No Foles restructured AFTER he was traded.

The Chicago Bears restructured the contract of Nick Foles, giving the franchise more flexibility with the former Super Bowl MVP. Foles now has three years and $24 million remaining on his contract, with $21 million still guaranteed, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He'll make $8 million per season under his new deal.

Okay fine, either way it makes a trade more palpable for the Eagles, makes it more likely that we get better compensation if he agrees to amend his contract with his new team.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Doug all of last season actually

If that was Doug all of last season, our offense would have actually looked much better.

Didn't Foles do the same so he could be traded to the Bears? I remember something similar happened years ago with Lavar Arrington's contract with Washington so he could sign with the Giants.

Is there a poison pill provision that prevents Wentz from doing the same?

You can not restructures signing bonus money that has already been paid to the player.

Dead money is signing bonus money that has already been paid to the player, but the cap hit is spread out over the life of the contract.

All future signing bonus money accelerates to the year of the transaction ( trade or cut ).  There is other money that can factor in to the dead cap, but at a minimum the signing bonus cap hit accelerates when cutting or trading a player.  Red box on left makes the dead cap hit total on the right.

Carson Wentz cap hit if traded is the prorated signing bonus spread across 2021 - 2024

If you can though, please tell me what the word "after" means, especially in the context of the quote.

I think I can break this down for you. If the sentence structure was done this way, it would be less confusing for you. But this states the exact same thing, just this makes it clear. Carson only declined to speak to the media, it does not state he declined to do his exit interview. .

Carson Wentz has been embroiled in trade rumors for weeks and on Monday, Philadelphia’s franchise quarterback declined to speak to the media. (which was after the Eagles completed their exit interviews)

No what would make sense is letting the new team talk to Carson's agent, agree on new terms and if there is a deal agreed the teams then complete the trade. If the new team cant get a new contract terms agreed on they walk away from the trade.

Its exactly why you see the new deals announced only days after a trade is done. You think they talked it out that fast?

and if Im the eagles, I need at least 2 1sts and 1 3rd as a start to trading Wentz. Franchise Qb's are hard to find, and even harder to get.

No it doesn't. He needs to find a team willing to trade for him before he renegotiates with them. The compensation is what is and usually is contingent on the player renegotiating.

I personally wouldnt even trade him for that. Im keeping Wentz. Screw all the haters. They will hate the next QB as well so doesnt matter. Lets see what the kid has under Nick. Like you said a Franchise QB is hard to find, why let him go without giving it a year with the new coach.

IT SAYS He didn't speak to the MEDIA!!!  You dolt.

We all knew this, weeks ago.  This is nothing new.  Yet, you're trying to spin it that he's the only player who didn't take part in an exit interview.

And let's not forget who your smoking gun source is.  The same guy who said there was a physical altercation on the sideline when Doug pulled Hurts.  That's the guy your hitching your wagon too.  Fitting.

So you can't read. Or you're actively choosing to be ignorant.

Because that article states that the Eagles conducted exit interviews.  The part about Wentz declining to speaks to the media is irrelevant to the point that the Eagles did conduct exit interviews on the Monday following the end of the season.

Eric Bieniemy never made sense here as HC for a variety of reasons.

Exactly.  People need to understand what the Rams did was pure stupidity; it could only be rationalized if Stafford delivers them a Super Bowl.  That isn’t going to happen.

Reason #1, Pat Mahomme's would not be coming with him to be his QB

Okay.  You are getting mixed up here.

1) I am not using that link as a source for Wentz skipping in the exit interview with the team.

2) The ESPN article I have posted cites that Wentz did not have his exit interview with the team.

3) The Yahoo article is the source to show that the Eagles did conduct exit interviews on the Monday following the end of the season.

Again — why aren’t you stopping at ‘ESPN’?

It did not say that Carson had his exit interview with the team.  It said after the team conducted its exit interviews.  Meanwhile the ESPN article reports that Wentz did not have his exit interview with the team.

So you are only using the part of the article that fits your narrative.  Got it.

Sorry I was going only off of what you posted at that time.  And it did not state he did or did not do an exit int.

Awwwwwwww this brings me back to the glory days of the great Wentz and Foles debates.  Lol

Damn. You guys are still on that?

If Wentz isn’t the QB moving forward, do they draft one in top 6? Trade for one? I don’t see Hurts being the answer.

Ok so I went and READ the ESPN article

Here are the two lines I find interesting. 1st- about WENTZ AND DOUG, Doug no longer here, so no where does it state Wentz hates the ORG or Howie, it sepcifically mentions Doug.

the second clearly states that it was a PLAYER who was the source for the non exit interview.  Not Doug, Not the team, Not Wentz. So maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I dont think it really matters, because in the end according to your article, Wentz had an issue with Doug (which would explain why he might not want to talk to him in an exit int) and Doug is now gone.

Doug being gone means Wentz no longer has an issue, according to your source. ESPN

Wentz has planned to ask for a trade in the offseason because his relationship with Pederson is fractured beyond repair, sources said. The trust issues between the two work both ways, sources said, despite Pederson recently saying that his relationship with Wentz was fine.

Wentz has not spoken publicly since the Eagles' season ended, and a player source indicated that the quarterback did not have the normal end-of-season exit interview with Pederson or the staff.
