Calling team: can we talk to you about trading formWentz.

Howie: I will listen to anything but we see Carson as our long term starter.  Would take at least a Stafford level offer for me to consider that sort of cap, hit.

Calling team:  but he was the worst QB in the league last year.

Howie:  c’mon.  11 different OL lineups.  Almost all brand new receivers.  You wouldn’t have called it you didn’t believe he can be a long term starter.

Calling team:  That’s a little rich.

Howie: Can i interest you in a top three TE?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yeah, this was the dude claiming we were moving into top 10 last draft (first claim was trade with Chargers) and not being denied for Ceedee Lamb. Pick after pick he doubled down, until Jerry took him, of course.

I believe he’s also the dude who keeps up making trade rumors with the 76ers

Foles was worse than Wentz this past season. He's bad, he also provides no upside, he is on the backend of his career.

There would be no incentive for the Eagles to play Foles over Hurts.

Wrong. Foles can be the franchise QB here for a very long time. He’s proven a great starter and the best backup in Eagles QB history

Hard sell he’s top 3 still

Seriously, until someone explains how a Wentz trade can be fit under the salary cap, I am not believing all this rank speculation.

If there is to be a QB battle, which there should be, Foles will win. Hurts is not the future and neither is Nick but he wouldn't be a bad stop-gap QB until Sirianni finds his guy.

To be clear I HATE this trade, just trying to find a silver lining.

Congrats to Megatron. I knew it'd happen

Hmmm, someone in this very thread made the argument he wasn’t really that good

See: bad OL, rookie WRs etc. Anything can be pushed in negotiations.

Yeah, these deals sound like preliminary offers that have been leaked, maybe by 3rd parties, maybe by teams trying to show they're doing something, knowing the lowball has no chance of being accepted.

We don't even know if Wentz is being seriously shopped, or Howie is just taking phone calls while the real action are deals under the radar.

Remember, I heard it through the Grapevine:

"People say believe half of what you see, Son, and none of what you hear."

I really don’t think Sirianni and two weeks of tape grinding are the impetus to a deal.

There’s no chance in hell Lowie’s new puppet is making the decision on Wentz. Just more absurd apologetics from afan in an attempt to set another fall guy in case Wentz turns it around elsewhere.

Don't like the Colts deal either. LB Okereke has been injured in both years hes been in the NFL Plus giving up a 2nd this year to get it back 2 years later? Eh.

Probably could also add the pandemic as a lesser reason

And the bidding continues.

Yep. And Bryce Harper signing, Joe Girardi, amongst others. Absolute joke.

Eskin is the guy who admitted to making up stories, no?

They wouldn't be bringing Foles to start. When the Eagles hired the QB coach from Florida who had worked with Hurts, that signals they are moving forward with Hurts as the guy.

A. He never worked with Hurts.

B. Disagree completely they hired a Reich Jr for no reason but a position coach for a specific QB

Right, you hire an OC who was a QB coach, who hired an OC who was a QB coach, and a highly regard college QB coach - but Howie is going to ignore them, trade Wentz and shove a new QB down their throats. If Howie wanted to do that, all he had to do was hire a DC as HC, who wouldn't have the clout to challenge this decision.

Probably believe the Jewish space lasers started the California wildfires.

Well you can def count that trade out. Eskin is ALWAYS wrong.

You can’t be serious.  The dude they just hired has the clout to challenge your boy Howie in his first week on the job?  Really???

I'm not sure sure I would feel good about howie trying to lead the eagles back , he put them in this mess.

You know it’s bad when the blog’s troll feels bad for us. You’re right I have no faith in Howie.

Ok it feels like everyone is piggybacking off that fake rumor now.

I also love the people that are like Doug pederson is behind the drafting of Jalen hurts. So the Eagles wouldn’t let him pick his own coaching staff, told him they had to fire coaches and would not allow him to pick game day rosters. But yet they had enough confidence in him and trust in him with a second round pick of a quarterback?
