If wentz goes to the bears he's gonna hate it even more. If you thought Doug was inept at offense you haven't seen how bad Nagy is.

Nagy basically coached Trubisky into a somewhat effective starter at the end of last season.  I don't think he's that bad.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Offensively, yes. Pitching wise, no.

I live an hour south of Chicago and no one here likes nagy as a coach. If you watch the bears play calling its bad

Hurts presence cannot be ignored.  If they trade Hurts away, will Wentz be happy to stay?  Granted, Hurts won't bring much back for the team.  But he is a lot easier to trade.  Drafting Hurts and who drove that decision remain the most puzzling questions.

Mosher did a good job outlining this today about if the eagles brought back wentz and hurts. The dynamic is ridiculously bad for wentz or any qb in that situation really. The issue bringing back both would be anytime wentz plays bad or has a bad play fans will scream for hurts. Even if wentz won the competition to start fans will claim it’s only cause he is owed big money. Additionally they’ll say see he doesn’t want to be here that’s why he made that play and didn’t work hard enough this offseason cause he wanted out.

I actually suggest listening to their podcast today. It was legitimately one of the better ones and caplan didn’t do his usual i have something i can’t say though. He actually gave you info he had

Just to point out here are all the teams the last 10 years from 2010-2020 who had more wins this decade then the eagles:

New England, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, seattle, New Orleans, Baltimore, KC, Denver, atlanta, Dallas and colts

so they had the 12th most wins that decade. that is slightly above the middle of the pack cause there were teams 1 or 2 wins away from the eagles being 16th-18th range which is right in the middle and that was with a great 2017. I don’t think it’s all that far off to say they were average for most of the decade outside of 2017. If 2017 never happened we’d have an entirely different view of the 2010-2020 eagles. We are fortunate for that season based off how the other 9 years went. All I’m saying is we completely view the eagles differently that decade of football if 2017 didn’t occur. And frankly it’s beginning to look like the other 9 years of that decade was the new norm not 2017 .

Sure, but those teams didn’t really have the playoff success the eagles had. The ravens, pats and chiefs, and I suppose broncos would be teams id consider just as good as the eagles run. The pats are in their own category of course. But a Super Bowl win IS a huge deal, which I think you’re downplaying a bit.

I did watch a bunch of Bears games.  I don't think it was as bad as Doug's.  I think they had a lot of limits at the QB position.  Also, look at Trubisky's completion percentage over the last part of the season.  He was near 70%.  Nagy was giving Trubisky plays he could execute well.  That didn't happen all season with Doug.

I mean it's been up and down.  It looks to be down next season.  We won a Super Bowl and I would have traded 5 winning seasons under Andy for one.

Packers and Seahawks also won a super bowl. Seahawks got to two Super Bowls.

the super bowl is great that doesn’t dismiss the other 9 years where I’d argue they weren’t remotely close to be a true contender. besides maybe 2018 and really i think 2018 was fluke due to a double doink to advance and cousins choking in a meaningless game for the bears.

And if it’s just about SB titles in an era the giants got one in 2011 and were basically eh the rest of it.

im not taking their SB away from them but to ignore the other 9 years were very success is something i don’t buy. I think personally think the rest of the decade was more indicative of how they truly functioned as a organization. And if it continues down this road we are on it likely would confirm that.

The 2020 eagles: "Hold my beer."

The up and down is more consistent with an organization that turmoil, power struggles and spats repeatedly outside of 2017. Hve a good 2010 then back to back down years due to FO power struggle, reid off field issues ans other things  Kelly great first year. Second year it began to turn and they really got a win week 17 that was a meaningless game to make it 10. Then complete dysfunction and 7-9. Doug comes 7-9 and building towards something. Win a super bowl. Then dysfunction begins again where we have leaks and foles debate. Then more leaks and turmoil with coaches ans FO and wentz and Mr. anonymous  and then bottom out 2020

I’m not taking away their super bowl. Can’t ever take that away from them. My point was more 2017 was not indicative of the eagles entire decade. The norm for the eagles without that 2017 was an pretty average organization. This is the franchise QB can cover up a bunch of warts on the field. But when you look closer they are there. Just covered up.

All i will say is the last 3 seasons after the super bowl (22-25-1) are eerily similar to the first 6 seasons before 2017 (56-56)

What would be the epic end to this is that you start hearing and seeing breaking news alerts, and then you hear or see

" The Philadelphia Eagles have traded quarterback Jalen Hurts "

I would die laughing.

I would also rejoice to the high heavens as this would be a dream scenario.  Not only would the Eagles get rid of the QB that can't throw, but they would have also taken the next step in actually acknowledging they made a stupid mistake by drafting him last year.  Something they never do.

They’d spin it like they didn’t make a mistake.

Mistake? What mistake? There's no mistake here. The only mistake is that you are very much mistaken.

😁

Ready for the Hurts era.

If we trade Wentz and draft Fields, I'm jumping off the Ben Franklin

Honestly if/when they trade wentz, they’ll have the biggest spin on it during the presser. Mosher nailed it when he talked about it in the podcast using well this happened with New England too.

With Mills likely gone, this secondary needs a severely delusional DB. Wallace stepping up.

Oh they will try to spin it. My issue is that ok so we may get a decent trade value for Wentz. We may get a first, perhaps a little extra too. But it's Howie making the picks!
