I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Some teams have better coaching and talent.  Rodgers, Smith, and McNabb were all also players with 10+ years of experience.  They weren't players going into year 5 on the 2nd season of a new deal.  I'm not saying Hurts motivated or distracted Wentz.  I just don't know but I'm sure it impacted his trust in the organization and his coaches.

Did that lack of trust cause his poor performance ? What if, just what if all these reports about Wentz being hard headed and a Diva had been going on for a while would you blame Lowie ? I do however blame them for that contract  if that was the case

We have his college offensive coordinator/ QB coach on the staff.

I wouldn’t draft Trask b/c he’s too stationary for my tastes, but he’s at least as good a prospect as Mac Jones.  Sadly, when all is said and done he may prove to be a better prospect than Hurts as well.

That's an undertone that Carson is a problem behind closed doors?  Or that they dont think he's durable enough or salvagable enough compared to what he might being in a trade, versus his cap cost moving forward.

Or howie would leak things after the fact to put a spin on it to make themselves look better and in a better light. They’d never do that..... meanwhile doug apparently takes the sword for reagor not howie. Howie clearly wanted jefferson but allowed doug to sway him when he couldn’t even control his own coaching staff and game day rosters. But then howie trusted him and doug bullied him into reagor

Not a chance.

This is what's called 'confirmation bias'.

Maybe Carson did request a trade. Though I don’t know if Slay would be in the know.

Tell me, what GM would do anything different? You hire an HC who was an OC, QB coach and WR coach, under a HC who was an OC and QB coach and NFL QB. You're not going to trust the judgment of your new HC concerning which QB you should  keep? Especially when he hires an OC with experience with QBs and a highly regarded college QB coach?

Maybe Dan Synder or Jerry Jones, but Lowie have always deferred to their football people, I'd say their performance reflects which football people they rely on, but that's no different than hiring a GM, you only find out in hindsight whether that was the right choice - so it's the same issue but easier to fix.

Unless that 'football person' is the HC who says he wants to keep his WR coach and OC... but then Lowie step in and say "No... you don't have final say over your coaching staff."

So now we got the racial angle on the Wentz trade.  Great...

It's 2021.  NO story can be told without the racial angle.  It's mind numbing.

Ballard, Veach, Riddick, Jeremiah

Who is Ballard? Chris Ballard was never with the Eagles.

Veach was a scout who went to join Andy Reid, he was too low on the totem pole to threaten Howie.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles-lose-top-scout-brett-veach-chiefs

Riddick didn't get any offers after he left the Eagles and has been a media guy.

Jeremiah was a college scout who then went to ESPN, again, where are the offers?

Grigson and Banner might have a beef, but not these guys. Grigson lasted 4 years as the Indy GM, one year in Cleveland

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Grigson

Good example of grass is greener syndrome -  Grigson's 4 drafts with Indy'

2012:  Luck (1), Fleener TE (34), Allen TE (64), Hilton (92)

2013:  Werner DE (24), Thorton G (86)

2014:  Mewhort T (59), Moncrief WR (90) - traded the 1st for Trent Richardson RB

2015:  Dorsett WR (29), Smith CB (65), Anderson DE (93), Geathers S (109), Parry NT (151), Good T (255)

Are the two theories mutually exclusive?  Can't both be true?  Especially since there are whispers that Carson may have indeed requested a trade (behind closed doors).

Why do people assume everyone has a racist agenda?  Favre and Vermeil offered their opinions in the context of Watson trying to influence the Texans GM hiring — and they’re both right!  Cesario was the Texans’ presumptive GM hire a full year ago, until the Pats cried foul.  HOU essentially left the position open until Cesario could fill it this year.

Let's break this down.

QB 1 - leaked reports that he asked for a trade.

QB 2 - leaked reports he's not happy with the direction of the team, leaked reports that he had specific people he wanted interviewed for GM job, leaked reports he had specific people he wanted interviewed for the HC job, leaked reports that he will refuse to play this season if he's not granted a trade.

Are these really the same situation?

Well Darius, there still isn't a confirmed report that Carson wants out.  I think we all know he does now but D4 as you call him publicly requested a trade and then threatened to sit out the entire season if he isn't traded.  There's a big difference in how it was handled.  D4 has been vocal, Carson hasn't said a word.  Take off your race baiting glasses and go F yourself.

No they are not mutually exclusive.   However, the tweet doesn't hint that its one way or the other, does it?   So, if we are going by the tweet as evidence, there is no more evidence of the one side than the other.  That's why it's called "confirmation bias".  A report comes out and you automatically see it as confirming your point of view, even if there's no evidence that connects the two.

There are so many logical fallacies being thrown around in here its hard to keep track of them all.   But generally speaking, the biggest one floating around is confirmation bias.   I believe "X", so any evidence that comes out that doesn't directly contradict it is actually supporting it.

Good thing I bought a Foles jersey and not a Wentz one

My daughter bought Carson's jersey as a gift to me a few years ago.  I think I'll be safe with it if I can figure out how to change the name to Van Brocklin......

Welcome to the new world.  it’s actually worse than that but this is an eagles blog so not the place.

So in your opinion, does confirmation bias go both ways in this scenario?

It will be a great day in Eagles history if we bring back our Super Bowl hero BDN in exchange for the DIVA.  Who ever could have thought carson would be such a mental midget?
