I'd agree, especially with the retained financial penalty.   This it's "cross your fingers" time that Howie can figure out the correct usage of the resources (unlike most years).

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Feel like there’s going to be bad news for you. I’ve been of the thinking for a while if they were ever moving on from wentz that Hurts was the insurance plan and the guy going forward. They view him as their Russell Wilson and didn’t want to miss out on him. That’s why they’ve said multiple times.

If they view him as Russell Wilson, this organization is in deep, deep, deep trouble.  I hope that I am wrong about Hurts, but I do not see it.

If they decide to trade Wentz (likely, IMO), what is the minimum compensation that we should take?   A 1 and 3?  Is it so bad that we don't get a 1st?  So many questions.

And what do we do at QB?  In the short run, we can probably survive with a much cheaper and lower ceiling Hurts in a rebuild season.  This is what worries me the most.  Good, high upside QBs don't just fall in your lap and we may be giving one up.

I don't think the Eagles have much choice. They almost have to move him. They effed this whole thing up so bad, and Wentz for his part as well. He's not blameless, but I think nail in the coffin was Hurts. Either way, the more I think on it, I don't see any way Wentz can come back. Send him to the Colts for a late round 1st (my guess) and then draft a fireman with that pick.

Wentz sounds like a PITA to try and coach. He's overly sensitive, hard headed and stubborn. You can mitigate some of that by coaching him HARD. Everything else falls directly on Howie's shoulders. This team and franchise is a mess.

2022 1st does it for me.

Then Id see what I can get for Hurts, Cox, Lane, and Slay.

Maybe. It honestly wouldn't surprise me. I like Hurts, but you better knock the draft out of the park to support him or we're looking at a few seasons with only a few wins.

All of these premier QBs has a strong A type personality.  Just like in any professional business, those people are the hardest to mentor, but they hold themselves to a higher standard of knowledge and performance.  I don't read much into the comments about his personality, except that he and Doug's personalities didn't mesh.

You aint getting shite for Hurts

What value do you put on Hurts?  He didn't show special skills in his 4 game tryout and was a 4th/5th round projection that was overdrafted by Howie.  Would a 5th work?

What do you see in Hurts that you "like" ?

I don't think that will be Solomon's answer

They said made that comparison (to the situation) after they drafted him saying they basically didn’t want to miss out on Russell Wilson (didn’t say his name to avoid tampering charges) again like they did in 2012

From howie’s presser:

"In 2012, we had a vision. We had a vision that we would draft a quarterback who's been extremely successful, and I don't want tampering charges on me, but I think we can understand who that was, and then come back in the fourth round and draft a quarterback who won a world championship for us and go back-to-back. And I feel like we got a little cute. And I don't know that there's a big difference between taking the 53rd pick in the draft and taking a pick in the third round if you feel strongly about a guy."

"I don't know that there's a big difference between taking the 53rd pick in the draft and taking a pick in the third round if you feel strongly about a guy," Roseman said.

Sounds like you really want to go down with the ship on this one? Well, it is sounding like we won’t be waiting for a resolution for much longer.

We will be sure to rub your nose in it

Most likely.  But most of the haters in here, love Hurts because he's not Wentz and for another reason.....it's plainly obvious.

Agree, that's why I wanted an answer from someone that isn't a hater

There is Russell Wilson.

Then there is a poor man's Russell Wilson.

Then there is Hurts. What is he? A dead man's Russell Wilson?

That quote is defensive Howie and shows he didnt learn and doesnt grasp there is a huge difference in opportunity cost

winning made him too confident and he cant admit errors. Throws good money after bad

If Fields is there at 6 I’m pulling the trigger. He’s got a Russell Wilson vibe to him imo.

On another note, Mac Jones is definitely going round 1.

If Wentz is gone, the correct move is to draft a QB.  I am not convinced about Hurts.  I think Wilson or Fields have better potential.  I agree that Mac Jones is going to go in the first.

Yep, that's the guy we have running our draft right there.  Mr. Reach!

I mean all picks are equal in the eyes of Howie.

Scary concept from a guy who misses far more often than he hits on picks.  Clearly, I don't know as much football as they seem to, but as a fan on the Big12,  I do not see it one bit.  They can coach him up all that they want, but when you need to win with your arm, Russell Wilson has always been able to.....Jalen Hurts not so much.  I want to be wrong and I get a feeling that we are about to find out.

I like fields alot. If you deal wentz i am fine with taking him or the ND kid.

honestly have not watched enough of BYU or NDak. Yet

I think any deal with Indy should include the rights to Andrew Luck.  I mean what's the harm.

Don’t look at me i didn’t draft him. I think his ceiling is middle of the road starting QB like 13-18 range which i don’t believe is good enough to win you a super bowl. The eagles likely disagree. So you are likely to get 2 years out of Hurts before he proved us wrong on here or they either realize he’s not the QB they think
