I don't know about losing their edge, but reading the nonsense here since the end of the season, a good chunk have lost their mind.

Yeah I dont know what losing our edge means?  Is he saying we aren't as much of an A-hole that we used to be?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I heard on the radio today that Troy Aikman made a comment about Eagles fans have lost their edge since the SB win.

Anyone else hear this or seen it?  I couldn't find it anywhere and not even sure what the statement means.

Well if the well respected Troy Aikman said it, it must be true. I have lost my edge

better than the Dallas organization losing their edge since 96

You're in denial.  Time will tell.  No sense in talking to a wall that is desperately clinging to to a false hope that Wentz is happy to be here and the Eagles committed to him as the franchise starting QB going forward.  That's just not the reality and I can't wait for your attempted spin once the trade happens.

On this we all agree

Maybe you got sanded down due to wentz

I will say that I'm not necessarily sold on Lawrence as a prospect over Fields. Fields could end up being like DeShaun Watson.  Lawrence could end up being more like Wentz in terms of long term accuracy.  So much is dependent on where they land.

Lawrence should be in J-ville. Fields could go anywhere from 2-8 but no way he falls that far.

I know I might get slammed for this (and again nothing to do with Carson) but depending on how the board goes I would not object to getting Fields at 6.

How many PO wins does Dallas have since '96?

coyotes are not under populated and neither are black bears.

I agree on coyotes who seem to cohabitate with humans just fine.  Coyotes are good to control varmints.  We have one that ventures through town occasionally.  In some places, black bears are well populated but in many they are underpopulated.  Down here in the Susquehanna Valley we rarely see them and this is black bear habitat territory.  Coyotes and bears are canines.   Pretty broad territory.  My sister lives in the hill country in Tx.  Used to be bear and wolves around there and down into Big Bend.  Not anymore.  Some coyotes but not a lot.  But I am also pulling for the eastward mountain lion migration.  They have made it to Minnesota.  I hope we have the big cats back in the Allegheny mountains in my lifetime.

But I also hope they take out the dams and allow fish to migrate again.  Why I am a member of American Rivers.  Some of the best conservationists are hunters, like Ducks Unlimited.  My uncle sold the family farm to them.  It is reverting to natural prairie and has a couple small lakes on it that allow ducks to migrate through and have something to eat along the way.

I have no problem with hunting black bear (well helicopter shooting and killing hibernating bears ain’t hunting to me) and some predator control but allowing nature to balance is also important in my view.  So a few more coyotes eating eastern gray squirrels is a good thing in my mind.  The local red foxes and the town touring coyote are welcome to any of the tree rats that infest my yard.  They are also welcome to the rabbits and ground hogs.  They also do a good job on moles, shrews, chipmunks, mice and field rats. The red hawks in our neighborhood are welcome to those too.

Not in denial or clinging to anything.  You are the one clinging to speculation without one fact from anyone involved to back it up.

Fact. No confirmed report from anyone with the Eagles, Carson Wentz or his representation that he wants to be traded.

Fact.  Trading Carson would be a horrible look for Lowie, and they are not going to take on the biggest dead cap hit in NFL history.

Fact.  If for some reason they would be willing to take on that cap hit, ( which they are not ) if the guy is as bad as the people who want him gone say he is, the compensation is not going to be remotely close to make it worth taking on that cap hit.

Based on my track record with you, I am not worried in the slightest.

Frankly if they trade wentz I would actually just build up the rest of the team and let jalen hurts see what he can do in 2021. And that’s not because I think hurts is going to be a top 10 quarterback. It’s because I think you could build up the rest of the team while you’re likely not going to be very good in 2021 and the following year I think you might find a better prospect than the three after Lawrence. And by that point if you actually draft well you might have the team built up better around him for your quarterback that you draft to have sustainable success and the clock hasn’t started on his contract yet.

We already have a project qb on the roster with Hurts. We don't need another one in Fields

There are reports that the Eagles are taking calls for Wentz. I don’t think that’s something that leaks out unless the Eagles wanted to make the league aware that he is available.

I wonder how long America’s team sticks if they don’t win a super bowl for another 50 years

Trouble is the coyotes around here have just about wiped out the grouse population. I haven't heard one in the woods for quite a while let alone getting heart palpitations from when they thunder off just under your feet. As far as bears around here, they need to be reduced but they are still very difficult to hunt.

No offense the eagles should be taking calls on almost every single player on that team (exception some younger guys like mailata or if contract prohibits it like lane) considering they are going into a massive rebuild.

For the why hasn't Carson tweeted crowd, why are you all not as worried about Jason Kelce's status with the team.  He has talked about retirement the last couple of off seasons.  That would leave a huge hole, and a hefty dead cap hit if he walked away.

