That was my other point of why i felt that way. As soon as Adam caplan said they had more than just a little interest but a lot of interest and serious interest in Jordan love you had to know it wasn’t about a back up quarterback situation. There was no way they were going to get Jordan Love at 53. So they either had to select him at 20 and make that commitment (which really wouldve have seen the crap hit the fan) or they would had a trade way up into the top half of the second round or how it turned out into the first round again just to get him. Am I feeling on Jordan love was he was never falling out of the first round due to the fifth year option at play as a first rounder.

The browns agree. Just took them about two decades.

I said it couple years ago we sold our soul for a Ring. 10 years of pain.

3 finished. 7 more to go. At least they are using lube.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Legitimately there’s no excuse for it. There’s so many alternatives to driving drunk that he could have taken. This is just somebody who thinks he’s above the law or doesn’t care. The Chiefs would’ve paid for A driver to come pick them up. He could’ve gotten a lift. He could’ve got an Uber. There’s so many things he could have done to avoid this.  I feel horrible for that family whose five-year-old even if she survives this is not going to have a normal life for the rest of her life because that idiot couldn’t use a simple app or call the organization who has employees drivers to pick up athletes when they’re drunk.

I think you are oversimplifying and ignoring the insidious role of addiction. Alcoholic brains don't think about consequences and risks. It doesn't even occur to them they are being selfish. In addition, there is a reason driver insurance costs more under 25 drivers. Their brains are still not fully developed, and the portion that moderates risk aversion is last to mature. Just a bad recipe for disaster

There's no doubt the family is going to end up suing him

I think the league has a partnership with Uber for players. Not sure about coaches but he makes plenty that an Uber ride home wouldn't be a problem. Also being on the Chiefs going to the SB he could probably get a free ride. No excuse. Throw his ass in jail

Yup- what went wrong in 2019 for them to believe he was worse than in 2018.  Was it the concussion? Was it the bad play to start the season when he had practice squad players at receiver at the end of the season?  Moreover, they are drafting Hurts without getting the benefit of the rookie contract in his first 2 seasons.

I’ve felt this way for a while I think the Eagles viewed the end of 2019 as fools gold. If you listen back to when Jeffrey lurie called the end of 2011 fools gold I could imagine him saying the same thing about 2019. Their schedule set up really well at the end of the year to get hot but that doesn’t mean they were a good team or they were trending in the right direction. It just may be they played so many bad teams and then on top of it Prescott had a bruise shoulder for the one game where I’d believe they thought was a challenge. I don’t think the Eagles at the end of 2019 knew which Carson Wentz they were going to get. Were they going to get early-season 2019 Carson Wentz which was somewhat similar at times to 2018 Carson Wentz. Or were they going to get a late season 2019 Carson Wentz that looked a lot closer to the 2017 version of Carson Wentz. They didn’t know. But they wanted to have a safety net in place in case the worst fears of Carson wasn’t the guy happened. So they would have a quarterback in place and not be scrambling to find a young quarterback that they like

It’s one of the reasons why I said before they started making moves in the 2020 off-season was that this team is not very good it was fools gold at the end of the year. They were the benefactors of having a cakewalk schedule even though they were playing with practice squad players. I don’t take that away from Carson with he did a tremendous job with the team they had. however I believe the eagles FO thought if they didn’t have that schedule the Eagles don’t make that run to the playoffs and he wasn’t as good as that stretch turned out. Not that I believe that that’s how I think they interpreted it

All that is well and good, but Britt Reid is now 35 years old, not 25.  And since he is obviously a danger to society based upon his past and now this incident, he'll soon be behind bars.  He should have been able to learn from his own and his older brother's sordid past, but unfortunately did not.  So now he'll go to jail where he belongs.

I also feel terrible for Andy and Tammy.  To see their oldest two sons just destroy their own lives must be heartbreaking.

Ok, I get it.  But if there were multiple, substantiated reports from credible sources stating that it was likely (at least) one of the reasons, would it add credibility to your "theory"?

