Also wow wft would trade two firsts rounders to get Carr. Then the raiders would flip those two firsts and two of their own to get Deshaun Watson

I don’t believe for an instant that the Jets could get a 1st for Darnold.  A 2nd perhaps.

Two 1st round picks for Derek Carr is also nutty, although I could believe Snyder would like Carr because he’s kind of in that Kirk Cousins stratosphere

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Is the final going to be open note? Also will you be grading on a curve?

No, you can also not use a calculator. Everything has to be paper and pencil and show your work.

Nothing will take away from February 4th, 2018 but can’t believe we are already here 3 years later.

Again, Schefter doesn't speculate for no reason. If he gets on radio and says things, he's doing it for a reason.

Again, there is a difference between what he’s been saying with Wentz vs this, agree?

Why are there no sources cited for Wentz? Why is he saying this for Watson matter of factly as opposed to Wentz when he "just guesses”? Why will he not go on record that Wentz has requested a trade and has demanded out of Philly? Why is he pushing his thoughts on sports radio as opposed to posting them on his public Twitter?

The answer is simple. He’s using whatever he actually knows, plus precedent, plus common sense. But he doesn’t know for a fact otherwise he would be putting this out there on his Twitter with some sort of source. He’s hedging his bets in the case he ends up wrong. If I had to guess, he reached out to his sources in Wentz’s camp, got a non answer, and is going with the most likely scenario but isn’t confident enough to go all in on it.

Let’s start here. The bolded is not correct. Both the base salary and roster bonus are already fully guaranteed. Notice the Guaranteed salary column of $25.4M, that’s what it is referring to. Look at the "contract notes” under the table. For reference: "Wentz' 2019 and 2020 base salaries are guaranteed as is a $10 million 2021 roster bonus.  Wentz' 2021 salary will become fully guaranteed if he is on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2020 league year

On the 3rd day of the 2021 league year the Eagles pay the $10M roster bonus but it’s guaranteed. Just like his 2021 base salary is because he was here in 2020. You’re last sentence is correct.

This is also correct.

This is not correct. You are showing the table saying "Cut pre-June 1”. That’s when the $59M in dead money comes into play, as explained above how his roster and base are already guaranteed. If Carson Wentz is traded after the 3rd day of the 2021 league year, his dead cap number is $44,673,536 (his original $34,673,536 + $10,000,000 roster bonus assuming it was paid and not restructured to a later date). His base salary is paid out over the regular season and would be still guaranteed but transferred to the team trading for him. He cannot be cut at all without taking on $59M in dead money either all in 2021 or split up via post June 1st between 2021 and 2022.

Further, what they were referring to before is if you look at his contract notes, $15M of his 2022 base salary becomes fully guaranteed if he is on the roster the 3rd day of the 2021 league year. When they say “$25M more” they are referencing paying the  2021 roster bonus of $10M + $15M of 2022 base salary. Which, as I said earlier, they would be responsible for if they cut him in 2022. If they keep him this year but trade him next year they can get out of that $15M.

Thank you for explaining this to that dope so I didn’t have to.  Like I said, we are on the hook for $25M more in total cap for Carson if we don’t trade him before early March.  Which includes $15M in 2022 and $10M in 2021 as you demonstrated.

6 and their pick of one of our QBs.

So it's possible that in the span of 2 years, Foles is released, Doug is fired, and Wentz is traded, but Howie somehow is still in charge.

What does this F'er have on Lurie.

Whatever it is it must be major! It is completely asinine that this guy remains here in charge of personnel etc when those moves have all happened.

Chase, smith, waddle went 2,3,4. Tough decision between parsons and horn at 12. Horn has the most upside at cb in the draft IMO.
had a few other sims where I was able to combo Cox or Moses with mcgrone, but I opted to take a seemingly kelce like C in Jackson here.

They went #2, 3, 4? I mean that seems like a very unrealistic draft simulation... There's no way 3 WRs go before we get on the board.