Why has Kelce not tweeted his intentions ??  Obviously he does not want to be here and has no intention of ever playing another snap for the Eagles.  If he did, he would have tweeted that he wants to be here and is putting in the work for 2021.

That could leak from one of the teams calling honestly

I am not sold on him. Like many College QB's he is a product of the system he is in, team he is on. College can be hard to judge true QB talent due to type of system,  how good the team is as a whole, how much is really the QB? VS how much is the scheme, players around them. Dont get me wrong the QB still has to execute and he did that. But I am not sure he has franchise QB capability.

To be fair, I really dont like any of the QB's coming out this year- #1 reason to hold onto wentz and make it work, I dont see a viable replacement I can think will be better.

Now I have been wrong before, and could be wrong.

It’s one of the hardest positions to figure out how their talent transfers to the NFL.  The talent around them, the talent they play against, did any teams get pressure on them and how did they perform?
Zach Wilson played against Northern Alabama, that team is 3/4’s community college transfers.  Schedule and conference wise obviously the best is the SEC. Alabama has been basically a pro team, but there’s a reason the last good QB drafted out of there was Stabler.
It’s been forever but no one at Florida could even teach Tebow how to throw a football, is that on him or his coaches?  Or is it Josh McDaniels fault, who coached one of the best QB’s ever, mechanically, in Brady, drafting him in the first round?  When common sense told you he was a 3rd - 4th round pick at best.

Arm strength gets crapped on all the time which is stupid, yes almost every Division 1 QB can throw a football 65 yards, but not every division 1 QB can do it with a low arc, or get it there in a hurry.  Vick was the abnormal one, his mechanics for a right handed pitcher throwing a football with his left, his release which is near Marino’s in timing, and his hip to shoulder turn with that arm strength made him an amazing thrower.  The fact he couldn’t read defenses, and was inaccurate with his passes makes him an anomaly.  One his TD’s against Washington from 10-15yds out was measured at 64-65mph, that’s unheard of, but NFL has tighter windows, WR’s don’t get the space in the NFL, like they do in college.

Fields is not Hurts. He’s a much better prospect. The Eagles took Hurts early. Don’t forget that he was a 3rd -4th round projected pick.

That's pretty one sided don't you think? It couldn't be that the teams that are calling are the ones telling the media that they're making calls?

21 minutes ago, Sack that QB said:

Do people really think Wentz wants to be back? There’s been way too much smoke on him not wanting to be back. Mike Garafolo said he’s heard his issues with the organization go deeper than Doug and he’s not all that happy here. Then you have Schefter who didn’t exactly make a report but I don’t think he’d have said he wants out unless he’s heard it. Thats two of the best football reporters out there. Then you have Wentz, who ALWAYS tweets people congrats and welcome to Philly, hasn’t said a word since they hired Sirianni. No, "welcome to Philly coach, let’s get it, can’t wait to work with you!” Nothing.

Not to mention Wentz’s feelings aside, if you’re the Eagles why would you even want him back? Unless you think he can get back to how he was in 2017, he’s not worth that contract. There’s a million ways this thing could go wrong if he stays and only one way it could go right.

I think he’s going to be traded. And also I think the Eagles would’ve been more adamantly committed to him in their public speaking if they weren’t open to moving him. Move on, and start the next chapter of Eagles football. Give Hurts a year to see what he’s got, and if he’s not the guy, pursue your next franchise QB. We’ll likely be picking top 5 next year anyway.

I think he would rather be traded but I don't think he would hold out if he's still on the roster. I also am not sure the Eagles necessarily want to trade him.  I think Lurie and Howie, on some level, would rather hang on to him.  I do think people are making too much on his no public comments on anything.  It just doesn't change anything.  I mean have Cox, Kelce, or Graham said anything? It's just asinine to point at his lack of public comment as being meaningful because it changes none of the reasons he would want to be traded.

The FO has repeatedly failed to address the inadequate talent at the receiver position.  They drafted a QB with a 2nd round pick last season.  He was benched this season after a terrible start that, in part, was due to a talentless roster and poor coaching.

That’s also a possibility, but that doesn’t benefit the other teams to make it known that there are multiple offers. Given the situation were currently in with Wentz...if he’s 100% your guy and you hired this staff to fix him then I don’t understand why they’d be willing to listen.

Fields style of play doesn't translate well to the NFL and has longevity issues. Wilson is the exception. He can throw a beautiful deep ball and outside the numbers. You can add Watson to the list as well. Fields is neither. I'd take Zach Wilson over him all day. This team won't be good next season and has bigger needs even IF Wentz is dealt which I doubt
