My only concern is that the team ends up in a qb limbo because they don’t take a qb this season when they have a top 10 pick. Of course, turning the page will probably but them in a position to pick in the top 10 next season.

Honestly, I don't worry about that. Look how the Chiefs got theirs. It doesn't always have to be top 10, though I think we'll be in the top 10 a few more times over the next 5 years. But even otherwise, you can always trade up if you're willing to pay the cost.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If Fields is there at 6 I’m pulling the trigger. He’s got a Russell Wilson vibe to him imo.

On another note, Mac Jones is definitely going round 1.

I’m trying to tell em. Fields is a different QB he’s not Haskins. I got a good feeling about this guy.

Dungy now piling on with the race-baiting, specifically mentioning Lurie.

Regardless of whether that claim has merit, it seems a bit tone-deaf coming from a homophobe.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.”

I love Tony Dungy but he is doing the polar opposite with Lurie that King dreamed of.   He should not hire positions based not on qualifications but on racial background. He ignores that Culley, who learned his trade in Philly, just got a HC position in Houston, that Duce continues as an assistant HC, that Dino Vaseo, who started his career here was just named DB coach by the Texans.  That Johnson, who has a bright future was just hired as QB coach, a position that frequently leads to OC or even HC.  That Barry, who we had at an executive position for a year is a GM.  No Tony, the racial balance of coaches and FO employees matches the US population not the player population.  That is not a bad thing.  That’s diversity. But hire based on perception of skill, leadership and ability. Let race not be a factor, either way.

Question:  Currently, AR has an elite team.  Does it hurt Bienemy that an AFC (or maybe even an NFC contender team) might think, I like Bienemy but no way am I going to risk giving KC two thirds by hiring him?  There is this ________guy that I like equally well that won’t enrich another franchise if I hire him syndrome.

Fields got a chance to play against an NFL level team in the championship and he looked pedestrian.  Sorry, but the last time I was excited by a Big Ten QB was Russell Wilson.

Ya know Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Patrick Mahommes never even made a national championship. It’s a weak argument right? That’s the same as complaining about how he looked In one game.

I like what I see when I watch him play. I see a big arm QB who is accurate and can run. He’s not a one look and run Type he goes through his reads and accurately makes his passes. He still needs to learn how to read a defense but he’s gotten better and I feel under the right coaches he can be very good.

Here I was, thinking 3 of the 7 General Manager hires went to black candidates.

I don't trust any college QB these days, playing in one look RPO/spread type systems.

Most QBs flop b/c they can't read a NFL defense, not because they're not great athletes or lack a great arm. And it's hard to determine which college QB will develop into a top ten NFL QB = and if you're taking a QB in the first 10 picks, that should be your expectation, otherwise build a team and add a veteran middle of the pack QB.

No point in clicking. Every time a 'black" coach gets hired it will never be enough. The next story will be why more are not hired. Its a one sided racist topic. Your either with the black lives matter movement or you are racist and need to be educated. Best to block it out and live life like it should be. All lives matter.

We are i a really scary time as Americans.  It seems that the term racist and now white supremacy is being thrown around at anyone who doesn't agree with you.  They are now attaching Christianity to white supremacy.  Our freaking military is on a 60-day stand down to confront white supremacy.  It's getting absurd and out of hand.  Sorry this should be in CVON but Dungy and anyone else saying the Eagles are racist are just adding fuel to the fire.  The Eagles have added 6 black coaches under the new staff.  Not good enough and never will be.

I don't know what Justin Fields can be but one thing's for certain is the guy proved he can play through pain.  That rib shot he took was no joke.  He battled and played pretty well.

I don't think the Eagles should trade Carson but if they do, and they get a 1st then by all means, a QB in the first along with a defensive playmaker wouldn't be bad.

There is a kernel of truth however, there is a strong Evangelical Christian aspect to many of the White Nationalist groups, White Nationalists are a bigger threat than Muslim terrorists (have killed far more Americans since 9/11), and White Supremacy is the ideology of many of these White Nationalist groups. There is also some pure craziness, but what does it tell you when Green is spouting nonsense like "Jewish lasers starting California wildfires." Qanon isn't a couple crazies, there's a large following, the Capital riot was not spontaneous, while many were drawn in, there were also some elements that had planned the attack. Put it together, and it's not surprising authorities are on alert against a real threat to "law and order."