Read the writing on the wall. Schefter and Mort came out with multiple reports saying the relationship is fractured behind repair and all that. They likely have spoken to Wentz.

The reality is this fan base right now is torn and fractured. Some love Wentz and will defend him at all costs, others want him out and will bash him at all costs. Like with everything these days there is no middle ground and people won't see it from the other side. It just harnesses conflict.

Like that draft, man! Horn might be a perfect fit for Gannon’s scheme and you’re still able to get us a good WR, at least on paper an ideal LB, Kelce’s heir, a quality DT and a safety with upside.

McGrone might be my fav LB in the draft (if you're looking for a potential 3 down LB) but every sim I do I'm starring at Moses/Cox there.  Granted tape is limited and the system at UM didn't really help him too much.

Gannon is a fan of a more traditional 4-3 approach if i'm not mistaken?  A lot of 2 high S, and a mix of cover-2 for zone/bump and run for man..with a smattering of other stuff in there?  In a non complicated way of typing it out at 3 am haha.

No middle ground is very true.  I don't see mass "love and defend at all costs", but there sure is enough "want him out and will bash him at all costs" around here.

So now is he on Carson’s $hit list ? That would make him overly sensitive and a me first guy, wanting Sudz to lead the team if he gets injured and thus sabotaging our season. I don’t get why he would think that way after the big money he is getting and how it would reflect on his character in the future. I know Favre resented Rodgers but Hurts is no where in the same ballpark as Rodgers at least right now. CW is in his prime years while Favre was in his twilights. Doesn’t make sense, his insinuated insecurities unless he knows physically he can never approach that 2017 level since that would be necessary to compete for a SB. Carson is a QB and Lowie are the GM both should just do their jobs. I was giving Roseman a pass thinking he is figuring stuff out and not too many GM’s around who have won a SB but Wentz could be his biggest mistake, a huge ... HUGE investment. Can’t blame Howie for the injury but I will blame him for the franchise QB level contract. If Wentz can’t get back physically close to that level it was a bad contract, a major setback to the team and a really bad job by Howie

You’re under the assumption that a team who loves him doesn’t believe they can improve upon his game. They are projecting what their coaches and staff can do with him. Not what he was as a rookie under doug. If you are making the deal you aren’t doing it as he’s a finished product.

Sure trade him as long as you have leverage not getting bargain returns because someones ego may have been bruised. The Eagles would have to make a fair assessment of where they think he will be in another 1 - 2 years ( they’ve had a year with him so they should have a good feel ) and then getting at least a fair deal for him. If they can get a much better pick than they invested they can keep the QB Factory title

If you think you saw something in the last 4 games this season to warrant a permanent change at the position, you have an agenda of some sort.

I have seen nothing from Wentz in the past 3 seasons to have confidence in his Philadelphia future.   The final four games of 2020 is a sad argument.  In those four games Wentz wasn't playing QB, he was playing backyard hero ball. Not to mention the schedule went NYG, WFT, DAL, NYG.  Lol

I went back to find the Schefter story, when he dropped the tweet on Sunday morning before a game:

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/adam-schefter-says-people-have-misconstrued-his-report-about-carson-wentz

At the end, he reveals how much of a snake he is, trying to downplay the report he put out.

"Again, it’s all common sense,” Schefter said. "That’s really what the story is. It’s not anything else. Which is he’s not happy he’s playing backup. He’s playing the good soldier, he’s being supportive, he’s not publicly complaining. But it doesn’t change the fact of how he feels. And he doesn’t want to be a backup quarterback. Who does? If he wanted to be a backup, you would question the mental makeup of the man himself. Again, that was the story. Somehow that got turned into Carson Wentz is selfish, how can he speak out before the game? How could he say this? How could he think this? How could he do this?”

Well geez Adam, when YOU publish your speculative story on a Sunday morning, what did you think was gonna happen? Own it you coward.

What if he got the scoop but is protecting his source ? Who would benefit from putting out fake info ? Click bait at the expense of your professional reputation ?
