Why?  He had his MVP (type) season with DeFilippo.  Just because there were rumors that Wentz preferred another QB coach at the time doesn't necessarily mean he feels the same way now.  If Wentz wants to turn his career around, wouldn't listening to the coach that he had his best season with be a good first step?

Getting a 1st for Wentz after the season he just had would be very good. Assuming we're not giving up a pick too...

We will see soon enough what the real compensation is.
 

But, like I said, with what Wentz just put on film last year, we should be ecstatic about getting a 2021 first.

Id personally wait if I was Howie. You have a hair under a month to make a trade. Make the other teams sweat it out. Id play hard ball. If they dont want to pay the price by the last week of Feb then too bad for them. We will keep Wentz. But to give up that cap hit to move up 18 spots from your 2nd rounder would just be flat out dumb.

Oh man, all excitement of what the trade could be has just been completely deflated.  Including the 2nd round pick is just horrible.

If they give up 37 to get 20, you think moving up 17 spots is worth it? Especially in a draft where we just had a college football season like no other with a pandemic and you’re not gonna have a combine and it’s going to be harder to evaluate prospects with the pandemic going on. Doesn’t sound as great giving up 37 for 20

Reminds me of the Foles/Bradford trade when we all thought we were getting a 2nd back from the Rams. Then it turned out we were the team that gave up a 2nd.

This team is just depressing in so many ways.

If that compensation is true I hate it on many levels. 

On the other hand I have zero doubt that Foles can beat out Hurts in a QB comp. That's a silver lining at least...

I just said I didn't know DeFlippo was on the Bears.  It makes a little sense that the Bears might want Wentz then if he's there coaching.

Nagy and Pace are in "win now” mode. Out of FA’s, draft choices at #20 or re-signing Trubisky, Wentz is probably their best chance (assuming the owner doesn’t allow them to mortgage the future for Watson).

Trading for Foles back is just setting Siri up for failure...they can't trade for the SB hero back to have him back-up and not expect the fans to burn the city down when the Eagles are 1-7 around the midway point of the season.

Lets just hope its the Eagles leaking a false offer to get another team to offer more.
