SCHEFTER: And wants to leave the franchise. Okay? And that’s why the trade still is in play. And, again, people wondering where did this stuff come from at the end of the year. Was it made [up]? This is all real. None of this is made up.

He’s definitely speculating about the trade, but this doesn’t sound like an opinion about Wentz wanting to leave.

It's literally their opinion on the situation...

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Until I actually hear directly from Wentz......I am not buying into the rumors or smoke. I believe they brought in Sirianni to coach up Wentz...give them a full year together....

/\ This    It may or may not be true. NO ONE KNOWS but Wentz. People are just blathering about at the mouth for clicks, they prey on naïve immature people. I'll wait and see what actually happens. If he gets traded, it better be for 2 1sts and a 3rd, cause it will take at least that to find and get another chance at a franchise QB.

It would be 13 million more than the previous dead cap hit.  It would be an embarrassing look for Lurie and Howie, and we know if nothing else, Lurie is about appearances.

I agree.  The optics would suck (to most) and it would be a horrible business decision.  He didn't get to where he is by making massive errors with money.

Also throw in the potential cap reduction to make it worse.

That’s him saying "none of this is made up” about Wentz wanting to leave. Whether he does or not, that’s a different story, but why is it so hard to believe that Wentz is unhappy being here after this past year?

I also think it goes to lurie and howie are delusional enough to believe wentz and hurts coming back would work and it won’t potentially blowup in their face. Unless Carson goes full watson i don’t think they are wanting to or looking to deal him also as schefter speculated.

I’m just saying. I doubt he’s ever been Boo’d by a crowd, he would have been last season.

Every player on the field including the coaching staff get boo'd when they play like crap. Have you ever been to a Eagles game in person?

BTW you might want to create a new account. You seam to have given up on Wentz so i wouldn't call you a Wentz fan.

He literally made it up before and backtracked

I haven’t given up on Wentz. I’d prefer he stay, but I won’t ignore the reports of him wanting to leave.

LOL!  Never been booed at an Eagles game?  C'mon now.

Please provide an actual source that he wants to leave.

If they traded Hurts, and the media began to give them a hard time over wasting a 2nd rounder on him (as they should)....they have such an easy "out"...

"Jalen was a player that the prior coaching staff pushed for and wanted. The new staff has evaluated things and we've decided to move on with Carson (or a new QB if that's what they decide)."

That statement may or may not be true, but it's an easy spin job for Lowie to dump Hurts if they wanted to.

I actually also think they’d add to that spin well we got a good cheap backup for a year and we got our return on investment back (assuming they got a second rounder)

i don’t believe they deal hurts though.

These aren't reports. Reports have sources and are fact based. These are all opinion pieces, and hold as much weight as anybody in here the blog posting the same ish.

If you wanna be a conspiracy theorist, knock yourself out.

Me either, and if they did, I don't even know if they'd recoup a second. If I was Howie, I'd be on the phone to Baltimore, as Hurts would actually be the perfect backup to Lamar.

Conspiracy theorist? I'm the guy who wants to see facts and sources provided. That's all I've asked for. You're believing what some guy writes on Twitter to be gospel, because he's broken a lot of stories in the past. The same guy, who made up stuff about Wentz not even 2 months ago and had to back down when called out about it.

You're an idiot.

Well look at that, an actual source!

I try to stick to facts and what I actually can verify, but I am of the opinion that both Hurts and Wentz are back. Hurts is on a cheap contract that balances the Wentz investment. If the Eagles do want to venture into the trade market, they need to go as buyers and not sellers.

It'd be smart cap wise but they would have to deal with questions from media all season long

I’d you don’t want to believe it until Wentz says it himself then fine, but you have a bunch of reporters saying he isn’t happy here including the one with the best track record. It doesn’t mean he’s getting traded, but there’s obviously problems that would need to be worked out if he stays.

You have a bunch of "reporters" assuming he isn't happy. Literally every single thing that has come out is someone's opinion of the situation. And that guy with the best track record did this exact thing like a month ago that he had to walk back because people called him out for spewing his opinion as fact.

Eagles could trade Wentz

Eagles could trade Hurts

Hell Eagles could trade both Wentz and Hurts

The problem will still exist. The media. They will do the same thing to the next QB like always. There really is no making them stop. Their business and money is in getting people to read. They know what the Eagles fans are.....suckers for a good click bait Qb story. We also know this world is all about the $$$, there is no honor anymore in truth.

Im going deep :)

I think it depends on how the market shapes up with watson and the three QBs after Lawrence. I think the colts, niners, Patriots, Washington, Houston (when they deal watson), bears, Steelers (potentially with big Ben retiring or not) need a QB. I think panthers want a young QB and Broncos likely want a good veteran QB if they move on from lock. Not all those teams are going to get watson or one of the 3 QBs after Lawrence. However no clue on how they feel about hurts. Some not high as last year they last but some of that could be they had guys in place then and were yet willing to move on from like bears with foles and trubisky. Also was the rumor the Patriots liked him a lot and smoke around them taking him if the eagles didn’t a couple picks later.

The eagles were also confused about how to tank properly so that’s not a shocking statement
