If the reason the eagles drafted hurts was because they soured on Carson, why not try to get rid of him last year before he sucked ass

It does explain a lot but perhaps they soured on him but also wanted to motivate him. He’s still an incredible talent.

It’s really beginning to look like his asking for a trade has been a convenient cover for the FO to do what they probably were going to anyway.

What it doesn’t explain is why Doug still got fired if they all understood that something was wrong with Wentz: the central issue why the team lost so many games was the QB position IMO.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I’m guessing he likely is some how back next year.

Typically I don’t agree with fans who say "if such and such keeps playing, fighting, etc.., they are gonna tarnish their legend status,” but in Peters case I do.   Dude was an undrafted TE, and ends up with 6 All Pros, 2 of them first team and a 9 times Pro Bowl, at LT.   Not being a homer but he should of been at least a 4 time 1st Team All Pro.
He’s gotta be loaded with money at this point but it’s time to retire, and if he can’t, if he loves playing too much, then he needs to go somewhere else, not in the division and expect a huge cut in pay.
He’s the dude that was gonna fight the Redskins sideline when BDN got clipped with a cheap shot.

The only thing I can't think is Wentz pulling himself out of thevplayoff game due to a concussion. Never played football Roseman probably looked down on it and the string of Wentz injuries that he decided to draft a backup plan QB so high.

Is it bad to think that the only player I wouldn't trade was playing rugby 3 years ago?

It’s because he’s an a-hole or an alcoholic. I have a brother he’s exactly the same way towards things where he doesn’t think it’s going to affect anybody else he doesn’t care if it affects anybody else. But then he gets caught in the situation where it affects a ton of people. $10 Uber could have saved a five-year-old girls life or a life where she doesn’t have to struggle through it. 10 Fing dollars

Not trying to play devil's advocate here but do we know what his blood alcohol level was yet?  If he really had 2-3 drinks, a man of his size could likely still be under the "legal limit", especially if he had them over the course of a few hours.

That said, most people in his position (previous issues with the law, public figure, etc) should take the safer route of calling for ride even after "only a few drinks", imo. I can't imagine the nightmare of potentially hurting an innocent person in an accident.  And it would be even worse if it was truly an "accident" but everyone assumed it was because of drinking, etc.

Bigger question are which players are tradable with their contracts and have value.

lane— contract prevents it. I imagine the 29 mil dead money and still 11 mil against the cap prevents that.

brooks— value coming off injury

seumalo— solid contract and has positional versatility and can be a above average starter

mailata— i highly doubt they trade him

dillard— not sure what his value is

Barnett— i could see some team wanting to trade for him. I think he’s a solid starter just not great.

ertz— would like to trade but have a sense teams might just wait it out for the eagles to release him

cox—don’t see it but ive been surprised before

hargrave— doubtful

slay— would like to trade. In his prime and likely out if it when rebuild

Mcleod—coming off acl so don’t see it.

kelce— i think retires

I think Dallas Goedert is their best asset to trade.  Low contract, young with tons of upside still.  He's just going to be paid big bucks soon.

He's by far the best player we have under 25 years old, not bad at all. I personally wouldn't trade any of the OL

Yeah i forgot to add him.

Reading the article says it smelled moderately like alcohol on him and his eyes were bloodshot. Could just be that but it really doesn’t sounds like it. Add on Hes had prior DUIs it’s not a good look to even have any drinks and risk driving with that track record.

Come on now.  Would you trade Goedert, Kelce, Sanders, Cox, Sweat, Singleton, etc?

Just because the team is "restructuring" doesn't mean we need to roll out a College team 1A next season.   Any sort of "restructure" needs (without question) a certain amount of veteran leadership, especially a team that wants to rebuild "quickly", imo.

I'd give it a 90% chance he had way more than 2-3 drinks.  2-3 drinks is what everyone says when they drank too much.

What a dumb arse.

There won't be a lot of trades, but there will be a lot of guys cut, DeSean, Jeffrey, Malik are out the door, probably Curry, Gerry, some of the small CBs.

Graham might be traded, max value.

It's going to be a two year process, by winter 2023 there will probably be only 15-20 players left from the 60+ that finished 2020.

Sounds like Howie did a great job of obtaining good young talent over the years.

So they let it go even though it was mandated? Should have suspended him awhile ago. Maybe he'll be included in whatever punishments Saints get from the league

I'd be fine if Cox and Graham were traded if the compensation was good. I'd be totally fine if they blew up the team. Again, excluding the OL, because you can't evaluate Hurts if the OL sucks. And OL can play well into their 30's anyway. So I'd keep Lane and Brooks.

Hate to see Fletcher go but with a new DC, hopefully the D line won’t have all the responsibility in getting to the QB, and stopping the run.

Oh, I don't necessarily disagree but let's not convict him yet before knowing all of the facts.  It sounds really bad now and if it is, he will get his day in court and suffer the consequences. I am praying for the child to recover because as of now, the only "fact' we know is that she's in critical condition with a head injury. 😞

Kind of hard not to with his previous track record with DUI's and bad decisions.

Vs. the evidence to the absolute contrary that he was among the best team leaders during the Eagles 2017 season which ended with a Super Bowl title?  With a statue dedicated to what he helped accomplish for the team.  How many teams make statues about players that have internal issues?  From a jury's standpoint, that's easily enough evidence to throw your theory away, especially after I have the entire 2017 team testify in defense of Foles.

Yet, I can call expert witnesses stating the contrary in Wentz' case.  And if it came down to it, you could call a few stating otherwise.  But you certainly wouldn't be able to call the entire team and have a statue to boot as "evidence". :P

Still missing the point.   The stuff that was put out recently about Wentz being on the block doesn't mean anything about him being a good or bad teammate one way or the other.   You can go ahead and tie yourself in a knot trying to disprove the logical fallacy of confirmation bias.  Some people think Wentz is a bad guy, based on a few of nameless reports, meanwhile, the people who do put their name on it happen to be the leaders of the team... Cox and Kelce, chiefly amongst them.    So, there's really no 'evidence' that Wentz is a bad guy.  Meanwhile, a report is out that a trade might be close, and that is somehow evidence?   Nope.  It's not.

It's ridiculous how stories get twisted and turned to fit narratives.

And can we forget the statue as evidence of anything.  That was advertising, not fan inspired, and certainly not commissioned by the players on the roster.  🤦‍♂️

Gocong, 6’2” 260lb linebacker, ran a low 4.7 and hit the bench 27-28 times, definitely an all timer at the combine.

She was the first one who had the Eagles getting Goodwin, but still take it FWIW.

Got any facts to support this nonsense. NFL has people in booth to spot concussions, and he was taken into the tent and the doctors said no go.
