Just caught up. There were some very like worthy posts since I was here yesterday unfortunately I'm still out of likes......................sorry.

That said I'm still not buying that that the Eagles have put Carson "on the block" I think they are fielding calls and if someone gives them a decent return then maybe he goes. Part of the reasoning might be to clean up the mess started by Howie.

I like Carson but if he goes, he goes. Not sure how many years of watching crap I can put up with though. Howie has taken what should have been a quick re-tool and turned it into a cluster.

That wasn't Howie... it was the one armed man!

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Sounds Iike your position might be shifting a little. But at this point, it should be clear Carson won’t be able to return to this team. It’s disappointing based on our hopes and dreams for him, but it’s over.

My position hasn't shifted 1 bit. But I have also lived through players that I've liked leaving. So if he does I'll move on.

I really dont see this at all.   Why cant he? His issue was with Doug, and he has a new coaching staff? The money almost dictates he comes back. The eagles hired a new HC to keep wentz. I see it the other way around, I think it's clear it will be hard for him NOT to be here in 2021.

I wanted to like this, but like you a few hours ago, I have no likes to give.

This is my position, if he goes, oh well. However, I think it would be a HUGE mistake to give up on him. It is way to hard to find Franchise Caliber Qb's, and even harder to get them.

There's no point with these guys anymore. They see no other option than for Wentz to leave, no matter how much logic you throw at them. The consensus seems to be that it's likely he's back, mostly due to the contract constraints, but also to see if the new staff can salvage him. There's certainly a chance he is traded, and if so, we'll move on and begin to assess the situation.

But as soon as you mention he might be back, the anti-Wentz brigade loses their minds, and add nothing new or valuable to the discussion. It's boring at this point.

I don’t understand this at this point. He’s going to be traded because he doesn’t want to be here not because we necessarily want him gone. Most folks here wouldn’t have a problem with him coming back and losing a QB competition to Hurts (or maybe play up to his talents and resume his role as a top 3 NFL QB).

Sounds like you really want to go down with the ship on this one? Well, it is sounding like we won’t be waiting for a resolution for much longer.

Correct.  44 days until he is still on the roster March 20 and this discussion is over.

Your consensus is based on the echo chamber of Washers in the blog.

Out there in the real world, the consensus is that pyrite is gone.

It’s Super Bowl week and I’m re-living 2017 okay?

I think we can all agree on a few things:

-some of us like Wenz and think he can be a very good QB again hoping he stays

-some of us like Wentz but think it's best to part ways and have a fresh start

-some of us don't like Wentz and want him gone

-we haven't heard a peep from anyone inside the Eagles organization except for media opinions that Carson is a bad teammate, uncoachable and wants a 1-way ticket out of Philly

-we also haven't heard a peep from Carson saying he wants to be here

-no one knows what teams are actually offering for Carson

-this was 100% avoidable and the fault of the Eagles starting with Jeff Lurie and Howie Roseman

-Jalen Hurts added a "spark" in late 2020 but we have no idea what he can be

-Howie Roseman sucks (except for AFan who loves him)

-there is no clear cut pick at #6 (Kyle Pitts is the only sure thing!)

-no one knows what the Eagles are going to do

-the sooner this mess is figured out the better for all of our sanity

You must have missed what Malcolm Jenkins said. Or perhaps the numerous articles dating back to two years ago where anonymous sources said similar things. Maybe you don't subscribe to the theory that where there's smoke there's fire.

Give me a 1st in 2021 and a conditional pick in 2022 based on Wentz’s 2021 performance (escalating anywhere between a 2nd and a 4th) and I’m happy to move on. Colts are the ideal trade partner.

I’ve come to the realization we’re going no where with this awful roster over the next couple seasons, so might as well move on from Wentz over what should be a couple rough years and see what we have with Hurts.

If they decide to trade Wentz (likely, IMO), what is the minimum compensation that we should take?   A 1 and 3?  Is it so bad that we don't get a 1st?  So many questions.

And what do we do at QB?  In the short run, we can probably survive with a much cheaper and lower ceiling Hurts in a rebuild season.  This is what worries me the most.  Good, high upside QBs don't just fall in your lap and we may be giving one up.

Living with Hurts at QB sounds painful to me, but we can deal with it for a season.  He has a ton of growth needed to be a viable every down starter.

1st and 3rd is the minimum in my book

At best he would be the starter for next year. And yes Hurts huggers that's just my opinion.

It sure would be nice if he returns to that form. If he does,  I dont see it happening here unfortunately.

Feel like there’s going to be bad news for you. I’ve been of the thinking for a while if they were ever moving on from wentz that Hurts was the insurance plan and the guy going forward. They view him as their Russell Wilson (guy in round 2/3 where they believe can be a franchise QB) and didn’t want to miss out on him. That’s what they’ve alluded to after they drafted him.
