And here I thought there were critical thinkers in the Blog....naw, some rando high school football coach puts out a tweet and this place blows up with rampant speculation. Insanity.

Idk i was really hoping for the foles return. So that we can to turn on hurts with every bad play and call for foles. It’s would basically be like we are in a loop but with different name at the starting position

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yeah and they aren’t giving up on hurts cause he wasn’t great after 4 games. Personally i think his ceiling is middle of the road starting QB but they clearly think otherwise to draft him and what they said after drafting him.

Funny this is likely a plan they had in place if wentz was out over the next 2-3 years they’d have their plan B in place and ready to go. I just don’t think they anticipated it would spiral down as fast as it did.

I see him as limited, but he has intangibles that could help him win games. They need to surround him with decent talent.  I think they give him this year. If this team stinks, then they will most likely get a top 10 pick next year which they could use towards a QB. I'm not big on a lot of the QBs that are going high in this draft.

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! please, go ape-crap on Les Bowen for linking Wentz's lack response to something.

I've talked to an NFL source, not w/the Eagles, who hears a Wentz trade is close. That isn't first-hand information. I do feel that the longer we go without Wentz saying something like "I'm happy to be an Eagle and excited about playing for Nick Sirianni," the closer we get... -- Les Bowen today

Lol. Did he prove yet that the rest of the team didn’t say anything on social media cause they didn’t want to make wentz look bad?... yeah that tweet doesn’t prove what your ridiculous logic was. But good try.

see your argument was "the rest of the leaders and team said nothing on social media cause they didn’t want to make wentz look bad”. Which was largely our argument. Please inform us all how that tweet proves your theory correctly about why they haven’t. I’ll wait...

but thank you for allowing to live in your head rent free. Enough to come on here and try to call me out even though your theory has yet to be proven with that tweet. I’m guessing they aren’t trading him cause he didn’t make a tweet lol.

I think you are looking at his "following" (people he follows). His followers are a bunch of rando non verified people.

No, he's followed by Ben Fennell, Solak and a few others in that quasi media scouting realm.  It doesn't mean he's right.  It just means he's not some complete random nut job.  I mean I don't care whether he's right or not.  I do tend to believe teams are making offer for Wentz.

One bad season and the sky is falling - obviously there are a lot of kids here who take winning for granted.

Should have been an Eagles fan in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s until Lurie bought the team.

If it takes two years to get past the post-SB hangover, big deal.

Since the Giants won their last SB, two winning seasons, one PO appearance in 9 years.

In the 25 seasons since the Cowboys won a SB, 12 winning seasons, 10 PO appearances, no NFC championship games

In the 29 seasons since the WFT won a SB, 7 winning seasons, 6 PO appearances

In the 18 seasons since TB won a SB, this is the 3rd PO appearance.

In the 17 seasons since Car lost a SB, 6 PO appearances, 1 return to the SB

in the 22 seasons since Atl lost a SB,  8 PO appearances, 1 return to the SB

In the 14 seasons since Chi lost a SB, 2 PO appearances

Minnesota, 7 PO appearances in the last 20 years

In 22 years, SF made 6 PO appearances, 2 SB loses

And so on, only a few franchises win consistently, NE, GB, PIT and SEA.  Even Balt only made the PO 1 in the next 5 seasons after they won a SB

Going to give you a couple things it’s not one season

with 2017 season:91-84-1

without 2017 that decade: 78-81-1

so maybe 2017 is the biggest lightning in a bottle to have happened to the eagles that decade. Cause the rest of the decade they were a below .500 organization. Hmmm which is more of the norm: 9 years of slightly below/slight above average football or one great year?

also please inform me what franchise QB have the eagles drafted, signed and developed to become a consistent franchise QB year to year since mcnabb (if they trade wentz it’s basically admitting he isn’t a franchise QB they thought)? So a decade of searching for their next mcnabb-esque franchise QB and they have had a couple outlier mvp type one year seasons with wentz, Vick and foles and yet here we are still going to be searching for one.

