That’s why they pay Dave Spindaro the big bucks.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If you see a guy at 6 that you confidently project to be a franchise guy, you pull the trigger. You don’t allow Hurts to stop that.

Depends why you took Hurts last year. If they believed in him then enough to take him when they did, why bury him again?

How many GMs are available who are good at the cap, drafting, free agency, managing a team, etc. are there?

I'm out on Howie and willing to gamble, but there's a lot of people who refuse to see that it could get much worse too.

Worse than the worst drafting team over the last 3 years?   Worse than running the salary cap into the gutter... 2nd worst cap situation in the league, and the only one that bad that missed the playoffs... will be dumping their starting QB... and will be drafting in the top 10.

How much 'worse' could it theoretically get?

Choosing Tate over just paying a higher price for Anderson actually caused a bunch of other events to be put in motion. The tate trade would've made more sense if they did that move 5 years prior not where Tate was at that particular point in time of his career. Every Lions beat reporter stated he was a slot receiver and when you watched the Lions they had Jones and Golladay on the outside. so he was a slot receiver when you had Agholor in the slot cause he just was incapable of playing the outside consistently for the Eagles. Add on we were running 12 personnel the most or close to the most in the entire league.

The eagles would’ve been better off just paying the price of a 2nd round pick (rumored value) to get Robbie Anderson who they would’ve had for 1.5 seasons. Additionally it prevents you from making the DeSean move and redoing his contract. On top of that if you extended him then last year’s draft they could’ve just taken Justin Jefferson. They didn’t have to be looking to add a speed receiver and just find the best WR instead of trying to find the speed threat fit.

Yup.  Make one bad move and it starts the dominoes falling in the wrong direction.

When you look at moves like that (Tate and also Douglas, a CB better for zone than man) it makes you wonder if Howie considered any input from the coaches at all.  He brings in square pegs for round holes which then starts a series of other moves that have to cover for the mistake or leaves more holes due to the mistake.  The buck stops with Howie so any dysfunction within the organization flows to the source, which is him.  And his enabler, Lurie.

The misunderstanding come with "you can" vs "you could", he used "you can".

"You can" tends to mean that someone is able to do something that they probably thought they wouldn't be able to.

"You could" means that although it is technically possible to do something, you aren't likely to.

You know what's worse than having to explain a joke?

Having to explain why you did not get a joke.

Ryan Pace. Dave Gettleman. Steve Keim. Mike Mayock.

I could go on.

Most teams don't try to draft their future franchise QB at #53.  If they believed in Hurts that much then they lied about wanting a competent backup or they're fools for waiting that long to draft 'their guy', especially when there's multiple reports that they were very interested in Jordan Love.  So either way dysfunction and narcissism because you didn't have the balls to draft your guy in the 1st Round because of how it would look (and couldn't lie that drafting a 1st Round QB is just a backup) after signing Wentz to a big contract or because you preferred your 2nd choice, who in all probability isn't as good, to save face.  This current FO is pure rubbish and that includes Lurie who allows all this shite to happen.  Point is we have no idea what they think because their choices have been so stupefying and erratic it's like asking someone on meth to explain String Theory.

Considering they had Dobbins and Chinn over him on their draft board, I doubt their belief was future franchise QB.

Some good news.

And yet they took him over both of them and were also dabbling in Jordan Love. So we also must factor the scouts might not have thought of him that way but that doesn’t mean Lurie and Howie agree with their scouts.

They told everyone why they took Hurts where they did. They regret not drafting Russel Wilson. We know they had players with higher grades but decided to take him in the 2nd because they didn't want to risk having that happen again. In my uninformed opinion I don't think that is a good approach to the draft.

Been my theory all along. I call it the Eagles spin. The tweet yesterday posted on here from a report that said they soured on Wentz after 2019 makes me believe it even more.

I mean it has to be the same guy.  No one else is that special brand of incoherent.

Well good thing Wentz has no say on where he goes since he does not have a no trade clause :) So bid away boys. Only thing that can screw it up is him speaking out on Social Media. Good for us hes being silent. All those people who wanted him to talk, silly rabbits.

According to afan, they took him because of Doug.  And now Doug is gone.   So, Howie can purge all the mistakes of the past... and take full credit for anything that wasn't a mistake.

Him saying he wants to return to Philly wouldn’t negatively affect his trade value for the Eagles.

I'm pretty sure all those teams are in a better position right now than the Eagles.

Well... the buck should stop with Howie.

Let me get this straight, the Eagles didn’t let Doug pick his own staff, forced him to fire two coaches he wanted to keep and no control over game day roster decisions. However allowed him to be a major influence on Howie selecting Reagor over Jefferson and drafting Hurts cause he loved him? Ya that checks out
