Kind of off topic, Twitter is all a buzz with the emergency broadcast system for the Trump take over nonsense again.

What do you think happens first.

The Trump conspiracy theory of getting back in power through the insurrection act, or Carson Wentz is traded ??

Maybe the trumpers are planning a trump take over with the insurrection act again because of wentz or him not speaking on Twitter saying congrats to Biden

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with your post but in fairness:

- Vick - cost the team nothing to acquire and played at an elite level for at least one season and several games mixed in.

- Kolb - they dealt Kolb for a 2nd round pick so a win-win situation there, imo.

- Young - Didn't cost the team much for a backup QB.

- Foles - Had a pro-bowl season (Pro Bowl MVP) with the team and came back after he was traded to win a Super Bowl as Super Bowl MVP - Homerun acquisition (both times) without question.

- Wentz - franchise QB, had a near MVP season in 2017.  Granted, the 2020 season was bad but if he can come back and be 80-90% of the player he was in 2017, he could be a starter for years to come.

- Bradford - I wasn't a huge Bradford fan but they ended up dealing him for a 1st round pick so no harm, no foul, imo.

- Thorson - 5th round pick - he'll likely be among the 80% of 5th round pick QB's that might not make it in the NFL.  Not really a "bad pick"....just a numbers game.

- Hurts - Tons of potential, showed flashes of brilliance but as a rookie QB, needs to continue to refine his game.  Showed that he can win and that he can get the team behind him.  I'm still very high on Hurts.

- Sudfeld - How can anyone complain about Sudfeld?  They got him for nothing and he's been a backup on an inexpensive deal for the past 4 years.

The point was none of them became a franchise QB. They had successful picks but none became that consistent franchise QB. and they found some competent backups/fringe starters. The point wasn’t well foles was a good pick or acquisition twice. It was do you believe they can find a consistent franchise Qb. They have shown they haven’t for a decade since mcnabb left. And they paid 2 qbs as if they were in Vick and wentz ans both if wentz is traded never became that consistent franchise QB even though they paid them like it.

Typical Andy Reid.  Enabling a dirt bag with no football experience to be the Chiefs LB coach. LOL.  Wow.

Must be doing something right, considering he's the reigning Super Bowl Champion, headed to his 2nd straight Super Bowl.

Welp. He belongs on the Chiefs.  Cause Andy likes to enable his dirt bags.

I was always fine with Wentz being quiet.  But thanks to those social media moves, if Wentz is NOT traded, he’s going to have some explaining to do.

Something like:

"I'm sorry that I didn't reject all of these negative reports about me."

Wentz could be 40, blind and in a wheelchair, and it would be a more likely trade for multiple draft picks than whatever random Trump insurrection conspiracy is out there.  They give Trump way more credit than he deserves, but somehow he still lives rent free in their minds. and will way beyond the grave. I suppose if CNN or Maddow tell those people there is a conspiracy on Twitter, the people on Twitter will create it right?

Although the Eagles drafts have been slightly below average for the past decade or so, the one area they have been "above league average" is with QB's.  Fans seem to forget that QB's (out of all positions) have the highest "fail rate" especially after the 1st round out of all positions. Take a look around the league and name me 10 teams that have done a better job (overall) with QB's over the past 10 years. And I mean consistent, starting caliber QB's for all 10 years.

Amazing one day mclane says reich isn’t interested in wentz and the next day colts are the likely landing spot.

Jones wasn’t good in Jacksonsville. Douglas can’t play man coverage. He simply wasn’t a fit. You seem to skip over that for some reason.

I was so excited about Jones. Thought we got a steal. So disappointing

I don't think they will use the 6th pick on a QB. Unless they think they're special. I hope they don't because I don't think anyone but Lawrence is special in this class. Just roll with Hurts.

I've said before, you can't be afraid to wait for the right moment to get a QB in the NFL. Teams who rush it screw it up. You don't have to take a QB just because you don't have one. You take one because you think they can be elite. That sounds like a novel concept, but I don't think many teams stick to that logic. I do think some owners and GMs feel the heat, are desperate and mandate their team takes a QB early, even if they don't think they're great, and hope they turn out to be good. That's how you wind up with Christian Ponder and Haskins and Daniel Jones, etc.

If I'm the Eagles I'd be perfectly willing to build up my team and when the right opportunity to grab a QB you feel can be elite strikes, you go after them. We'll have our chances, I don't expect the Eagles to be good for quite a while.

I agree that obviously they shouldn’t draft a QB unless they absolutely like him and think he could be a franchise QB. That’s not just the eagles though, most teams act that way. There’s at least 3 QBs this draft that are projected to be franchise QBs and will go in the top 10, the eagles may be one of the teams that project them that way as well.

While I agree they won’t be good for a while, I highly doubt they will be drafting this high again in the next few years. As dysfunctional as this team seems, our history under Lurie tells us they will get better and at least be average next year.

Those special QBs you speak of almost always go very early in the draft. It would be VERY. Difficult to get one when you’re drafting in the teens.

Dui in 2008, also locked up for a road rage incident

That's just his second DWI offense. He has other arrests as well

Have they found a franchise QB? I know they have paid two yes 2 quarterbacks $100 million dollars to be it and yet here we are. So answer the question do you believe they are capable of finding and developing a franchise QB? I sure as hell don’t. I believe they can acquire QBs and make then solid QBs or backups

Also i don’t care about the rest of the league. The eagles haven’t done so and made some major miscalculations with contracts given out to QBs they thought were (assuming wentz isn’t if traded). So again if it’s hard around the rest of the league and the eagles haven’t done it yet makes me believe there’s less likely of a chance they find one with how they’ve hit the last decade since mcnabb

Let's hope there's obstacles. A new coach. A crappy GM and a awful "QB" who is really a RB that can sort of throw. Who's excited for next season? I know I'm not.

If true, Wentz would do better in Indy vs. Chicago. Chicago's fanbase is pretty tough, too.  It's not his kind of town...Chicago.

I'm not going to get into this on a message board so I'll end it with this....fans have no idea how Andy Reid raises his children and deals with his family.   His family dealt with the unparalleled tragedy of losing their son.  That would just about destroy the majority of families in the country. And the ones that make it through will deal with the tragedy for the rest of their lives.

It's easy to throw rocks when a family is down.  But bashing Andy Reid hours after his family is dealing with another tragedy is in poor taste, imo.
