I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Y’all getting comfortable with a QB at 6 yet?

Adam Schefter isn't the best reporter in sports because he speculates baselessly without any knowledge. It is very obvious that Carson doesn't want to be here. He could silence all of the nonsense with one tweet. He could welcome Sirianni to the team. Etc.

And he could have welcomed him when they spoke. But you do you. Maybe he doesn't want to be here, but I don't think it's obvious. I think it's obvious that he doesn't want to speak about it right now.

What if he got the scoop but is protecting his source ? Who would benefit from putting out fake info ? Click bait at the expense of your professional reputation ?

If he actually had a source, he would say "per source". People do it literally all the time to protect their sources. But it's just his opinion that he is spewing as fact for clicks, that's why he starts it out by saying "it's common sense" instead of "per a source with the team/close to Carson", and in other statements he says stuff like "i can see it going either way." He has no source in relation to this situation. The guy is a clown

I also think the tweet his agent put out there really probably ticked off lurie. Cause it really partially singled the eagles out when it came to not hiring black coaches and in betting lurie feels like he’s done a lot to help in that area.

All Lurie has to do is send one tweet denying that he's a racist. Therefore he must be a racist.

No middle ground is very true.  I don't see mass "love and defend at all costs", but there sure is enough "want him out and will bash him at all costs" around here.

You are kidding right? You don't mass love and defend at all costs? People outright denying that there's clearly an issue and that Carson not speaking to the media is absolutely fine and no issue.

Really good analysis. Unsurprisingly, OL/DL is the way to go.

C and G I think are on the top of the list and usually aren’t top 15 so trade back or if Wentz is gone might have to trade up for a QB ... again

Wentz is probably in his tree stand reading this shot and laughing.

Unless he's hunting for wild boars, coyotes, or crows. He better be in a tree stand in another country.

He can maintain it all he wants, but he has an agent and others around him who pay attention to it for him. He knows what’s going on.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm guessing a lot of players don't give a flying crap about negative fans or negative media. But either way so what if he knows what's going on?

After the season he just had, he should be unsatisfied, self critical and a little unhappy. He got bashed because of a demolished OL and bad play calls by Pederson and Press.  He had the yips too.  So he is enjoying his vacation and reflecting.   But he doesn’t need to leave to get a fresh start.  He is getting that with the Eagles.  New coaches that will scheme to his strengths.  Look at the QBs that Sirianni has primarily had, Rivers and Luck.   More similar to Carson than Hurts.  I imagine after the Saints game, Carson probably thought something like "oh crap” but after the last game, that initial feeling went away.

He doesn't need to leave but a couple of the things (that he can't control) will not be better this year. Unless Nick is all the difference that's needed and Doug was 90% of what made the team bad.

Fair enough but it's the offseason. All there is to do is speculate on everything.

The guy that benched him is gone, but the guy who drafted his   REPLACEMENT   in the 2nd round is not.  It makes a lot of sense for Wentz to have issue with Howie.

Do you have a source for that? The only reports I've seen regarding Wentz's exit interview with the team is that he no showed.

Do you have a source for that ? Is that right after Lowie gave CW that franchise QB type contract ? You sound like a conspiracy theorist letting their imagination run wild

Wentz at the end of 2019 (but instead of throwing to scrubs he’s throwing to players who can actually do something after the catch) is a quarterback who can win a lot of games.

He was bad in 2020, but I’m against moving on from him. I’d love to see what he can do with Sirianni’s horizontal passing game with plays designed to travel 5 yards in the air but can turn into 40 yards.

Agree, and I would go so far as to say that you have to give him one more year to see what develops and if he still fails it makes it a bit easier to move on from him.

Please show me where I said that was the best argument? I’ll wait cause i never said that.  What I said was your nonchalant who cares is probably not shared among the people inside the organization who also likely believe he can still be salvaged (hence why schefter and mortensen have stated they don’t really want to trade him) or if he proves he was fixable. Again a point the eagles organization definitely thinks about that before they just deal him. If you think they are gonna just say who cares about that i think you are mistaken. But hey clearly the narrative is i said that was the best argument

I was visiting a relative a few days ago and heard a bang and when I came outside someone accidentally rammed into my car and Fed up my car door. I got all the insurance stuff gathered and I need to file the claim and get the repair setup.

