If Howie can somehow land Watson his reputation would be totally redeemed. Wentz could be a good fit in Houston.  Especially since they got a culty holy roller running the show

Why do you believe it’s as simple as trading contract for contract and player for player?  The NFL salary cap doesn’t work that way.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What are you talking about.

He has gone on and on with everybody for days that Carson Wentz has to speak, he won't shut up about it.

Man, I had actual work to do for 2 hours and I see 15 or so new pages, and Wentz wasn't even traded.

Manu I just think the facts don’t back you up on the silence.  Carson doesn’t shun the media but he doesn’t go out seeking them either.  He wasn’t obligated to do an end of season interview so he didn’t. Who can blame him?  The Philly media isn’t exactly gracious or polite in their questions.  They are more like junkyard dogs chasing a slab of meat.   Carson just came off his worse season.  He hit rock bottom.  Would you want to talk to the Philly press or go home and get yourself straightened out?

So he goes home to rural Texas.  I spend a lot of time in rural East Texas.  I can assure you that there is no Philadelphia media there.  Even the NFL Network, ESPN and the internet requires Hughes Network and goes out in thunderstorms.  So I doubt he is getting a lot of this media hype out on the farm.

I also researched his Twitter today.  He just doesn’t post much and very little football related. Heck his NRG, Bobcat and a couple other paid sponsor tweets at the least equaled his football related tweets. And since he did not tweet welcomes to Taylor, Wallace, Driscoll, Hightower, Wanogho, Bradley, Watkins and Toohill, I guess he doesn’t like their being added to the team.   Judging by his YouTube and Instagram film ad photos of his using his Bobcat, I can only conclude that he wants to retire and clear brush with his Bobcat all day long.  The media on that is deafening. (Sarcasm intended.)

I suspect Carson does as much media as the job requires and no more.  Smart move for anyone dealing with the Philly sports media.   The only thing that Carson’s silence has done is convince me how bad speculative press has gotten in the Twitter age of sports journalism.

The fact is after the 2018 season he spoke to hand-picked reporters about the Philly Voice story. He was under no obligation to do so but chose to do it.

Why? To help control the narrative and to help move past the story.

This isn’t about Twitter or about social media, this about Wentz and his team knowing they could do something to calm the firestorm and doing nothing about it. The only logical reason for that is that there’s truth to it.

Lol. Now that’s a false narrative.

I saw 200 plus responses when I logged on and thought something crazy happened.

Was he at the facility daily, was media access available daily ??

Right now the players are away from the team, IT IS THEIR TIME.  When the players come back, he will speak.  I would not interrupt my vacation to respond to this nonsense if I was him.

On the old boards, there was an evening for me where douglas704 was trolling so hard that I couldn't catch up reading the pages and gave up.  This was almost like that

naaaa.....you always good on citing sources and sticking to football...

If I were Wentz that is how I would take it and it clearly is how he took it.

Otherwise it's just an absolutely awful waste of a 2nd round pick by Roseman for someone that they only intend ever to be a backup for the team.

QB factory accept it. Hurts as a rookie much better backup then Sudz but I guess there in lies the problem. Top of your head who would you have picked at that spot last year and maybe Carsons too ?

We have to stop with the "as long as the Eagles know” or "it isn’t anyone’s business to know.” Of course he doesn’t have to give us his thoughts. The point is if he wants to be here the smart play would be to say so and to calm things down a bit. I truly am baffled that anyone would disagree with this. Him not responding to this groundswell of speculation either directly or through his agent is bad business if he wants to be back. And because it’s such a bad decision, I can’t imagine that he does know for certain he wants to return.

No sign the team, from the FO through the new coaches down to the players are agitated, so what exactly needs to be calmed down?  The media frenzy?  Looking at this offseason, if I am Carson, I feel it is my job to win.  Every time I had a change of boss, I felt the same way.  While I had my job through the transition, until I won the job with my boss, I had to win it.  I am sure he is saying all the right things to the coaches and vice versa.  Within the next month, after reviewing film, is the job assessment when each of the players will hear from the coaching staff what they need to do in the offseason followed by assessment from the new strength and conditioning coach.  Carson will be one of the first.  How that goes may impact how he feels about the Eagles going forward. I suspect that the conversation will focus on what he is comfortable with in an offense.

Its been chippy, too.  The other UK got fed up and left a couple of hours ago.

Never said that honey. Just a simple speculation. Sorry I’m not 100% realistic

Not sure if this is allowed here but Fanatics sent me a 3XL green Reggie White jersey for no reason and they don't want it back.  Am I allowed to ask if anyone on here wants it?

Howie definitely would not redeem himself by eating $34M, trading away draft picks, and bringing in a malcontent who wants to dictate to Lurie who the next GM should be.

I think we need a thread/topic like that.  I just moved and found some great gear to get rid of.

Since I’ve stirred up the hornet’s nest, let’s play along with BLG above. If Reich isn’t interested in Wentz, what does that say about Wentz?

I feel like you are craftily fishing for suggestion of posters who would fit a 3XL, that's not very nice.

Sure why not?

Why not just pin it up on a wall someplace if it doesn’t fit?

I thought about having my sister make it in to some sort of Eagles quilt for my nephew but why not ask to see if someone wants it.

I think  an Eagles gear swap/selling thread would be a cool thing.

I have gobs of Eagles Digests somewhere that I don't need, old Eagles media guides that I'm sure someone on here my like for their collection.

It could suggest that the owner would rather bring back a QB he knows in Jacoby Brissett.

It could suggest they would rather draft a younger QB.

For all you know Reich could be banging the table for Wentz but the owner and GM would rather draft a QB, and that will never come out.

What is suggest to me is Myth's Mclane is continuing his smear campaign against Wentz.
