I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think the only thing youre missing is that when a super talented player is struggling, they look for someone who can help him out of it.  I think it became apparent to Wentz that the current staff couldnt help him out of it, and I would speculate that that was part of the reason Wentz eventually shut them out.

Wentz, by many accounts, has been coached hard before and was just fine.

It sounds like he didn’t like Flip, who notoriously coached him hard.

And that's fine. I don't have "issue" with him not speaking I just think 1) it is a little out of character and 2) I think that stances is misplaced. Now maybe it's an agreement he has with the organisation or maybe it is guidance he has received but I think that is the wrong approach. Any player has the right to handle things however they want but I think given how active he has been on social media etc it is a little strange and does speak volumes. To me him not speaking isn't the issue, but to me him not speaking does say that he does want out.

What?!  You have been one of the most vocal about him not doing a post season presser and how wrong it was that he didn't speak.  He's a leader, yada, yada, yada...you raged for weeks about that.

You will know when Wentz wants to be traded- Because if that happens, it will likely happen this way:

REPORT: "Wentz's agent has asked the Eagles to trade Carson"

or

REPORT " Carson has asked the Eagles to be traded"

or

REPORT " after demanding a trade, Wentz restructures his contract in order to facilitate "

This, to everyone's knowledge has not happened.   Therefore, it's still all just speculation.

Furthermore, listening to SIRIUS NFL on way home last night. PAT Kirwan and Jim Miller were discussing the situation when an obvious TATER called asking about Wentz being traded. Pat & Jim said, it is clear the organization is telling Wentz we believe in you, you are our guy, with the hiring of Sirianni. They said that the Eagles made it clear when hiring Sirianni he is there to get Wentz back to form. Then they talked briefly about Wentz having an issue with Doug, and how that is no longer an issue with Doug gone, how again, that they have heard nothing to believe Wentz wanted out or still wants out. They talked briefly about Watson as example. They talked about Wentz's contract etc.

Then they played Devils advocate and asked, lets say you wanted to and were able to trade wentz away, they asked the question to themselves: do you really believe Hurts is your guy? The Answer was a flat out NO! Neither believe Hurts is that guy. They asked if they believe Wentz can turn it around, Jim Miller said sure, why not? He cited how well he played prior, and that the team had obvious issues.

God it's so refreshing to here people discuss the situation using logic and reason and having no agenda, no click bait stuff, just talking about it realistically. This is why they are the only outlet I pay attention to anymore.

100%.  Around here, Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller would be Apologists or Wentz Washers for applying logic and fairly evaluating the whole situation.

Trade Wentz to Chicago for Foles straight up. LFG!!!

Apparently Sirianni interviewed Colts assistant Jerrod Johnson, a former Eagles QB, for the QB coach before hiring Brian Johnson.

Of course he did.  He spent one year as an offensive quality control coach in Indy.  And he's 32...so super qualified.

And I would be careful when calling him a "former Eagle".  He was with the team for 3 weeks as a camp body.

Are we ok to call Frank Gore a former Eagle?

3 years since the Super Bowl... just watched highlights and there could be a case made for Alshon as the MVP

You just replied to almost literally every post in the blog posted over the last 12 hours regarding Carson Wentz and I’m the one with Wentz living in MY head?

Nevertheless, positive or negative, I have an opinion on how’s he played, which is just that. Him wanting to leave is another story and one that shouldn’t be brushed aside because we’ve lost faith in the media (especially when it comes from reporters who are the best in the business).

Carson Wentz wants out. It’s okay to say that. If he leaves, we’ll move on and one day win another super bowl (likely within the next 50 years!). Whether or not he actually leaves is another question.

I'm not the one who said I only check in to see if the trade happens yet.

We can safely assume at this point that Carson Wentz is a good dude overall but can be stubborn like most type-A QBs. And like many stars, he doesn’t appear to take well to criticism. All of that can be fine when he’s playing well. When he isn’t, and isn’t making the necessary changes to correct poor play, that leads to issues both in the field and off of it.

