Hey guys  you know who else hasn't stated he wants to be in Philly since the end of the season.

Fletcher Cox has not come out and said he wants to be here.

Wait in fact I think the only player who did come out since end of season and say he wanted to be here was ERTZ.  Add Mills to that list

GUYS our whole team except ERTZ and MILLS,  WANTS TO BE TRADED

That’s only because Ertz doesn’t "care” anymore or never cared. I’m not sure how that works.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

We have to stop with the "as long as the Eagles know” or "it isn’t anyone’s business to know.” Of course he doesn’t have to give us his thoughts. The point is if he wants to be here the smart play would be to say so and to calm things down a bit. I truly am baffled that anyone would disagree with this. Him not responding to this groundswell of speculation either directly or through his agent is bad business if he wants to be back. And because it’s such a bad decision, I can’t imagine that he does know for certain he wants to return.

sorry I completely disagree with you. I am baffled how anyone thinks he owes us an explanation.... Like F no he doesn't.

and no, all that matters is what the Eagles and Him talk about, what they tell each other. I am completely utterly baffled how this is somehow not a realistic view to some.

The "groundswell of speculation as you call it" are a few media types and a bunch of fans....   take a look at how many of us arent worried about it. then realize there is always a silent majority.

I would think they could open camp to at least some degree. If you can play games and travel from city to city, then I don't see why they can't open at least somewhat for camp. It's the same players in a group which is easier to manage vs. teams playing other teams. Maybe scale the practice sessions down.   I'm guessing this is more of a NFL and NFLPA agreement issue, then the NFL just feeling they can't open.

NFLPA wants to move on from or at least limit minicamps. NFL is basically saying "yea, sure, whatever" since it saves them money.

Did I not just give you that it's reasonable to think he hasn't made up his mind what he wants to do?  That said just because you think it's the smart play doesn't mean that he or anyone else in his camp agrees. I don't know what he wants but his silence only makes me think he doesn't feel the need to respond to anything right now.

well he hasn't said he wanted to be traded yet, so why speculate he does?

the door swings both ways

Not saying anything right now (if he wants to return) is such an unbelievably bad decision that I don’t believe for one second he’s being quiet just because he feels like it. In fact, his silence is why this keeps getting worse.

We'll just disagree on that. I'm sure the team knows what his intentions are. Unless of course he really hasn't made his mind up yet.

He’s under contract.  He agreed to be here through 2024.

Your position strikes me as almost equivalent to a wife saying "Sorry honey — you didn’t say anything about being home at 5:00, so I went ahead and married Roger here”

Some wouldn’t. Many would.

OK let me ask you, Has Wentz or his agent asked the team to be traded?

Really.  Why would you be baffled that a bunch of adult male's are not stressed because an athlete did not put out a statement to appease our feelings.

Carson and the Eagles will speak at a time that is deemed appropriate by them.  The only people stressing about this seem to want him gone.  The folks who want him here, and know he will be here are not worried.  He has a contract to play for the Eagles in 2021, that is all I need to know.

The people stressing, getting hostile and trying to attack people in here are the "adults" in this thread that are of the opinion that Wentz is happy and wants to be here and are steadfast in their belief that there is no truth whatsoever to anyone suggesting otherwise.

Did I say you should be stressed about him saying something or not? I’m simply saying his silence means something.

yeah it means something, but you cant say for sure it means what you think it does. You are not him, he is not you.

Not only do I hope Wentz isn’t physically washed, I would hope that Howie gathered a bunch of professional opinions before possibly setting the team back several years. 2017 did happen and if he can get back to that physically then you keep him at this point, just might have to ride him is all

This is the reasonable take. Anyone that wants Wentz gone at all costs is the one with the agenda. If you want what's best for the team you want the qb that we've invested millions in to return to mvp quality. Also those without agendas can usually go two or three posts without calling people or players by the childish names they've made up.

Find one time I said he owes us an explanation.

Bolded is false.

2018, set Eagles franchise record for completion percentage.

2019, set Eagles franchise record for passing yardage.

I don't know how that is considered regressing.

2020: Lead the NFL in INTs while starting 12 games.

2021: MVP!

2022: HOF!

Lets go!

The people who want answers are carrying on like they are entitled to something.  There is not one report that Carson or his agent have requested a trade.  Schefter had to walk back his first tweet, and said the following

On 97.5 TheFanatic on Wednesday morning, Schefter clearly wanted to make a few main points:

1. The report was mostly common sense

2. The information did not come from Wentz nor his agents

I can and I have. 🙂

It does mean something. We just disagree on what it means.

It means something to you, and is causing you to create a false narrative.

What it means to me is he will speak when he and the Eagles deem the time to be appropriate, and he is under contract through 2024 and will be the week 1 starter unless him of his agent say otherwise.

Technically he will or won't be the week one starter depending on what the Eagles say.

Its that simple.  No more debate needed.

False narrative?

Some wouldn’t. Many would.

Many would believe him? Do you truly think that?

Players who could potentially not be with the Eagles next year due to cap situation or retirement who have said nothing.

DeSean Jackson

Alshon Jeffrey

Malik Jackson

Derek Barnett

Jason Kelce

Marquise Goodwin

Obviously they all hate Philadelphia and do not want to be with the Eagles.

Not acting like we are entitled to anything.  Just pointing out that Wentz has all the ability and opportunity to to put an end to this rampent speculation but the fact that he hasn't speaks to the nature the situation.  He already established two years ago that he would speak out during the offseason to address rampent rumors about him. So the fact that he isn't now as this noise continues to build and grows louder says something.

But who knows. It could be that Wentz does want to remain here but he wants to be given the starting job and not have to compete for it and he wants Hurts traded.  There could be demands he wants that the Eagles aren't willing to give into him.  What is clear though is that there remains issues between Wentz and the Eagles and unless they find a way to somehow resolve them then the possibility of a trade is out there.  Whether that is Carson's wish or the organizations we likely won't know until after the fact.

Without getting into the weeds of breaking down a percentage of who would or wouldn’t believe him, I think enough would to at least take the heat off him. That doesn’t mean it will end trade speculation because the Eagles aren’t curbing it either.
