Somewhat off topic, but of all the offseason hires, Brian Johnson is probably my favorite.  Just a very interesting resume and also a close working relationship with 2-3 of the best offensive players in the draft.  

If the Eagles are planning on drafting a QB, give me Wilson. No Fields. HELL NO to Trask or Lance. 

I still have high concerns with Wilson, but I've been more impressed with him than the others.

And that QB better not take a snap this year unless it’s absolutely necessary.  Would be a shame if the Eagles wrecked another first round quarterback.

Wholeheartedly agree. If Foles really is coming back, have him get killed this year while Wilson (or wherever we go) backs up and learns.

Lance will go well ahead of Trask, but yea he’s a project which means maybe.   Fields is getting some Haskins hate and shouldn’t, he’s a much better passer, and doesn’t have lead feet, but a lot of folks question why he left GA.

An aging back up quarterback, a slightly better Boston Scott, and the 20th pick.  And according to the tweet I saw that in earlier, we would also be giving the bears our second round pick this year.  Yeah that would be horrible compensation

I see two possible scenarios:

A) They are willing to make the trade because they need Nick off the books, so that's why he's included.

B) They want Foles to be the guy for a year or so while they groom the next kid.

I would be elated to get a first round pick in return for Wentz.

As far as the entire Wentz situation goes, the most likely scenario is that the "truth" is somewhere in the middle. (It usually is).

- Were there players that preferred another QB?  Probably.

- Were there players that preferred Wentz? Probably.

- Were there issues with scheme/playcalling between Pederson and Wentz?  Probably, although maybe not as "big" of an issue as some think.

- Did Wentz "request a trade" if he wouldn't be named the starter?  Well, this, out of all things, if true...would be the "most likely" reason he would be traded, imo. 

How can you rebuild a team with a QB that doesn't want to be here?  Lurie decided to let Pederson go because Pederson apparently did not want to let some coaches go and wanted to promote from within, etc but Lurie firmly disagreed.  So do you think he would be "ok" with a QB demanding a trade if he's not the named starter?  

Have the Eagles ever been held ransom by a player since Lurie purchased the team?   How can you have your team leader, QB, demanding to be traded if he's not awarded the starting QB position by default?  Would you run your team (as an owner/gm) being held ransom by your QB?

I know when he came out that’s why people loved him was due to positional versatility. He could play guard, tackle and center.