The actual evident of Foles being traded by Chip Kelly, cut by Jeff Fisher, traded by the Jags, and now possibly to get traded by the Bears a year later speaks more than reports.

As for the Wentz 'reports'... how many 'substantiated' reports have there been?   I've seen a lot of speculation, and a lot of people acting like they know things.  That said... I hope this all ends soon. I'm tired of it all.

Checked other teams reddits and no one wants Wentz lol. I think in part because it would end their hopes for Watson, but still. Bears fans really don't want him.

You better hope it’s only seven more years. I was told that if Lurie doesn’t see his shadow next season that it last for another 15 years

fu#$ing DUI. Scum

It seems like there’s no question he was at fault. It’s unclear to me whether he’s getting charged with anything but the news stories mention that there is a warrant where he said he had been drinking.  My guess is the warrant was to draw a blood sample.

If I were a fan on another team I'd be OK with my team taking a flyer on him.  First round pick + on him would really rub me the wrong way though.  Grated most other team fans aren't going to remember the Wentz highlights the way our fanbase will.  I get the disconnect.

Vs. the evidence to the absolute contrary that he was among the best team leaders during the Eagles 2017 season which ended with a Super Bowl title?  With a statue dedicated to what he helped accomplish for the team.  How many teams make statues about players that have internal issues?  From a jury's standpoint, that's easily enough evidence to throw your theory away, especially after I have the entire 2017 team testify in defense of Foles.

Yet, I can call expert witnesses stating the contrary in Wentz' case.  And if it came down to it, you could call a few stating otherwise.  But you certainly wouldn't be able to call the entire team and have a statue to boot as "evidence". :P

Looks like Britt is still in the hospital, I guess the warrant makes sense if he was unconscious or unwilling.

Bears fans are screwed no matter who the Qb is with that coach. Hes just like Doug, horrible game planner, bad practice habits, poor play calling.

I'm not sure sure I would feel good about howie trying to lead the eagles back , he put them in this mess.

Completely gut the team and let Hurts get abused for a year or two while we rebuild and draft the next QB of the future.

That's my thinking on where we're headed.

I wouldn't compare what Howie did in 2010 and 2016 to what he could potentially do this year.  In 2016 he was "taking over" from a "previous regime".  This is still mostly "his team/players" so I doubt he will go full throttle on the "cuts"...especially if they come to the conclusion in a month or two that they could potentially compete in 2021.

That said, the players that most suspect will be cut/traded/restructured will likely be.  With maybe a surprise or two thrown in, imo.

Disagree 100%.  I'd rather have Hurts + $34M/yr in other players versus Dak.

Dak, like Carson, is just not good enough to get paid that much without hamstringing your team elsewhere.

Yeah but he’s at least in the conversation to get a huge contract. Dak will be getting 1-2 year deals after his rookie contract is up

I'd be fine if Cox and Graham were traded if the compensation was good. I'd be totally fine if they blew up the team. Again, excluding the OL, because you can't evaluate Hurts if the OL sucks. And OL can play well into their 30's anyway. So I'd keep Lane and Brooks.

You mean Hurts?  Sounds like the lament of a butthurt Carstan, but only time will tell.

Have to keep them anyway. They just signed big contracts that keep them from getting traded

If the reason the eagles drafted hurts was because they soured on Carson, why not try to get rid of him last year before he sucked ass

Bigger question are which players are tradable with their contracts and have value.

lane— contract prevents it. I imagine the 29 mil dead money and still 11 mil against the cap prevents that.

brooks— value coming off injury

seumalo— solid contract and has positional versatility and can be a above average starter

mailata— i highly doubt they trade him

dillard— not sure what his value is

Barnett— i could see some team wanting to trade for him. I think he’s a solid starter just not great.

ertz— would like to trade but have a sense teams might just wait it out for the eagles to release him

cox—don’t see it but ive been surprised before

hargrave— doubtful

slay— would like to trade. In his prime and likely out if it when rebuild

Mcleod—coming off acl so don’t see it.

kelce— i think retires

Sanders— i guess if you aren’t going to sign him to an extension

goedert— i imagine the posts about drafting pitts if that goes down
