I think our secondary will play and look better under Gannon. I'm excited to see what they'll look like week 1

I am hoping we actually get to see pre season football again, I'll be excited to see that even. Just to see us NOT give everyone 10 yard cushions  on 3rd and 5

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Until Carson reworks his contract he doesnt want out of philly.

If he wanted out THAT BAD, his contract would be reworked.

If I were him, it would depend on who wants to trade for him.  I mean he would have to like the idea of going to Indy but wouldn't want to go to the Jets or Texans.

No he can't. Not with the Eagles.

I thought he could payback some of his bonus?

He COULD lower his future base, and push the dead back some, to spread it out.  SO the team getting him would be paying less, makes his value higher.

Wild boars is too nice of a way to refer to feral hogs.  One of our worse invasive species.  Good eating.  Can’t imagine shooting crows, coyotes, mountain lion, bobcat, foxes, wolves or bears.  Scavengers and predators are under populated.

coyotes are not under populated and neither are black bears.

False.... well Kinda.

He can agree to reconstructive any and everything he wants. He hasnt done that. Banner has spoken about it numerous times.

So I apologize for using the wrong saying. Carson hasnt said he'd restructure and until I hear that(or the General managers hear that) he still wants to be in philly

He can restructure with his next team. There is nothing he can do to erase or lower his dead cap hit. First he would need to find a team willing to deal for him. Talking about restructuring is putting the cart before the horse.

Agreed. I missed preseason this year. Bye bye stupid stick defense as well

I forgot about that option as well.

And on another note I’m still waiting for you to tell me what’s wrong with Fields as a prospect.

I don't know that he's a that much better prospect than Hurts.

the only way wentz actually gets traded in my mind would take one of 3 scenarios

1) Wentz wants out so badly, he restructures his deal.... Only reasonable way I see him leaving, I give this about a 10% chance.

There is no restructure that can lower the cap hit the Eagles take on, none, nada, zero.  The team trading for him gets a good cap situation.

Flyers took a bad L last night

Unsure why Laughton was on the ice with less than a minute left.

The came out flat AF again in the first period

And although our 4th line is still better than the majority of the leagues, I cant stand AK and Raffl

I don't watch hockey. Lost interest after the lockout back in 02 I believe it was. I've seen a couple Stanley Cup games here and there. That's about it

Just knowing that Gannon has a higher priority for LB play is a welcoming change.

I have said since Flip left that Carson needed a real QB coach.  Nick got him one of those.   Plus, that QB coach doesn’t also function as passing coordinator.  Why he will have some input, just like Moorehead will, their primary job is teaching the mechanics of the job.  Thing with Carson is most of his faults can be fixed.   I don’t think he will ever be as accurate as Rodgers on long throws but not many are.   But the sailing balls and the mechanics are all fixable.  Flip had Carson on his way.  The hardest fixes he has are sailing balls and fumbles and those are mostly muscle memory and hero ball issues that can be solved.  Don’t you think Carson wants to be 2017 Carson again?   I do.  By the way, I think Hurts biggest issue is a bit harder to fix and that’s progressions.  He needs to trust his clock a bit more.

And if Nick really does design plays towards players’ strengths, then Carson and our young wideouts should prosper.

Plus, I suspect there is a decent chance that a good part of the OL will return healthy and they will continue to build bench strength and successors.  Good draft for that.

The things he can't fix I refer to are things like o-line and receivers. Carson needs to fix the "Carson" issues and he can

It can't be done. Trust me. There are rules to the cap, and the dead money has already been paid to him. He can't do anything with how it's spread, that's now under the CBA guidelines.

He can lower his future base, which he will do with a new team. Lowering his base does nothing for the Eagles to promote a trade.

so he could not payback some of his bonus to get out:?

Yes, it will be much better when our CB's getting burned on go routes.  It's hard to be mad at them giving up 7 yard plays to the WRs when they are playing 10 yards off the ball.

I still don't want to see LB in the first round. I'd be ok 2nd or 3rd rd. I really want them to address the wr, cb, and online. Like actually fix those positions and not reach again. I would like to see the Eagles go after a guy like Anthony Walker in FA (Colts LB). He's a guy that won't break the bank imo

100% this.  How could you trust a coaching staff with a 25:75 run pass ration in the last 4 games you started.  How can you trust a coaching staff that called 6 designed roll outs over those same 4 games, when it is one of the strongest parts of your game.  How can you trust a coaching staff that thinks running flanker screens to Greg Ward is going to fool anyone.

Don’t forget the coaching staff that also ran a play where it was a back shoulder type throw to reagor against Bradbury or butler being used on 4th and goal on a jump ball being on the team for a week. Also don’t forget the great timing of running a trick play where ward passes the ball after they had been eliminated from the playoffs and with nothing on the line and trying to lose the game.

If Wentz leaves Howie made a very bad investment and he should be fired

Call me irrational if you like, but I'd prefer we cover both?

People swallow that Alshon was Josina's source without a second thought.  But they fall all over themselves to claim Mort and Schefter, the best in the business, are making up that Carson wants out.  Meanwhile its very possible that Jenkins was Josina's source.

Obviously people pick and choose which stories to believe based on their preexisting biases.

You’ll have to excuse him. He doesn’t typically have good takes to share with us, so he creates strawmen to help himself feel apart of the conversation.

For Eagles cap purposes, that is the only option to lower the Eagles cap number.   What is an acceptable dead cap hit to the Eagles, 20 million ??  If so, you think he has 13.8 million dollars laying around to just write a check ??  And in that scenario, he has to pay that money before the start of the 2021 league year.

Disagree again.

How is a women supposed to get hit on if the guys still think shes married.

Why would the Colts, Jets, Patriots call Howie if they dont know Wentz will restructure.

Like I said before, if it gets out Wentz is willing to restructure, then I'll believe he wants out of philly.

Untill then its Schefty throwing 20,000 foot, generic rumors out there to a local media station

Because the completion of the trade is contingent on him restructuring. This is how trades work every single time. Two teams talk, they set the parameters of the trade. New team talks with player/agent, they agree to a restructure deal. Deal is complete, everything is announced in one big news dump.

And in any case, of course Wentz would restructure with a new team. He keeps his money from the Eagles then gets more money upfront with a new team.
