Dak was an UDFA as well.

Might want to check that one again bud. Pretty sure he was not a UDFA. Think he was a third round pick.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

For the franchise QB debate, rather than rank the QBs, here are the tiers of teams (IMO):

Elite Franchise QBs: KC/GB/SEA/HOU

On the doorstep: BUF

Teams that think they are developing an elite franchise QB: CIN, LAC, AZ, JAX (Lawrence is practically already there)...MIA?

Teams that have decent to very good QBs, know their limitations, and are just trying to win now with what they have: TB/TEN/MIN/DAL/LAR/OAK

Competitive teams heavily invested in QB's who won't take them anywhere: CLE, BAL

Teams with assets at QB who are getting ready to cut bait: PHL, NYJ, NYG, SF, PIT...MIA?

Teams in full-blown search mode: DET, WTF, NE, IND, ATL, CAR, NO

Why do you think teams are cutting bait? Because they fit your last category, full blown search. They're not assets, that is a list of bad QBs

You dont trade franchise QBs

Fine, change the word to commitments.

It’s never too early to speculate. People were hyping Lawrence well over a year now. There’s no one coming next year close to that hype. You can always adjust projections and expectations depending how things shake out but as of right now it’s not looking like anything great. Howell and Slovis are presumably at the top and don’t seem like anything special at the moment.

I'm curious to see how D'Eriq King rehabs from his late season ACL tear.  I think he shows potential but nothing top level yet.

I love Sam Howell from UNC.  He's who I want, even wanted him if Carson is to stay.

Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler has shown elite skills but he might be the biggest D-Bag to ever play the position.

Kedon Slovis at USC is a very good prospect as well but I just don't trust USC quarterbacks.

Yeah I don't know about that. I believe that Wentz might not be a franchise QB with us anymore, but could be with Reich. Circumstances matter.

I think it's funny that the have Texas watching 90s Super Bowls but I've been heavily considering watching SB52.  From not caring about the 2 teams one bit to all of the extra SJ nonsense you know we are going to see from the NFL and commercials, I just have zero desire to watch the game.  I want the food however.

Desmond Ridder is a QB yo watch next year ,I think he continues to play well and play himself into rd 1

It's a what have you done for me lately league, Wentz has done nothing.

Howell is the only upcoming QB that I'd be willing to draft. The others have tons of issues.

Hoping for someone to take a Burrow/Wilson type jump.

It's bound to happen.

Ole Miss's Matt Corral is fun to watch, I could see him taking a big step under year 2 of Lane Kiffin.

His arm strength is borderline elite

Is he nifty in the pocket because he is not of the stature to shrug off tacklers ? Honest question, it’s necessary to be in the conversation I believe

Our Super Bowl win was pure luck.  A total fluke of a season.

We had the best roster in the NFL that year and won despite losing key starters. That's not luck.

Doug did a heck of a job superbowl year

Lots of injuries

No 1000 yard receiver

No 1000 yard rb

No dbl digit sack guy

All coaching

Honestly, I don't worry about that. Look how the Chiefs got theirs. It doesn't always have to be top 10, though I think we'll be in the top 10 a few more times over the next 5 years. But even otherwise, you can always trade up if you're willing to pay the cost.

Just in case, Mahomes 10th pick 2017. Dak 3rd round but he’s not beating Mahomes but I think Brady can because of the rest of the team they built by stinking for so long. Rodgers could too if maybe he were on the 49ers another perpetual tanker

Quite a few key players carried him that year. Doug did an "ok" job.

Not Eagles, but this Britt Reid thing is a huge mess.  Andy has had his hands full with his kids for sooooo long.

Some of you guys, worrying that the Eagles will be in draft purgatory if they roll with Hurts for 2-3 years.  Do people actually think Hurts is good enough to win 7-8 games with this roster around him?  He’s a 4-13 or 5-12 QB in my estimation.

I've decided the Eagles should trade Wentz for a later 1st rd pick b/c it's so easy to draft a solid starting QB:

I mean anyone you take in the top twenty is a lock, right?

2020:  Burrow (1), Tua (5), Herbert (6)

2019:   Murray (1), Jones (6), Haskins (15)

2018:   Mayfield (1), Darnold (3), Allen (7), Rosen (10)

2017:   Trubisky (2), Mahomes (10), Watson (12)

2016:   Goff (1), Wentz (2)

2015:   Winston (1), Mariota (2)

2014:   Bortles (3)

2013:   Manuel (16)

2012:   Luck (1), RGIII (2), Tannehill (8)

2011:   Newton (1), Locker (8), Gabbert (10), Ponder (12)

The luck was that Howie put that together... or since he's just a consensus builder and victim of his circumstances now, I guess it was Joe Douglas and Doug that did it.

Everything Howie has done since then has been 180 degrees separated from what he did to create 2017.   Career years from a lot of guys also did magically align.

We are i a really scary time as Americans.  It seems that the term racist and now white supremacy is being thrown around at anyone who doesn't agree with you.  They are now attaching Christianity to white supremacy.  Our freaking military is on a 60-day stand down to confront white supremacy.  It's getting absurd and out of hand.  Sorry this should be in CVON but Dungy and anyone else saying the Eagles are racist are just adding fuel to the fire.  The Eagles have added 6 black coaches under the new staff.  Not good enough and never will be.

You guys always trying to sneak a shot in 🙄. Yeah belongs in CVON, a bunch of other boomahs over there squeaking

Yeah, wonder why you follow a different strategy rebuilding a team than after you've won a SB and are trying to keep the window open for a couple seasons?

Howie has rebuilt this team twice, after Reid and after Chip. And yes, Douglas deserves some credit for the second effort, b/c Howie hires and listens to his "football guys" as well as his coaching staff. Howie is an average to above average drafter overall, an above average trader, understands the cap and the value of FAs and knows how to scour the trash heaps for players. 2018-2019 was the only time he was undisciplined in terms of cap management, and that was driven by an organization agreement to "go for it." Now that there's organizational agreement on rebuilding, look for "bad cop" Howie to return to the contract table.

I'm confident b/c Sirianni and his staff seemed to be first rate teachers, and that's something we've lacked for a while, outside of Stoutland. There are always unheralded athletes in camp, the key to roster development is to develop a few into real players each year. The last few years, Scott, Ward, Mialata, Sweat, Edwards, Mills and who else (Singleton was a CFA veteran)?  We probably have as many guys we've waived starting elsewhere as players we developed.

As long as they keep their eye on the ball, they can rebuild this team in two years and hit the FA market in 2023.

The defense under the new coordinator is still a 4-3?  If so, folks need to keep the entire "picking a LB" in the 1st round strategy back in 1988 or go sell it to teams with a 3-4 defense.

Well, I'd take a guy like Keuchley in the 1st rd, a complete LB with great instincts who is a plus cover guy who never comes off the field.

But not a guy whose primary skill is pass rushing or run defense. Those are specialists in today's NFL.
