I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think the source is likely other players that are close to Wentz.  Schefter doesn't just seem to ever speculate for the sake nothing.  He is usually providing insight on a situation based on talking to people who know.  Ultimately, what Carson wants doesn't make a tremendous difference if the Eagles can't or won't trade him.

That’s what my logic has been on who the source is. Listening to Chris Mortensen two days after he had that report on 975 he flat out said it wasn’t Carson, it wasn’t his agent. He specifically said that when asked. Now it could be Carson‘s camp but I’m guessing if he’s willing to shoot down the other two when they brought that up that he would likely tell you if it came from his camp. I think his players on the team who are "close” to him and that’s how the view the situation and being inside the locker room and likely just talking to him before the end of the season.

and a player source

Always an unnamed player source.  Not one Philly outlet reported this, so I call BS.

I didn't say he was obligated to do it. I think they're just obligated to speak with the media during the season. There was a thing about Watt supposedly skipping his and Watt denying that skipped it

I'm not arguing with you

I don't believe a HC that was in turmoil with his boss held traditional exit interviews....during a pandemic....NO!  Doug met with Lurie.....a week later, they met again and Doug was fired.  DO you honestly think the time between those two meetings, Doug was proceeding like everything was normal and had exit interviews with the whole entire roster other than Wentz?!  Doug was at odds with Carson.  Doug was odds with Lurie about coaching positions and Carson.  But he's going to put all of that on pause during the one window of time directly after the season ended to knock out exit interviews with a team he wasn't even sure he was going to lead in 2021, before he travels down to Florida to meet with the owner about his own future!?

The Eagles held exit interviews on the Monday after the season ended.

And yes Doug was proceeding as normal after the season.  He said he believed his job was safe.  He held a press conference with Howie Roseman days after the season.

Got a link stating that every single player on the Eagles roster had an exit interview ??

In fairness to RTK he did have a link.

I already said no.  Please keep up.

What we do know is that they conducted exit interviews on the Monday following the season and we have a report that Wentz did not have one.  It is my assumption based on no reports saying otherwise that it was not a common event of players skipping out on their exit interviews with the team.  Typically when a player skips out in an exit interview it gets reported because those tend to be disgruntled players.

It was likely alshon as the player source.

Then he can say, per team source, like he always does with sources he cites. He put out one thing, and then immediately backtracked and said he didn't talk to anyone.

I'm leaning towards giving Schefter the benefit of the doubt in this report. He's not a tabloid/gossip reporter and tends to be pretty accurate. But even if it's true, that doesn't mean that they have to trade him. It's the same deal with Watson with Houston. Just because he wants out doesn't mean that they have to trade him for anything less than a ransom.

However, with Wentz, if he is beyond saving here from a commitment standpoint and firing Doug and bringing in a new staff doesn't change his mind about wanting to give it another run, then you have to trade him. It's not about you not wanting to trade him, or thinking he's still the answer here at QB, or not liking Hurts. It's about not keeping a guy who is checked out and just done here mentally. That's not fair to the players, coaches, fanbase, etc. You cannot have a guy like that on your team, let alone at the most important position at QB. This team isn't winning 14 games next season. At best, they grind out 9 or 10 wins. And that's going to take some serious grind and overcoming rough patches in a season to get to and the split second the team starts to slide or Wentz has a couple of bad games, he'll be checked out because he's not 100% in.

It was the same thing with Doug. You could have certainly made a case as to why Doug deserved to keep his job, but none of that matters because he was checked out mentally and just done here. You can't have someone like that coaching your team the same way you can't have someone like the quarterbacking your team.

He didn't even say an anonymous source or something like that though. He's literally said "I think" and people just run with it

So now there is chatter that Luck is planning a comeback? Can pencil out the Colts as a trade partner then.

He left right as that team finally got everything on track. I’m surprised he waited to do it until that season. They are basically a QB away and might be the biggest competition to KC in the AFC

Do you have a link?

Heard sources say Carson not only didn’t show up to the exit interview but Doug wanted Vanilla ice cream for every exit interview and Carson being the bad teammate and team guy left the freezer door open at the novacare center over night and it melted.

DeSean should be healthy soon. Just thought I’d add that, carry on.

I give him 2.5 days into offseason workouts before he leaves with an injury

That trade was almost certainly driven by Schwartz - he has always like "fastballs" on passing downs, and I seriously doubt Howie would make that trade on his own.

Problem was once Schwartz got him, he couldn't figure out how to use him, "Elephant", pass rushing LB, wide 9, obviously not a base defense guy.

Coaches make mistakes, Stoutland lobbied for Warmack for example.

Warmack was signed as a FA to a 1 yr/1.5m contract though.  Hardly call that lobbying.

Thats not new. This was mentioned months ago and no word from Andrew himself.

Eagles could trade Wentz

Eagles could trade Hurts

Hell Eagles could trade both Wentz and Hurts

But I would like Wentz here not there.

I would not like Hurts here not there.

I would not like him anywhere.

Just think about this theory for a minute.  You know these fantasy exit interviews had to be held virtually, right?  So I am to believe that they had no issues with knocking out 53+ exit interviews on zoom, between meeting with Howe and Lurie and a Press Conference and then flying down to meet with Lurie again all in 4 days?!?

That's what he's trying to argue....without a link.

Oh i tend to agree with you. I think the player who said it didn’t really have a good grasp of what Doug, front office, lurie and howie’s operation with them worked. I’d be willing to bet it was either someone who hasn’t been with the team very long or a younger player.

Or maybe the player who was the source was one of the only exit interviews because they are not coming back.
