You aint getting shite for Hurts

What value do you put on Hurts?  He didn't show special skills in his 4 game tryout and was a 4th/5th round projection that was overdrafted by Howie.  Would a 5th work?

That depends if I'm buying or I'm speculating what some moron GM who believes in reinventing the wheel with a running QB might give up.

As a buyer, I'd be interested in developing Hurts as a backup QB who can make something happen with his legs when your game-plan falls apart with the starter out.  Afan will tell you that's worth a 2nd.  I'd give up a 5.

Would some GM give up more in an effort to make him a franchise QB in the Jackson/Mayfield/Murray mold?...or in a misguided belief that he's a baby Russell Wilson?  Maybe.  I think we could luck into a 3rd.  You probably could have flipped him to some sucker for a 1 after all that ridiculous hype when he beat the Saints.

The issue is the embarrassment of flipping an immensely controversial 2nd round pick for less value after 1 year.  Only a new GM who didn't make the pick would do such a thing.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Nice try but that article from 2018 doesn't even come close to what you are claiming.

Also this is from the same article

"On the season, Wentz is completing a career-high 69.7 percent of his passes while averaging 282 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions in nine games. Wentz only threw seven interceptions last season in 13 games."

Again, you can use search engines for yourself.

But it's not surprising that the last time he got mechanical help (2016 offseason, he blew up in 2017).

I hate how Kelce hasn't come out and said if he's retiring or returning in 2021. Can we trade him too?

I think the writing is on the wall there too.  Kelce doesn't want to retire.  If he did, he would have done it already.  He also doesn't want to play here.  If he did, he would have said it already.

Much like Wentz, he's still waiting for some dust to settle.

And yes...if Kelce actually WANTED to be traded (to a team of his choosing) so he could extend his career with a non-rebuilding non-dumpster fire situation, I'd be happy to honor those wishes and get some mid round pick in return.

You made the claim so you use the Fing search engine.

You want a 5 for a guy we sent a 2 on? Roll with him as either the starter or a back-up is what I would do

I legitimately think we could get a 2 from a team like the Patriots. At the same time, your point is spot-on. Trading a 2020 2nd for a 2021 2nd is just bad business.

If Kelce retires or leaves, would love Creed Humphrey in Round 2. Especially if the Eagles pick up an extra 2 via a trade down in Round 1.

Be good to know his status prior to the draft.

I'm saying I'd give up a 5 for Hurts as the buyer.

Image result for creed

If the Eagles can get a 1 for Wentz they should be elated.

Of course. *Every* team in the league would do that.

That's why he's worth more than a 5.

Sure so we wouldn't get squat for him which is what I said

I want a 1st and a conditional pick.

If they get less than that he shouldn't be traded

I'd trade Wentz for the 1.  If you could get something nice for Hurts, get that too.  I'd even trade back into the early teens in hopes of snagging a 2022 1st.

Then scout the crap out of the college ranks (in a season where everyone plays) and kill it with a monster haul of picks next year.

The ones that this is really bothering are those like you that are trying to reach for everything that you can to justify your denial about the Wentz-Eagles situation.

The primary discussion here is whether or not you are entitled to information.  I fully expect him to be here as the week 1 starter, and until he or the Eagles say otherwise, there is nothing to discuss.

What I keep diving into is everyone's need for him to say something.  HE DOES NOT HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING, YOU ARE NOT OWED ANYTHING IN REGARDS TO A STATEMENT.

Absolutely

Wentz for Nelson or Leonard straight up. Let's do this:ph34r:

OK, I really think Carson can regain his 2017 form and don't wish to trade him.  However, if they can get a 1st and change for him that is very hard to turn down.

If that's the case I hope they don't go QB with either of their round 1 picks.  They should get an impact player on both sides of the ball.  You can get a top WR with pick 6 and maybe a linebacker with the 2nd 1st.

A guy I like in the 3rd-4th is Kellen Mond from Texas A&M. He just competed and made plays for the Aggies during his career.  If they are trading Carson then they are eating a ton of money.  To have a starter in Mond or Hurts for 3-4 years on a rookie salary will go a long way in easing that dead cap pain.

I'll get some flack for this but I also really like Ian Book in the later rounds as a backup.  To me, he's the perfect backup quarterback.  He would come in and make some bad plays but also make plays to spark the team.

I've been on that bandwagon for the last 2 years. Humphrey looks legit

That would be the return. His contract is big and bloated. His season was one of the worst ever for a starting QB in his 5th year. And, he has an injury history. There is no way they would get more than that. I would be surprised if they could get more than a 2nd to be honest.  He's better than Goff, but his situation is similar to Goff in terms of a big contract and lack of recent performance. The Rams had to give Goff away.  I think Wentz will fetch more than Goff because of his MVP run a few years ago, but that was still a few years ago.  But, it is absolutely unrealistic to think the Eagles are going to get similar value to what they had to give to get Wentz originally.
