I would trade Hurts and a 2nd for Dak

Yeah there is no doubt at this point and time that Dak is a better more polished player.  You are talking about a 5 year vet and someone who just played a handful of games as a rookie.

But Hurts style of play is far more similiar to Dak than it is Tyrod.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Bears are actively trying to trade Foles... he must be a problem behind closed doors.   @Ace Nova

Or could it be that they know that there's no way that Wentz would be happy with having Foles as his backup?

If I was a betting man I would bet on my scenario over yours.

Maybe but his talent isn’t

Brooks is on the north side of 30, Seumalo is probably the center, Lane is becoming a ?. It wouldn't be sexy, but I'd be fine with them using both firsts to lock that line down. Don't draft projects. Fix it. Will their scouts nail both picks? That's another issue...

Brooks is on the north side of 30? He was the best OG in the NFL before he was hurt. Top OL play to 35 or longer, Whitworth and Peters were starting at LT at 38.

Dillard was a legitimate 1st rd pick in his 3rd season. So you'll go draft a 1st round rookie to replace him?

Now if an elite OL is available and is BPA that's a different story. But guys like Driscoll and Herbig showed they can play, Driscoll belongs inside b/c of his shorter arms, but showed great technique as a rookie, the dropoff to Pryor was obvious. Herbig needs to get in better shape and lacks the feet to get to the second level, but is a good in-line pass blocker.

And Stoutland is probably the best OL coach in the NFL.

Who are you more likely to win a Super Bowl with? It’s Dak and not close. I know it’s probably not worth it since we’re about to have like $50 mil in dead cap

Disagree 100%.  I'd rather have Hurts + $34M/yr in other players versus Dak.

Dak, like Carson, is just not good enough to get paid that much without hamstringing your team elsewhere.

We will see.  2nd round pick vs a 4th round pick. Hurts has some undeniable talent.

If he is back on this team I will not watch a single game. Go somewhere else or retire

Meh. The only way Peters returns is as the 9th OL and an intern coach under Stoutland at close to the veteran minimum. His starter days are over.

Peters will not be back. I am 110% sure of that.

Brooks has been having problems staying healthy

I would hate to be a Packers season ticket holder these days.

Rodgers has been untouchable going on a decade and shows no sign of ever doing anything other than "what he does every year" .

What do they care? So long as there's cheese on the table.

What?  Are you suggesting the Packers should get rid of Rodgers?

He will never sign for the vet minimum, I think he's shown already he's a money grubber. Demanding more money to play tackle only to get suck and get hurt immediately. Has definitely tarnished his reputation for me personally.

This entire idea that "Starting Quarterbacks" by virtue of their agent don't have to compete for a starting job in the NFL anymore does not fly with the Eagles.

And I love it.

Right.  There's little doubt, imo, that Wentz (through his agent) likely gave the Eagles some sort of ultimatum that if he wasn't going to be the named starter for the Eagles then he would request to be traded.  You don't need to be a rocket scientist to read the writing on the wall.

Nick Foles coming back really, really bothers me.

We all said we’d trade decades of suffering for a SB.  The franchise is headed in the wrong direction in a bad way.  Fine, whatever.

Don’t bring Foles back and tarnish his legend and our memory.  Backup, starter, or otherwise...I don’t want Foles on the roster for the 3-13 seasons that we have coming to us.  Let’s remember him for his 2017 (and 2018) runs.

As much as I want BDN back and I really do it is just not best for this team. It will ruin our memory of him.

The eagles like money and foles coming back equates to good money coming back in their pockets

Talk about confused. Do you people want to Win or have the greatest Nostalgia bar in all of Kensington ?

Problem is I love Nick and felt he should have been our starter after 2018 playoff run. I thought at the time we could have traded Carson for quite a hall and have a decent QB with tons of weapons around him at a reasonable price could have kept us in the hunt for a few more years.

So I am torn with him coming back as that memory is still there wanting him but now with the shape of this team we are not ready to make that hard push anymore. Nick coming back won't fix all the problems this team has.

Right now its best we trade away players that have real value. We can go into this draft with 10-12 picks if done right. Even trading back number 6. Collecting tons of picks and just hitting that reset button.

I am happy with that, purge the team of a lot of vets get younger and learn, grow together.

Absolutely nothing about bringing Foles back would tarnish his legacy.  There's not a lot of folks that believe this team will win more than 4 or 5 games next season so if he does that (if he's even the starter) then it would be expected.  If he does better than that, most fans would likely be pleased.  If the Foles/Eagles magic returns and he gets them into the playoffs, then what?

And let's say Hurts wins the job out of camp.  He would only benefit Hurts' development because that's what he does.  Trubisky couldn't speak highly enough of Foles and considered him the equivalent of a QB coach in Chicago.  Having Foles in that QB room would be a huge benefit to the team.

I saw that you said, "see how it works" and I replied with a similar, unsubstantiated theory.  So I was agreeing with you when it comes to "unsubstantiated" theories.  But don't you see the difference between our two theories and fans referring to reports from very credible sources (Schaffer, etc)?

When fans post and refer to credible sources, isn't that a way to (at least) add support to a theory?  In a court of law, isn't that how it usually works?  You get expert witnesses and testimony to back up your case, no?

I’m all for doing that edit logically sounds it makes sense. However I do not trust the people who are making those picks to actually hit on many of those picks. The Eagles have had 36 draft picks since 2016. They currently have 19 (assuming wentz is dealt) of them on the roster and that includes the Nate Gerry, Jalen mills, Matt pryor might also be gone in about a month. I’d add good chance JJAW is gone as he’s a bust and Barnett is iffy at his price tag. They could have potentially 14 players they drafted since 2016 on their current roster by the time the draft hits. They’d have only 6-7 starters from all those picks that would include dillard or mailata starting and swear or Barnett starting