You are going to have to completely re-write your narrative that this was all Doug's fault and it's an easy call to bring in Sirianni to fix former MVP Wentz.  Now you'll have to spread some of the Doug blame to Wentz and initiate the Hurts fluffing.  You did mention that you don't think Hurts projects as a good passer in the NFL, but we'll have to gloss over that.

Well we do need a cheap backup QB if we trade wentz.

Afan errr Dave spindaro: you want spinny spinny?

Howie/lurie: yeah let’s do it

Don't know what this means but Lefkoe trashes Wentz pretty constantly.

Someone from here should make up a false tweet and then paste it here so we can have some good LULZ.

That wasn't an argument, it was speculation because the question was posed as to why other team leaders/highly compensated players haven't publicly made statements. It certainly did, however, fuel your need to be right and gather your posse to talk about me, as "he" as if I'm an idiot for having an opinion that differs from yours. I never personalize the interaction and you did which is a jerk thing to do but pretty much the low bar to which this place often sinks.

To your question, It was not an attempt to prove a theory. It was speculation with regard to why other team leaders haven't spoken up in support of the recent changes. That's it. You taking it and creating the narrative that it was some kind of hard fact statement does nothing other than manipulatively serve your argumentation. You can cite "moving the goal posts" again and I can give you a link to all the other logical debate fallacies but that would be a waste of time. I respect the work you do with post game analysis but the way you address others on this board sinks to the level that often makes this place nothing other than a spat between mutual admiration societies.

Please use the ignore feature for me. I will as well and live without your rather well done post game analysis. Bye.

Lefkoe called out the Eagles multiple times, including the night of the draft, for picking Reagor over Jefferson.

I’d do it, but with my -12 followers, no one may it seriously.

Foles, Allen Robinson, and Roquan Smith is the minimum I take in a package for Wentz.

Lol. I never called you an idiot. I said your logical was dumb. And that’s true. You decided to be like yeah it’s wentz’s fault those guys didn’t make tweets and post cause they didn’t want to hurt him. That’s absolute BS and ridiculous statement. So yes it was dumb logic. Not you are dumb but the logic was dumb. Yeah that was a major part of the back and forth then you decided to completely change it too leadership in other areas which was never what i was discussing with you. You moved the goal posts to other leadership issues.

dude you tagged me. How about you just put me on ignore instead of telling me to do such. Lol. Like if you dont like my posts or responses guess what that’s on you. And you can ignore me. As you just tagged me like a hot shot trying to prove a point. Yes you want to talk about bringing the board down meanwhile you decided to mention me for what reason but the reason to try call me out right days later? And it still didn’t touch on the main part of your argument i had an issue with was your justification for why other players were saying nothing. That really screams you aren’t having some type of agenda... Soooo people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones when talking about bringing the board down with that mention and what you just tried to do.

i don’t have a problem with you or hold a grudge against you. You clearly do based off our last discussion. I do have an issue with your ridiculous logic that other team leaders making $100 million (along with 85% of the team) shouldn’t be called out by others for not welcoming a coach (only wentz) and then saying it’s wentz why they didn’t. That was my argument. Heck i even agreed with you when you said if you posed it a differently in your original statement i wouldn’t say you were off

You're cherry picking, the beginning of the decade was the end of a 11 year run, 9 of 11 PO seasons, 5 NFC championship games and a SB, under AR.

So after that, 5 winning seasons, 4 PO appearances and won a SB - and that's a problem?

There are maybe 5 franchise QBs in the NFL at any one time (and a bunch who have a couple good years, then are replaced by a new set of guys who have a couple good years).

McNabb was never a franchise QB, he was a good QB with a great offensive HC who schemed around his limitations.

It would be nice to go on a decade run like we had under AR, or Seattle under Carroll, or NE under Belichick, or PIT under Tomlin or GB with Rodgers. 27 other NFL franchises have the same wish. More realistically, if Sirianni can last ten years with 5 PO appearances and a SB appearance, he'd be well ahead of the pack.
