

That’s been my view of things. If I’m at 6 (and with news atlanta is running it back with Ryan and julio today) if I’m dealing wentz I’m finding out if fields, Wilson or trey lance can be a franchise QB. I personally like lance but it’s going to take him a year or possibly longer to get there. He’s not ready to play week 1 and he also only played one game this past year due to the pandemic.

no time won’t tell that. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say none of those players come out there and say yeah we didn’t say anything like welcome to the Eagles nick because of Carson.

If you wanted to pose it that way then you should’ve said that. However you did not do that. That i could agree with as a missed opportunity and a big missed one by our other "leaders”

However again you brought up the $100 million dollar contract and being a team leader as reason why he should do it and be held more accountable. I’m just telling you other leaders on the team making $100 million contract did the same thing and you didn’t seem to bat an eye. Everything else with Carson makes no difference in the story. So because if Fletcher Cox would’ve gotten benched you would ask him to do that? I’m highly doubting you would say a word at that point.  Again Cox could have seen this team needs a leader and gone out of his way and done that to take the bull by its horns and led the team. And yet he didn’t do it

this comes down to your argument to blame Carson wentz for them not saying anything. That is what people used to do to Donovan McNabb back in the day. So congrats you somehow made Carson Wentz into Donovan McNabb who gets blamed for things he didn’t even do like preventing grown ass men from tweeting welcome nick on Twitter

Time will tell if Wentz more publicly embraces his role in the organization or not. Not what you added.

A franchise qb is a leader in a unique category on a team, at least I think so.

It is not blame. Regarding Wentz it is a question of expectations given the players status, context of what happened in the past and current context of change within the organization. What would a franchise qb be expected to do in this situation? The blame part that you are focusing on was simply conjecture about why other players might not be speaking out and it is an opinion. You don't think it might make Wentz look bad or fuel the "he's unhappy with the organization" narrative if other team leaders rolled out the welcome wagon and he didn't? This isn't blaming Wentz, if anything, it's speaks to the other team leaders being loyal and respectful of his situation.

He's not Wentz...

Is he talking about at CB or S? I can see at CB it benefiting him, but at S?

Never watched that show...before my time.  But I remember it being on.  The real question is how the hell did you produce that screeenshot?

I don't personally care if he talks or not.  But, if he doesn't, then the GM does.  And... when whomever does... and they come out with their propaganda, then they should answer questions.  But, the more Lurie talks, the more he just congratulates himself constantly.
