The psychological part of this one is interesting

You're rooting for your teammate but when they go down you get your chance

Yeah i thought the whole thing was super fascinating. It was a pretty good in-depth look at how players think and inside the locker room. Granted his brother was kind of a dbag in the locker room in multiple places so i wonder how his brothers view would be

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Damn the player shut down that story quickly.

Or even the hard hitters. Or the players that were involved in the bounty gate

I found this funny by Bennett. However he went off on a ton of tweets talking about inside the athletes head and what goes on in the locker room. It’s worth reading all of them.

I don't care for that tweet about coaches. I wouldn't listen to anything an idiot Bennett neither says.

I'm sure not all coaches are great people.  But his reasoning doesnt add up.

An ego doesn't make someone a bad person.

Many doctors have gigantic egos, but are inherently good people who devote their lives to helping others.

No one is perfect but an ego is just a bad characteristic that can exist in a good person.

Interesting "don’t speak for me to make a story”. Interesting also how they spun it the way they wanted too and meant nothing about slighting bridgewater. Yup media won’t spin things...

I’m glad they didn’t go with mcdaniels. Frankly i believe if New England struggles on offense again this year (i think they bring back Jimmy G if the niners release or trade him) there’s a strong chance they move on from him.

Personally I don’t think McDaniels had a shot at the job he would have never agreed to give complete control over personnel to Howie.

Possible. I just don’t think lurie was comfortable after talking to the Broncos ownership group (believe their owner that hired him directly passed away but still family there in the organization) and irsay telling them everything that happened with them behind the scenes. I think people don’t realize they’re basically 32 (GB is whatever you want to say) owners and they likely rely on one another for backchannel info. I’m guessing it wasn’t exactly great besides Kraft and New England on behalf of mcdaniels

Dr Strange has an ego. He can also see the future so maybe that’s why.

IMO I think McDaniels would have gotten the job if he would have agreed to let howie pick the 53 players. His ego would never allow it. Same with Howie.

He also was the best of us. How he got the stone.

I feel like they it would’ve been a chip Kelly situation all over again.

Not good

Yep....and I would have thought they had that conversation with multiple candidates.  No one can convince me that Sirianni was high on their list.

I’d go as far as to say he wasn’t even on the first list. He came along after the list was exhausted and no hire was made. This was on Howie keeping charge of players and the 53 Sirianni said yes.

As bad as that Press conference was I have to imagine that At the job interview he was even more nervous and probably stuttering even more but I had no issue giving up power over players of the 53

The only silver lining is now how he has no scapegoat everyone knows he is completely in charge Unlike times when we used to question who picked who with Howie vs Reid/Kelly2013/Pederson.

Just think about this theory for a minute.  You know these fantasy exit interviews had to be held virtually, right?  So am I to believe that they had no issues with knocking out 53+ exit interviews on zoom, between meeting with Howie and Lurie and a Press Conference and then flying down to meet with Lurie again all in 4 days?!?

That's what he's trying to argue....without a link.

Closer to 80 exit interviews.  11 PS players,  16 on IR, three on Covid list, Brooks on recall from PUP.  So perfect world with no breaks and Zoom perfection, ten minutes for each in an 8 hour day.

Thoughts on Wandavision so far?

With all the talk of opinions, agendas, reports, etc today my question is if you is if you believe your opinion?  Not just you, of course.  All of us. Having an opinion is one thing, believing it to be true is another.  My big one recently is that Doug sucked as a head coach.  After a lot of reading and talk I backed off some and it migrated more to Howie sucking.  But if the Eagles have a great draft and this coaching staff turns out to be good....

Haven’t actually watched it so far. I’m trying to to wait til all the episodes are released. so i can just binge it all at one time and not wait a week for the next one. Tbh i actually thought DC tv shows have been better than a lot of the marvel ones. Like i thought the first couple seasons of Gotham were good. Then it kind of went off the rail at the end.

No chance.  Especially not in a day where he had to do a press conference with the accountant.

Yeah i tend to not believe doug had major input on players they draft (if any) but they refused to give him bigger say in the coaching staff moves he wanted and didn’t want to make.

It has been reported that Howie had Jefferson ranked higher than Reagor, but the coaching staff banged the table for Reagor due to scheme fit.

I think Doug was a solid coach in motivating players and having them rally behind him. However i do think players being developed by coaches on the staff that he’s supposed to be monitoring and the play calling was not good and trending the wrong direction since 2018. The fact we didn’t use reagor properly most of the season and then just pissing me off more I’ve asked for ward to do a trick play pass for 1.5 seasons and Doug finally does it in a game they are trying to lose and have nothing to play for.

Was kind of seeing it setting up for things but the first 2 episodes were just kind of weird, well acted, but weird. As we got to ep. 4, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season very much.

Adam Schefter isn't the best reporter in sports because he speculates baselessly without any knowledge. It is very obvious that Carson doesn't want to be here. He could silence all of the nonsense with one tweet. He could welcome Sirianni to the team. Etc.

Honestly sounds like a spin put out there by the person who is still in that building so howie doesn’t take the blame. I don’t care who it was. Doug or howie. Doug wanted him and howie makes final say. So both of them made mistakes in that process if true.

Of course he did - there's a huge difference between input and control.

You'd be crazy not to ask your coaches for input, you're drafting players for your coaches' schemes, you're gonna draft a two gap 3-4 NT for a one gap 4-3?

The problem comes when your coaches start falling in love with players, rather than explaining to the personnel guys what qualities they're looking for to fit their schemes, then let the scouts identify the players who fit those criteria.
