I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It's the 2 teams vying for him,  and the team trading him.  That's the 3 teams.

No from the article

According to the source, the belief around the league is that the trade market will come down to the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. While a third undisclosed team is said to be in the mix, the source noted that the Bears and Colts are in the driver’s seat and a deal is "close.

I liked BG more before the draft than JPP.  Still do.  JPP was never really much of a run support guy and never could do what BG did, which was highlighted in the Super Bowl.  JPP could never move inside and rush the passer or hold up against the run.  BG could.   This is a debate that can be had, but given the outcomes... I'll stick with BG over ET and JPP, just like I felt at the time.

Oh yeah, I'm happy with BG as an Eagle but when it comes to the sexy DE stats of sacks, FF, FR and such JPP is far superior.

Mosher said that too on the new pod that dropped. There are some lurking teams

I wouldn’t be surprised. I also don’t think it would be totally out of the realm that it is the 49ers. as they also could look to move on from Jimmy g to recover some of the draft capital they give up in a trade.

This Robinson character says it’s SF.

Hope he's ready to run for his life in Chicago

I am not trying to criticize your point because I agree, they never explicitly said they saw him as a guaranteed NFL starter.

But explain this logic...So according to the eagles Wilson was steal in the late third round? By that logic, 'steal' infers he has somehow dropped. The eagles had a late second round pick to select vinny curry; why didnt they use that on Russell if they really felt he was a 3rd round steal?

Because its easy to say they saw him a certain way after the fact, but in the moment, they didn't believe it enough to make the move.

Same crap as Lurie about how they identify guys but then they go a few picks earlier than they are able to get them.   Part of the draft process is knowing where other teams value guys and not getting caught flat-footed when 'your guy' goes before you.  But, if you constantly are being out maneuvered, maybe you just aren't good at your job.   And if you are so sure about a guy compared to the talent you'll be left to choose from if he's taken out from under you... then its incumbent on you to do everything in your power to get in position to grab that guy.   That's how you land transformative talent.    Of course, the Eagles trade up for guys like Jordan Matthews... Donnel Pumphrey...  and pass on guys like Justin Jefferson and Jeremy Chinn.    They are so good at evaluating talent, those 5 future GMs are just amazing.   Good thing Howie listens to them.

JPP has played 6 less games and has 29 more sacks and 160 more tackles....it's not even close.

Listen, I am not a big BG guy, it has taken me a long to really appreciate him. I wanted JPP over BG as well, I fell in love with the measurables and the potential. But there is no denying that JPP was a boom or bust pick. Earl was the safe pick, and after him it was BG. You cant fault the birds for taking the safe pick, at least we didn't end up with Derrick Morgan.

And btw, everyone missed on Everson Griffen and Dunlap

It’s funny you posted that because literally I was writing in response to aptobird saying San Francisco makes a lot of sense. They probably believe they could trade Jimmy G after they make this move and recover some of their draft capital. Or they can just release him and clear up like 28 million in Cap space. They need a quarterback just like the Colts they’re kind of in the same position that the Colts are but have a higher draft pick so they could potentially move up but their roster is set up like a Super Bowl contender that needs a now quarterback.

Feels like he's cashing in on publicity at this point. Just say what the compensation is or rumored to be instead of something vague.

Chicago fans or Philly fans will be upset?

Wentz would be better off with the Colts , top OL, talented D, add a couple more pieces and they are legit ,if they can fix Wentz.

But would the Colts be better with Carson ? Not willing to give up the two 1st’s says no or show us the money

and your point is what?  I posted their career stats, not just the last few years as AF has.

The fact is, AF claims that BG missed years with injuries and as misused.  JPP has still played in 6 less career games and has 29 more sacks.

I like the splash plays, but I also like the grunt work.   Besides, BG has been a better leader than JPP for a long time.   And I do wonder what his stats would be if he didn't have 3 years under Chip playing OLB.

Which fans will be upset with the compensation? Bears or Eagles?

I actually think the Kansas City Chiefs gameplan to start the game was an issue last night.  they didn’t go to the running game earlier in the game when Tampa Bay was trying to prevent Tyree kill from beating them down the field. You saw CEH get nice yards on the ground once they started giving him touches. Those touches were there earlier in the game they just didn’t wanna do it and tampa knew the chiefs wanted to throw the ball down the field. If KC runs the ball earlier in that game and sticks to it I think you would have seen Tampa move their safeties down to help out with the run and then they would’ve gotten more plays open down the field. But they just kept trying to throw the ball and that played into what Tampa wanted them to do especially with their pass rush. I think Bowles knew reid wouldn’t commit to the run early in the game and had confidence his pass rush and scheme would make the chiefs pay.

Andy Reid not sticking  to the run? Unpossible.

He’s based out of Chicago I believe, so I’m guessing Chicago.

Ah, so nuanced discussion is not a thing with you. Just look at a stat sheet and make your comparisons. Cool.

Something about these Wentz reports have sounded off to me. Every single one uses the specific terminology of "should be done in a couple of days” or "should be done by the end of the week.”

Usually when trades break it’s out of nowhere and it’s "team x/team y in deep discussions for trade” and then a few hours of a day later it’s official. Or the reports are teams are talking. But this "done in a couple days” thing isn’t how reports usually leak out at first. And not only that, but any attempt to maintain the front that "they could still keep him” has apparently disappeared.

Someone is tipping these reporters that "it should be done in a few days” which is totally arbitrary. How do they know a few days? Why not a couple weeks? The exactness of the time frame here I find a little odd.

It makes it feel like the Eagles(Lurie) have mandated trading Wentz by a certain date if they’re this confident a deal will get done by a specific day. And by the time that date arrives, they will just accept the best offer.
