I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Calling team: can we talk to you about trading formWentz.

Howie: I will listen to anything but we see Carson as our long term starter.  Would take at least a Stafford level offer for me to consider that sort of cap, hit.

Calling team:  but he was the worst QB in the league last year.

Howie:  c’mon.  11 different OL lineups.  Almost all brand new receivers.  You wouldn’t have called it you didn’t believe he can be a long term starter.

Calling team:  That’s a little rich.

Howie: Can i interest you in a top three TE?

I wonder when other teams' GMs call Howie if Howie's voicemail says:  "You have reached Howie Roseman, the Emperor of Personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles.  If you are interested in inquiring about obtaining resources from our QB Factory press 1... If you are interested in how I keep coming back year after year press 2...If you are interested in hearing what goes into my wide receiver draft evaluations press 3...If you don't know which option to choose because you can't make up your mind and if you want me to decide for you, then leave your name and number after the beep and I will consider hiring you as a consultant."

Hmmm, someone in this very thread made the argument he wasn’t really that good

Must be someone on my ignore list because I've never seen it lol

He was a monster

Well you can def count that trade out. Eskin is ALWAYS wrong.

Probably but who knows.  I’m guessing the 1st is for next year.

Seriously, until someone explains how a Wentz trade can be fit under the salary cap, I am not believing all this rank speculation.

The cap hit is the same whether we keep him or not.  It saves about 800k cap wise to trade him.

Right, you hire an OC who was a QB coach, who hired an OC who was a QB coach, and a highly regard college QB coach - but Howie is going to ignore them, trade Wentz and shove a new QB down their throats. If Howie wanted to do that, all he had to do was hire a DC as HC, who wouldn't have the clout to challenge this decision.

Probably believe the Jewish space lasers started the California wildfires.

As a Jew, we actually do you have that you just have to watch history of the world more closely Lol

Subtle jab at the Watt family lol

So this is something...

Wrong. Foles can be the franchise QB here for a very long time. He’s proven a great starter and the best backup in Eagles QB history

TO and McNabb are going to be arguing when they are 80 years old.

It’s going to be anarchy next year anyways when they suck. You think fans the casual fans are just going to be accepting of this team being awful? You, me and people in the blog might have a level head knowing they’re going to rebuild and expecting this.

and when they are one and seven, what do you thinks gonna bring fans to the games? Oh I can see Nick Foles play quarterback the Super Bowl MVP when I didn’t get to see that the two years he came back and played the way he did. That is business marketing. It makes a ton of sense to get people to show up to games if foles is starting. The casual Eagles fan wants to see Super bowl hero nick foles

I'm highlighting the dichotomy of the situation.  You trade for Foles and start him, it's admitting that Hurts is the wasted pick we know he was.  On the flip side, you trade for Foles and have him back up Hurts we are back to square one we spent all this season on.  Foles is a former SB MVP, Philly legend, hero, bigus deekus maximus and it's a min of 8 weeks before massive backlash happens with Hurts starting.

Foles wins the QB job against Hurts 9 times out of 10.

See my response above.  I could go in and beat Hurts out 5 out of 10.

Ok it feels like everyone is piggybacking off that fake rumor now.

I’m not believing anything until it’s done. I’m thinking it’s going to be done soon. My guess is there’s some truth to a lot of it but whether this is an offer or a demand from the Eagles is unknown.

I mean if we get to week eight or week nine and hurts is not playing well, improving and looks like crap then I think the Eagles already know their decision on what they’re going to do at quarterback next. So bringing in Nick Foles at that point wouldn’t make any difference because they’re probably not winning that many games even with Nick Foles because this roster is not that good

I highly doubt they’re going to make Nick Foles the starter. And the Eagles won’t admit it was a bad pick or wasted pick they’ll say he’s just not ready yet. They will spin it

You Carstans really have gone nuts.  I suggest Prozac.

If our OL is middle of the pack of worse, then Foles has no chance. That's part of the reason why he was so bad in Jax and Chi. Their OLs were below average.  Foles is a backup, but even then the OL better be good or he will struggle.  Our OL and Chicago's OL were similar near the end of the season. They both were pretty bad and injured.  Hurts has a better chance behind a mediocre OL.

Maybe they want Foles back because when they bring in Hurts for one play and line Foles up out wide, defenses would have to actually account for him.

You can’t be serious.  The dude they just hired has the clout to challenge your boy Howie in his first week on the job?  Really???

It's not a matter of "challenging" anyone.

Why would Howie choose a HC who's calling card is working with WRs and QBs, then ignore his input when trading the starting QB and adding a new QB?

Makes zero sense. What does make sense is Howie would sit down with Siri, go over the QB options, and then decide what to do. And I wouldn't expect that to happen until Siri got a chance to do an in-depth review of film on both Wentz and Hurts.

His salary of $4M says he would start and play well?

Or maybe they’re trying to improve their red zone Offense. They are going to run philly special with Nick at quarterback, Jalen hurts at running back and Dallas Goedert is going to throw the ball
