Haters please come up with a different argument than if "he wanted to be here why doesn't he tweet it?" Maybe you could all unite somewhere and put together a new list. Personally I don't care if he wants to be here or not. Like him I hate about 80% of my customers but I still do my job.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Everyone know Joe Banner is the gold standard.

people have short short memories.

Just a few weeks ago, he was telling us how the Eagles would not have fired Doug if they already didn't have a coach lined up.  People think because he used to work with the Eagles, that he is tuned into them.

on the contrary- he is a disgruntled ex-employee

For you to tell me what makes a Fields a bad prospect. Eagles aside.

In one of his 5 season you can make that statement.  In his other seasons.

2017 - was the clear leader for league MVP before the injury in the Rams game, set the Eagles single season record for TD passes

2018 - set the Eagles single season completion percentage record

2019 - set the Eagles single season passing yardage record

So just for craps and grins, what would be the minimal compensation you'd be satisfied with in exchange for Wentz? Curious to see the spread here.

The rest of his unallocated signing bonus, the remainder of the salary cap hit  so whatever would cover that ( $49-59 mil total ) and a mid 1st rounder for the player himself. Take the loss and move on

This will never happen so he stays and tries or sulks, whichever is the real Carson Wentz

80% 🤨

If your job was an ignore list you’d be broke living in a card board box.

I don’t know about trusting the WRs or trusting the patterns coming out of the RPO read. I think Wentz would fare better with traditional drop back, like he did in college with a sprinkling of play action and roll outs. And for the football gods sake, getting the play earlier, breaking the huddle earlier with time for some motion to read the D. Doug and Press were awful at getting the play in.

As to the WRs, I really hope that Wentz and Hurts get together with them this offseason after the OTAs so they get to know each other better.  I see the possibility of potential with the ones we currently have.  I hope Butler, Jackson and Wilson join them.  I think we get a TE out of those three.  I really hope Jackson can catch.

i'm telling you - Cary Angeline, TE from NC State. He is from Chester Springs. late rounder or high priority UDFA.

i wonder if they get the "local" workouts this year??

I would say that you don't remember Bobby Hoying.

Somebody hooked us up with this dude's name and we found his facebook profile on the old board.  From what I remember from looking at his facebook, he was probably 5-8 years old when Hoying played here.

And just looking at Hoying's numbers, Carson Wentz was not in the ballpark of that bad in 2020.

how many times are you gonna have this conversation?    You are not entitled to know, he doesn't owe you or the media any explanation. Sorry, thats a child wanting candy in line at the store stomping his feet and screaming at his parent.

if he wants out why hasn't he tweeted it, or told us, or told the Eagles, or told his agent?

See that works both ways.

You have no idea if he has told the Eagles if he wants out (although he almost definitely has).

The reason he hasn't tweeted it is because he has carefully crafted public persona and he isn't going to tarnish that by making a public display about demanding a trade.

The most realistic scenario at play here due to the silence from Wentz and the refusal from the Eagles to commit to Wentz in 2021 despite ample chances since the season ended is that the Eagles and Wentz are well aware that Wentz wants out.  Eagles are on board with accommodating that request but want him to remain silent about it so that they can try to maintain some level of leverage in a potential trade so that they can actually get a trade done.

He doesn't, but he could without any effort and kill all of this speculation.  The fact that he hasn't with rumors of him wanting to be traded going on since before the season was even over tells the story.

But hey, you can be in denial about it and cling to this false hope that he is actually happy here and wants to remain on the team and the Eagles have no interest in trading him. That's your right.

But everything is trending in the direction of a trade.

All it tells me that players are away from the team and not available to the media unless they want to go out of their way.

There is nothing trending in the direction of a trade, once again, the Eagles are not going to take the biggest dead cap hit in NFL history.  Jeff Lurie will not want to be part of the optics of that, and the GM who hitched his wagon to him would have another, and the most major negative on his resume because of it.

You know what the 1997-1999 seasons for me are like a black hole. I can remember everything from 89-96 then it’s like those years were so bad I blocked it from memory. I don’t even remember watching Hoying. Thank God.

Do people really think Wentz wants to be back? There’s been way too much smoke on him not wanting to be back. Mike Garafolo said he’s heard his issues with the organization go deeper than Doug and he’s not all that happy here. Then you have Schefter who didn’t exactly make a report but I don’t think he’d have said he wants out unless he’s heard it. Thats two of the best football reporters out there. Then you have Wentz, who ALWAYS tweets people congrats and welcome to Philly, hasn’t said a word since they hired Sirianni. No, "welcome to Philly coach, let’s get it, can’t wait to work with you!” Nothing.

Not to mention Wentz’s feelings aside, if you’re the Eagles why would you even want him back? Unless you think he can get back to how he was in 2017, he’s not worth that contract. There’s a million ways this thing could go wrong if he stays and only one way it could go right.

I think he’s going to be traded. And also I think the Eagles would’ve been more adamantly committed to him in their public speaking if they weren’t open to moving him. Move on, and start the next chapter of Eagles football. Give Hurts a year to see what he’s got, and if he’s not the guy, pursue your next franchise QB. We’ll likely be picking top 5 next year anyway.

I am not sold on him. Like many College QB's he is a product of the system he is in, team he is on. College can be hard to judge true QB talent due to type of system,  how good the team is as a whole, how much is really the QB? VS how much is the scheme, players around them. Dont get me wrong the QB still has to execute and he did that. But I am not sure he has franchise QB capability.

To be fair, I really dont like any of the QB's coming out this year- #1 reason to hold onto wentz and make it work, I dont see a viable replacement I can think will be better.

Now I have been wrong before, and could be wrong.

Yup. He pivoted from

"Doug isn't getting fired"

Doug gets fired

"Lurie wouldn't have fired Doug if he didn't have someone already"

Lurie interviews over 10 people and ends up with Sirianni

"Lurie didn't hire who I thought he would"

Dynamite inside information right there.

The only one that cares about the optics of the dead money is you. The team is ready to move forward in a new era new rebuild with a new coaching staff. The best thing for this team going forward is to part ways with a disgruntled player that does not want to be here and is not a good influence behind the scenes due to his stubborn work ethic. Keeping an unhappy Wentz on the roster going forward for the sake of not wanting to have the largest dead cap hit so far in the NFL is only going to poison the well.

Lawrence and Wilson will have better careers then Fields. OSU QBs have bad NFL careers. Fields might not have a bad career but he won't have a good one.

I am sick of this narrative that he has played will in 1 of his 5 seasons, when in fact he has played well in 4 of his 5 season.

In regards to the contract, THE EAGLES ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THE BIGGEST DEAD CAP HIT IN NFL HISTORY.  Jeff Lurie will not sign off on the optics of that.

i find it funny people on this board state we shouldn’t draft from the pac 12 cause of the lack of success doing so. Meanwhile Ohio state quarterbacks for the last 20+ years have never panned out in the nfl except for pryor who became a WR. Not saying don’t take a QB simply cause he went to OSU but it’s funny fans do will do that with the pac 12 players and the ignore OSU QBs having lack of success at the nfl level.
