I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

The team is ready to move forward in a new era new rebuild with a new coaching staff. The best thing for this team going forward is to part ways with a disgruntled player that does not want to be here and is not a good influence behind the scenes due to his stubborn work ethic. Keeping an unhappy Wentz on the roster going forward for the sake of not wanting to have the largest dead cap hit so far in the NFL is only going to poison the well.

This is all your opinion, and there is not facts to support this from Jeff Lurie, Howie Roseman or Carson Wentz.

I am sick of this narrative that he has played will in 1 of his 5 seasons, when in fact he has played well in 4 of his 5 season.

In regards to the contract, THE EAGLES ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE THE BIGGEST DEAD CAP HIT IN NFL HISTORY.  Jeff Lurie will not sign off on the optics of that.

Facts- vs Feelings = Wentz wants to be/should be traded = Gingers suk debate.

I am not sold on him. Like many College QB's he is a product of the system he is in, team he is on. College can be hard to judge true QB talent due to type of system,  how good the team is as a whole, how much is really the QB? VS how much is the scheme, players around them. Dont get me wrong the QB still has to execute and he did that. But I am not sure he has franchise QB capability.

To be fair, I really dont like any of the QB's coming out this year- #1 reason to hold onto wentz and make it work, I dont see a viable replacement I can think will be better.

Now I have been wrong before, and could be wrong.

This can be said for any player any position coming out of college. Who knows how any player is gonna react to the NFL level?

Point is to get as much info on said prospect then make decisions. If your into the draft.

As for Fields he looks good on tape. Very good. He’s right there with Lawrence IMO.

Also just to make this clear Wentz has nothing to do with this discussion. I’m not basing any off him.

Fields was extremely highly rates coming out of high school also.  #2 QB and #1 dual threat

It’s also easy to use the sunk cost when it’s not your millions upon millions of dollars being sunk. It’s why it’s easy for some fans when money and millions of dollars aren’t coming out of their bank accounts.

I’m guessing another reason (amongst others) why you also here with every report the eagles don’t really want to trade him because if they do, they thought he was fixable, traded him for pennies on the dollar and he plays well elsewhere while lurie is still paying him that’s going to be looked at by lurie as a BAD business decision and not the way the fans who say who cares if that happens.

I’m not saying they don’t trade him. What I’m saying it’s not as simple as just saying who cares if we trade him and who cares if he goes elsewhere and plays well to lurie and the eagles

There is no facts, there is unconfirmed speculation.

Don't worry, we can be done discussing this when he is still on the roster in 45 days.

The only facts are the ones I posted that you continue to dismiss.

I heard on the radio today that Troy Aikman made a comment about Eagles fans have lost their edge since the SB win.

Anyone else hear this or seen it?  I couldn't find it anywhere and not even sure what the statement means.

Nah. Not a Howie type pick. Howie can’t show everyone how smart he is with a guy like Fields. Howie needs a Undersized fastball so he can say I told ya so.

I will say that I'm not necessarily sold on Lawrence as a prospect over Fields. Fields could end up being like DeShaun Watson.  Lawrence could end up being more like Wentz in terms of long term accuracy.  So much is dependent on where they land.

This is where we are different. My options are Wentz or try to find another franchise QB. Thats the reality. I dont see one in this draft, I dont think Trevor is the guy either.

I'd sooner court Dak than take a flyer on a QB coming out this year, but thats just me.

I didn’t say he was bad in those years, I said he wasn’t worth the contract. There’s a difference. He got paid like an elite guy. He did some nice things in 2018 and 2019 but he wasn’t elite. He had one season where he played at an elite level. His athleticism has declined, it’s so obvious in the way he moves and his accuracy, which was never good, has gotten worse. I suspect because his athleticism declined. He was always more accurate on the run, more accurate improvising. Which he doesn’t have the ability to do as well because when he runs now he looks lumbering as opposed to the agile and quick guy he was when he was playing at his peak.

What skill does he perform above average right now? Arm strength is it as far as I’m concerned. He’s horribly inaccurate. He’s not as athletic as he used to be. He struggles to read defenses. If we are gonna keep this guy and pay him that kinda dough, then he can’t have one skill that he performs at an above average level.

And I do think Lurie would take the cap him. Especially when he basically admitted the team is heading into a rebuild and likely won’t be good next season anyway. A one year hit is not that significant if it gets out of the contract completely.

Well Lawrence is landing in Jacksonville that’s almost a given.

At first glance I thought she was wearing an Eagles themed dress.  Oh well...

If we have to draft a QB at #6 I’d rather have Zach Wilson and his 5 foot crater dimples than Fields. But it probably would have to be a trade up.

I don't know about losing their edge, but reading the nonsense here since the end of the season, a good chunk have lost their mind.

You're in denial.  Time will tell.  No sense in talking to a wall that is desperately clinging to to a false hope that Wentz is happy to be here and the Eagles committed to him as the franchise starting QB going forward.  That's just not the reality and I can't wait for your attempted spin once the trade happens.

He’s right, not even one sell out game in all 2020

so you think the Eagles will take the biggest dead cap hit ever, and we will get back adequate compensation?

You believe a team likes Wentz ability so much they will not only take on his contract but give up a few draft picks in the process?

and then you believe- that somehow we will are assured we will find a better qb?

sorry you lose me with this kind of logic.
