I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Maybe, or just maybe he doesn't feel the need to share his feeling about returning with a buncha morons. As Big E said he's not that vocal on twitter

It doesn’t have to be Twitter, but that’s the easiest and quickest way to get his message out IF HE WANTS TO BE HERE.

Keep in mind two years ago Wentz had a sit down interview with handpicked reporters after the season to respond to that Philly Voice story. This isn’t some guy who doesn’t at all pay attention to the noise. And the Eagles aren’t a team that ignores the noise either.

Hey guys  you know who else hasn't stated he wants to be in Philly since the end of the season.

Fletcher Cox has not come out and said he wants to be here.

Wait in fact I think the only player who did come out since end of season and say he wanted to be here was ERTZ.  Add Mills to that list

GUYS our whole team except ERTZ and MILLS,  WANTS TO BE TRADED

No one is saying that rumors or whatever would disappear into the night’s sky, but there is zero doubt it would take the temperature down quite a few degrees. His silence makes it worse.

It’s clear he isn’t 100 percent wanting to return to Philly. I think it’s wild that people can’t acknowledge that his silence means something. You guys are burying your heads in the sand here.

It's really odd. This board/thread is a little echo chamber completely disconnected from the world outside of here.  Things obviously aren't great between Wentz and the Eagles. To what extent is up to debate but his silence, the rumors from very legitimate people in the business and Lurie and Rosemans select choice of words when discussing Wentz as an asset make this really undeniable that there is something going on between Wentz and the organization.  Also Sirianni refusing to really comment at all on if there would even be a QB competition or if Wentz is his guy despite having over a week to review the film before his press conference (and no doubt he reviewed film and presented his plan for QB as part of the interview).

Don't forget Jalen Mills....he isn't even an Eagle anymore but he wants to be here.

I edited Mills in, you are correct I do recall him stating that.

I think it's hilarious that you READ into the situation, like you are. Wentz was never a guy who has a ton to say publicly in the first place. He may not be happy in Philly, or he may only have been unhappy with Doug, he may be just unhappy with the media and the fans who listen to the unsubstantiated reports (which I could completely understand, in which case he is trolling all of you)

the thing is, only Wentz knows. and some of you are like little petulant children about the fact that he isn't telling you.

Thats hilarious, and if I am Wentz, I am doing the same thing. All that matters is what Wentz tells the Eagles and what they tell him. We KNOW Sirianni had talked with him. And the fact that his agent hasn't asked for a trade SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME...

You’re conflating things. I’m not mad he hasn’t told me what he wants to do. I just think he’s being stupid if he wants to be here and hasn’t reiterated that in some public way.

You are bing obtuse, and it’s a completely dishonest comparison. You know it, and everyone else knows it.

IF HE WANTS TO RESPOND. I'll give you that it's reasonable to believe that he hasn't made his mind up yet about anything. I'll not give you that for sure he doesn't want to be here just because he hasn't responded. It really is none of anyone's business that isn't directly involved with the team and they don't seem worried about it.

As to the Eagles, has Lurie responded to criticism that he may be racist because of the coach he hired?

Thing is though that Wentz has already established that he will comment on reports and rumors on him.  After the 2018 season he gave statements on the Joe Santawhatever his name is article.  He disputed parts of it while acknowledging there are areas he could improve as a person at.

So it wouldn't be out of character for him to address these rumors and say now he is happy to be here and excited to get to work with Sirianni.

They had some lean years, 2010 was Bradford, and the next QB taken was Tebow at 25, 2015 had Winston and Mariota. 2014 was Bortles, Manziel and Teddy B at the end of the first.
IIRC most of us liked Teddy B over the other two.
2012 is the year, Luck and Griffin to start, Weeden, Tannehill, and Os’wiper, all taken before Cousins, Wilson, and Foles.

I definitely understand his uncle not wanting to post here anymore

If someone made that call, Howie would be working on ways to totally fleece him.  Any GM how calls with an offer for Gerry is an idiot.

Obviously lol. I was just being sarcastic in response to Godfather saying Howie takes calls on every player.

We have to stop with the "as long as the Eagles know” or "it isn’t anyone’s business to know.” Of course he doesn’t have to give us his thoughts. The point is if he wants to be here the smart play would be to say so and to calm things down a bit. I truly am baffled that anyone would disagree with this. Him not responding to this groundswell of speculation either directly or through his agent is bad business if he wants to be back. And because it’s such a bad decision, I can’t imagine that he does know for certain he wants to return.

No kidding.  Can you imagine the beating he'd be taking as many of our fans show their true colors?

this is about the most logical and reasonable post I have read today.

Did I not just give you that it's reasonable to think he hasn't made up his mind what he wants to do?  That said just because you think it's the smart play doesn't mean that he or anyone else in his camp agrees. The prior 12 weeks of Carson stinking out the joint with braindead/awful play, along with a couple of inconsistent seasons before that, are more than enough to warrant a permanent change.

Anyone refusing to acknowledge that is the one with the agenda, one of putting Carson Pyrite above the team.

Not only do I hope Wentz isn’t physically washed, I would hope that Howie gathered a bunch of professional opinions before possibly setting the team back several years. 2017 did happen and if he can get back to that physically then you keep him at this point, just might have to ride him is all

People would seriously just not believe him if he said he wanted to stay 🤷‍♂️

If they can have games, practice and the like then they can have camp.  You have to wonder about some of the decision making that goes on, especially with the amount of testing they go through.

NHL and NBA the coaches are on the bench wearing masks while the players are in contact all game long.  NBA players sweating on each other but the bench is spread out so they sit 6 feet apart...please explain how this makes sense.

I think only 1 FBS team didn't play this year so you had college athletes playing a full contact sport all year long yet they can't figure out a way to have 300 guys go to the combine?

No Pro Bowl (not that any of us care). Despite 17 weeks of NFL football plus the playoffs.

Still so many Covid related decision making questions to be answered.

I think it is more of the union trying to protect the players, but also trying to reduce the number of days in camp or even eliminate mini-camps.  The union tends to represent the more powerful players more than the rookies or players hardly making much money. Many people were surprised that the play wasn't very sloppy at the start of this season compared to other seasons with camps.  A lot of players would probably vote for reducing camp and eliminating mini-camps because they don't want to put in all that extra work and time when they feel they can still play well without it.  The pandemic also gives them the added excuse of safety, which is valid...but I don't think it is the only thing dictating this.  As I said, once they decided to travel and play games and deal with the risk of all of that, then it takes the excuse away from a practice with the same pod of players.

Really.  Why would you be baffled that a bunch of adult male's are not stressed because an athlete did not put out a statement to appease our feelings.

Carson and the Eagles will speak at a time that is deemed appropriate by them.  The only people stressing about this seem to want him gone.  The folks who want him here, and know he will be here are not worried.  He has a contract to play for the Eagles in 2021, that is all I need to know.

Not saying anything right now (if he wants to return) is such an unbelievably bad decision that I don’t believe for one second he’s being quiet just because he feels like it. In fact, his silence is why this keeps getting worse.
