I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Might as well throw Hurts in the deal for Watson. Can't have two QBs on this team, people will turn on Watson after 1 bad game and be chanting for Hurts. Don't want to hurt Watson's feelings.

Greg Ward can be our backup if Watson goes down.

Sounds good to me.

Pretty good.  They're playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday. :P

Poor Claude has just dropped off the cliff.  He is a face off and PP specialist now.  Loved him and his game.  Never a great player but a really good one for a solid decade.  Passionate player and a good captain.  I've argued this a bunch: their lack of team speed is killing them.  It impacts their forwards back checking allowing teams so many odd man rushes and wide open 25 foot shots with opponents crashing for rebounds with nobody obstructing them, they get caught from behind in the neutral zone disrupting zone entries, impacts the dump and chase as they are routinely beaten to the puck.   Good thing they have good goalies.  What they did to Hart in the last 9 minutes and OT on Wednesday was pathetic.   He should have broken another stick

I don’t think hart has played spectacular this year but he’s played well enough to win some of these games where the defense just completely lets him down. I thought the stupid penalties cost them on Thursday and they were some ridiculously dumb penalties. That is what bad teams do to lose games. And they basically for much of the season have gotten by playing lackluster and it’s catching up to them when they’re playing the better teams in the east like Boston and likely Washington

I also tend to agree I don’t think they have enough speed on this team. I think they’ve lack speed for many years it’s just a lot better than where they were for years ago. That doesn’t mean you’re awesome in that department.

ask for her giroux I hate saying it because I love the player he was. And I understand the emotional attachment to him. But you knew as he aged and having all these young guys on the team that his contract was going to be more of a hindrance to the next wave of Flyers hockey. You had to make a tough decision were you traded him away and got back pics and young players to match better with the current core you’re going to have for the foreseeable future. You now have And lack of prospects/picks you could’ve had if you just made the move a bit the bullet when you had to

How are we going to know if Clayton Thorson is or isn’t a good QB? We’ve only seen him in 3 1/2 games!

I don’t care about the reasons you had with foles. Also We aren’t talking about if he could be a franchise quarterback still. That’s not the discussion. And yet you keep avoiding the actual discussion we were having. You asked me how many years did the eagles get franchise level QB play. Not how many years did they believe they had a franchise QB.

Again Would you say in 2018 and 2019 WENTZ played at a franchise level quarterback play on the field? That’s the argument. Everything else in here is pure fluff.

and based off your reaction in 2019 and how you talked about it in 2018 I would dare say you didn’t think Carson Wentz played those particular seasons at the level of a franchise quarterback.

Statistically, yes, he played at a "franchise QB level" during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. (As a whole).

That said, most fans knew something was a little off during the 2018 season and he was dealing with his back injury.

2019 was an "up and down" year for him but on paper he was decent and I would take the way he played during the final 3-4 games of that season and the importance of those games as being "elite level".

Decent isn’t franchise level quarterback. 3-4 games isn’t an entire season. So 2019 is a no then.

And 2018 i didn’t ask statistically if he did. I asking do you think when you watched him that he did?

2019 is actually better than 2018 because he did exactly what you want your franchise QB to do and win during the home stretch and get your team into the playoffs.  Those final 4 games trumped every bad game he had that season.

2018 was perplexing to me at the time because I couldn't figure out why he was very good on paper but would leave plays on the field and come up short in the "win" category. Now I realize that it was what I suspected and that there was internal strife with the system/[play calling.  (At least that's when it began).  That said, although he wasn't "super elite" like he was in 2017, he was still among the top QB's in the league statistically so yes, he was at a "franchise level".

Omg.  I can't believe that you are AKTSCUALLY using this as an argument.

Ok I’m done with this.  You’ll come on here complain and blasting that wentz was not good for 12 weeks in 2019 to the point you wished they traded him but tell me he played at a franchise level that year cause he played like it for 25% of the season. Then you’ll use "statistics” of being a top half of the league QB (imo isn’t franchise level play — i consider top 10 QB play consistently throughout the season) to say he was but then tell me when you watched him you knew he was off, leaving plays on the field and not winning games. Have a good night.

Explain how hurts doing more with less is a bad argument. Explain to me how hurts is a slightly better Tim Tebow.

So how is the 2022 QB draft class? Because it's sure looking like Wentz is gone and if they roll with Hurts, combined with all the cap casualties, they'll absolutely be picking at worst top 10.

If he had Aaron rodgers and State Farm with the rodgers rate he wouldn’t need too. They discount double check it for you

@Br3 Tebow has two 300 yard games, including 1 in a playoff win

You're confusing "franchise QB" with "Elite Franchise QB".  There's only maybe 5 or so "Elite franchise QB's" in the NFL.  Most of other 27 are still "franchise QB's" (at least to some degree) who will have their "up and down" games.  The better half of those 27 will have more good games than bad games and would be considered "true franchise QB's"  So let's say there's another 13-14 "true franchise QBs"

Wentz was an "Elite franchise QB" in 2017 but went down to a "true franchise QB" level in 2018 and 2019.  In 2020 he he regressed and no longer played the way you would expect a franchise QB to play.

Tebow is an interesting comparison to Hurts...considering that Hurts has the lowest ratio of passing yards to rushing yards of any qb to start 4 or more games since Tim Tebow.

Ok true the stats I was looking at didn’t include the playoff game. Good for Tebow, for needing OT to hit 300 yards. I’ll give him that. What’s the other 300 yard game I missed

Omg now we are changing the goal post again to elite level franchise QB and true franchise level qb. Lol. You justify it anyway you want. Have a good night

Under this definition, the worst thing you can have is a non elite franchise qb.  That’s purgatory right there.