Has anyone ever had a car door replaced through an insurance claim before? Do you know if they replace it with a factory brand new car door same make/model as I had before the damage if the door itself is unable to be repaired?

I don't want some cheap replacement, I want my car looking like new. It's a relatively new car and I took great care of it. I just never trust insurance companies and what they'll pay for is all.

Depends on your insurance

No.  I don't "mass love and defend at all costs".  Most of his support is saying that he did not play well enough and needs to impove, but they believe the best interest for the team is to stick it out.  As for speaking to the media, I don't see it as an issue, but that doesn't give him a pass for his play on the field.

Anyway, you have a clear agenda to bash Wentz.  More and more people are recognizing it.  IMO, he will be gone soon enough (despite some really good arguments that I am wrong) and you can celebrate your "I told you so" moment.

I don't have an agenda against Wentz. I look at the situation in front of us, the reports that we keep hearing and I determine "this guy is not good for this franchise based on everything there in front of us". If that means I have an agenda against Wentz then fine. I call hypocrites in some of those cases.

You are just so blinded by the hate and rumors and rage, that you don't see it.  He will be gone soon enough and the Eagles will start their rebuild from way further behind than necessary with no quality replacement and a massive financial hole.   But, that chaos is exactly what you want, so enjoy it.

At this point, i just want it done, so we can move on to the next polarizing, imagination-induced, rumorfest.  It's been years, since we have had a quiet offseason.  It will probably never happen again.

Some of us go to sportrac or overthecap.  That will show you the cap hits, the salary, the roster bonus, the guarantees, the hits if cut/traded at various dates.  That's a good look at the overall situation...but they still do other things to convert bonuses into guarantees, rollover space between years, and otherwise move money around in ways that I don't quite understand.  I'm not sure where the fine print exists out there amidst the misinformation for a fan to actually know the options at that level of minutiae.

Spotrac/OTC are very good with details. There are some small discrepancies, but we're talking about 0-3M in total variance on the cap in any given year. 3M on a 170-220M cap is relatively insignificant.

For me, the biggest fear isn't that the Eagles are over the cap, but how Howie chooses to get under it. Restructure Hargrave? Sure, given his age/profile he'll be on the roster in 2022. Extend Goedert? Sure, young ascending player. There's an easy path to save 10M by extending Graham by 1 year, but that means we'd have 35 year old Graham in 2022.

Wentz should be the best QB we have. He should be the best QB in franchise history. But he is not. He just is not.

Anyway, I come in here now to get updates on the trade status: should only be a matter of time now.

And yet you still felt the need to post something negative about Wentz. Obviously he's living in your head rent free.

Read the writing on the wall. Schefter and Mort came out with multiple reports saying the relationship is fractured behind repair and all that. They likely have spoken to Wentz.

Likely?

Watson: "I officially want to be traded"

Wentz: "Our relationship is fractured beyond repair and I want to be traded but that didn't come from me."

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?

So now is he on Carson’s $hit list ? That would make him overly sensitive and a me first guy, wanting Sudz to lead the team if he gets injured and thus sabotaging our season. I don’t get why he would think that way after the big money he is getting and how it would reflect on his character in the future. I know Favre resented Rodgers but Hurts is no where in the same ballpark as Rodgers at least right now. CW is in his prime years while Favre was in his twilights. Doesn’t make sense, his insinuated insecurities unless he knows physically he can never approach that 2017 level since that would be necessary to compete for a SB. Carson is a QB and Lowie are the GM both should just do their jobs. I was giving Roseman a pass thinking he is figuring stuff out and not too many GM’s around who have won a SB but Wentz could be his biggest mistake, a huge ... HUGE investment. Can’t blame Howie for the injury but I will blame him for the franchise QB level contract. If Wentz can’t get back physically close to that level it was a bad contract, a major setback to the team and a really bad job by Howie

ummmm, what?