On behalf of the black delegation, that is still racist 😄😄

Just find you amusing. No safe space needed here. Been a long time member on here and have never seen your name before today. All this thread is is a smaller version of TATE inside TATE. You act as if you’re some intellectual superior here and it’s laughable.

Sorry, you have not been a long time user in the Blog if you haven’t seen apto before.  Don’t really recall you at all.  As to here, here only existed since last April. The Blog was a driver to achieve here and it has been around since it was created almost twenty years ago.  Pretty sure that Apto has been here most of that time.  Only a few of us go back that far and you aren’t one of them.   Get off your high horse and either contribute to the discussion or lay off insulting a long time poster.

650k vaccines administered in PA and 46k to " out of state”.  WTF.

I don't get too uptight about the vaccine distribution, there's no simple way of distributing literally 1+M doses a day that are highly perishable (use it or lose it).

I'm going to wait until later in March, I'm eligible in the first group but am happy to let first responders and those over 70 and with severe conditions go ahead of me.

When Walgreens has plenty of doses, then I'll go in for my shot, just like my flu, pneumonia and shingles shots. Just add it to the list.

Honestly this is not the year you want to have to determine your future with a franchise quarterback in the draft. Unless you’re the Jacksonville jaguars and you have the number one overall pick in Lawrence, the other three leave a lot to be desired. Add on the pandemic and scouting these guys this year is not like any other year in the past. There’s so many variables with this particular college season due to the pandemic. On top of that the draft process it’s going to be much harder to evaluate with the pandemic going on then in a normal year where they could do what they did with wentz, foles, mcnabb and even hurts. And that’s really not even discussing the prospects themselves which I’m not overly impressed with any of them.

My opinion really has been this if they decide to trade Carson Wentz, just let Jalen hurts have this year to show you what he is unless they absolutely love one of lance, Wilson or fields. Frankly I don’t think Hurts good enough to get you to where you want to be which is a Super Bowl. However rather then just selecting a quarterback at six because you feel that you’re picking at six and need a franchise QB I rather build up the roster. I’m only taking a quarterback there if I absolutely love one of those three kids and not desperation cause we want a franchise QB. I much rather just build up my team knowing we’re headed into a rebuild or in a rebuild and then next year determine where we are at QB and as a franchise. And then with hopefully more talent on the roster we can see who’s available QB wise in the draft and make the determination if we should go get our guy (or maybe Hurts surprises us and we don’t)

I'm really hoping the Eagles go with a youth movement and trade away anyone 30+ with value, aside from maybe the OL, because it'll be hard to evaluate any QB if you can't protect them.

And to me, rebuilds don't necessarily have to be painful. I mean, of course most rebuilds have losing. But I do think following a young team as it organically grows and improves from year to year can be a fun thing. Watching the development of individual players. It's actually one of my favorite things to do in sports. To watch a team grow when it starts out as a baby and then in however many years it's ready to contend for a championship.

Right now the Eagles have a weird mix of young guys who aren't all that special and veterans who will be past their prime when the team is ready to contend again.

I have a great interest in seeing how this staff does, but I still dread Howie picking personnel, and still feel that’s going to hurt this staff in the process.

6 hours ago, NCiggles said:

If the team trades Wentz, they should move every veteran they can with few exceptions. I could see the benefit of keeping some veterans like Kelce or Graham but they need to completely overhaul the roster.

Once he's gone, the door has to be swung wide open and there needs to be a major youth movement.  The hardest part of that is trusting Howie to do that effectively.

Just caught up. There were some very like worthy posts since I was here yesterday unfortunately I'm still out of likes......................sorry.

That said I'm still not buying that that the Eagles have put Carson "on the block" I think they are fielding calls and if someone gives them a decent return then maybe he goes. Part of the reasoning might be to clean up the mess started by Howie.

I like Carson but if he goes, he goes. Not sure how many years of watching crap I can put up with though. Howie has taken what should have been a quick re-tool and turned it into a cluster.