Can he correct his issues? Is he willing to listen to those who want him to change? When things go badly, can he have the discipline to stick with those changes? Those are the real questions about him moving forward.

Reading the tea leaves, I think the Eagles would like to make it work but at best he’s undecided about whether he wants to be here. At worst, he’s mentally checked out and has told the Eagles privately that he thinks a trade is for the best. That’s different than demanding a trade. It’s softer and leaves wiggle room. I don’t think he has demanded a trade. That would have leaked out and would have been put out in stronger, more concise terms like Schefter did with the Watson tweet.

Checked out?  Get real.

He’s already spoken with Sirianni and Steichen.  I’ve never checked out on an employer, but if I did I could guarantee I wouldn’t be answering calls from my bosses during my days off

I've been around plenty long enough thanks but thanks for the patronising all the same.

I am not saying that people are defending Wentz play. I think people make a lot of excuses for his poor play but I don't see anyone blindly saying that Carson played well. But it's funny how reports come out from an anonymous source and everyone absolutely believes that it is Jeffrey and he's a locker room cancer. It's funny how Shefter tweets that the Eagles are in for player X and everyone jumps on that saying "oh yeah lets go Eagles" etc etc but because these reports are about Carson people dismiss it. It's hypocrisy.

People can be fans of Carson, people can believe he can turn it around (I've actually said myself I believe he can) but people also can say that despite those things it is time for Carson and Philly to go their separate ways. Quite why that makes us Carson haters is beyond me.

Absolutely everyone didn't believe the Alshon reports. And being excited because Shefter tweets that we have the possibility of getting a player is not the same as believing them. I've seen plenty of posts over the years of skepticism over those reports and that's what I'm seeing now. People who have been around a while realizing that everything that is reported isn't always true.

You may have been around a while in your book but I have been around a while longer and that's a fact.

Right up until that moment they decided to put Gilmore on him. From then on, he was Neutered. Actually, it had to be Foles as MVP, he played lights out. Then you could argue, Aggy or Ertz, without them that last drive TD doesn't happen, and we lose.

I guess he really does want out.

Nah we dont like your facts, we have our alternative speculative reports, we read it on twitter from some guy who gets paid to speculate, you are just a crotchedy ol'.......... er wait youngin

Source?

Exactly. I think maybe he might want out. I think maybe not so much now that Doug is gone. But that would be all speculation on my behalf not a fact by any means. I think he's thinking things over and spending time with his family and I think he's professional enough that if he does want out he'll keep that between him and the f.o. I also think he'll play here and be the best he can even if he can't get out.

Carson has similar beliefs as me but from what I know of him through his various outreaches I believe him to be a much better man than myself.

OK, since everyone wants this to be such a huge story, I'm sure lots of teams get calls asking who is available or what it might take to get a player.  You don't think the Eagles are working the phones trying to see what players they can bring in?  This again is a NON story.  So teams are calling the Eagles, who cares.  Now, if the Eagles were the ones calling and shopping Carson, now we have a story.

Breaking news, other teams want to bring good players to their teams.  Team with coveted players are having to answer the phone!!

I'm neither a Wentz Washer or  Wentz Basher.  I want what's best for the Eagles.  But I 100% hate the media anymore and just for that fact I hope the Eagles don't trade Wentz and all of their stupid speculations, reports and bogus reporting can be all for nothing.

You are just so blinded by the hate and rumors and rage, that you don't see it.  He will be gone soon enough and the Eagles will start their rebuild from way further behind than necessary with no quality replacement and a massive financial hole.   But, that chaos is exactly what you want, so enjoy it.

At this point, i just want it done, so we can move on to the next polarizing, imagination-induced, rumorfest.  It's been years, since we have had a quiet offseason.  It will probably never happen again.

He's in denial but his hate is definitely clear

STFU Blitz4Krieg.  Nobody know WTF you're talking about!

Sometimes I feel like this fanbase doesn't deserve a franchise QB
