 Not great

Meh, too early to speculate, imo.  Draft projections can swing dramatically in a year's time.  For example, last season they were stating that this year's draft was going to be very strong for defensive linemen,...and that position ended up being one of the weaker positions in this year's draft...at least according to most current projections.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

They also owe him a ton of money this year and next year to get out of. I guess because the Eagles might do it and the Rams did it they could. However is cap is 40 mil with dead money 49 for 2021. In 2022 it’s 41.6 million and 26.5 dead money. To me the bigger issue for Atlanta lately has been the defense is consistently god awful

Coming around to Parsons going at #4?

There's going to be a lot of crow eating around here if Hurts impresses next season.

Quantify "impresses”.  I’ll be impressed with 62% comp, 10 yards per completion, and 3:1 TD/INT ratio.

62% and the 3:1 ratio I agree.  But how many NFL QB's average 10 yards per completion?

If they do trade wentz, rolling with hurts is easily the best choice as opposed to taking a QB at 6.

Take a great player this year at 6 and roll with hurts at QB. If he sucks, we get another high pick next year. If he's good, it's a pleasant surprise.

I feel like they need a corner and secondary help more than LB since they have jones. I hope they do take parsons though.

32 or 33 this season.  62% and 10 ypc are still pedestrian numbers.  Hurts would be in his first full season, so I’m adjusting for that.

The defense under the new coordinator is still a 4-3?  If so, folks need to keep the entire "picking a LB" in the 1st round strategy back in 1988 or go sell it to teams with a 3-4 defense.

It’s never too early to speculate. People were hyping Lawrence well over a year now. There’s no one coming next year close to that hype. You can always adjust projections and expectations depending how things shake out but as of right now it’s not looking like anything great. Howell and Slovis are presumably at the top and don’t seem like anything special at the moment.

That's fair enough and it's always entertaining to speculate but my point is that it will likely look different come this time next year.

They hired pees so I’m guessing it’s gonna be a 3-4. However with how the nfl is today only in base for like 35-40 percent of the time

Well, if that's the case I can see using a 1st on a LB.  Even so, if they plan on doing that I would home they trade down a few spots for an additional 2nd and more.

I know.  I'm Irish.  Plus, I was watching The Quiet Man recently so I recalled that scene where Squire Danaher asks Feeney to write Sean Thornton's name in his book (after he bought White O'Morn out from under him) and strike a line through it.

My wife is with her mom tonight, so I'm watching Rambo First Blood Part 2.   I understand as an adult that First Blood is the best movie, but the music alone in part 2 is incredible!

"Hey Rambo.....You not expendable."

Would be great to get Stingley next year if we have a top 5 pick. My top target.

Dak and Ryan I'd argue are good QBs who looked better due to the talent around them. Imagine if say Wentz had Julius Jones the last few seasons!
Watson is still unproven, as is Mahomes and Allen, long list of young QBs who had a couple good seasons then got injured and/or went south.

Which proves my point, you may land one of these guys every couple decades, and picking high in the draft doesn't guarantee you anything, most flop.

Meanwhile, DAK and Warner, UDFAs, Brady 6th rd, Brees damaged goods, a times a QB falls into your lap.

Build a great team and hope to get lucky, otherwise find a good QB and elevate his game.

How much factually incorrect information and contradictory things can you pack into a single post?

I stopped reading after he said mahomes was unproven. Even if mahomes got hurt and was never the same he was still proven. Injury could change the trajectory of his career but that wouldn’t change the fact he’s been a top 3 QB in the league for 3 years now and proven such.

Whether you like Carson or don't.  Whether you wanted him gone or not.  There is one thing that we should be able to agree on...this organization is in tatters. It has poor misguided ownership.  It has a poor front office led by an inept GM, who has zero ability to identify talent.  There is no accountability for their failures.  The communication strategies are questionable at best.   Hopefully, this is the low point.  It is really rather disturbing.

Oh there is no doubt about that. I've actually taken myself away from the Carson situation for a day and here's where I'm at. He's a very talented QB who's capable, as we all know and have seen, but I don't think he's the elite talent we all hoped (few are). Last year was a mess and that goes for all levels of this organisation but Carson was really bad too. All these rumours aren't great and I do think there's some truth to them but the reality is we don't know. I don't think Carson is a bad guy, I think he's been a good team mate but I do think he wants out. But who can blame him for wanting out of this utter mess! He's going to end up, in all likelihood, in a better situation almost wherever he ends up.

We can disagree on his upside.   If he goes to the Colts with a coach he respects, a very high quality GM, and that current team, he will put them in the Super Bowl.  Anywhere that he goes, the their level goes UP.  When he leaves us, our goes down.  We are about to see what a failure this organization is.  When the media switches off of Carson, I suspect Howie and Lurie will be the next two in the crosshairs.

I have been saying that he was gone for weeks, so this apparent end does not surprise me.  He is inside of the mess that we all see.

Yeah I'm not sure he's going to put them in the SB but look he's going to improve them going forwards and they were already a good team so I don't entirely disagree there. But yeah this is a monumental failing by this organisation there's no doubt.

Middlekauff is a former Eagles scout under Roseman. Really interesting questions about Wentz' skill, personality and that other teams would want him.

They think he will have to have an attytude change, could be water under the bridge here. Maybe with a new coaching staff they can attempt to run it back, might have to rather than selling at distress sale prices

Watson's one year more in the league makes him proven!!!  Dak was an UDFA as well.
