I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Open your eyes Jeff Lurie.

Lumley was a bit Twiggy to me, following Rigg.  Blackman was attractive but I though Rigg fitted the skin tight suit better.   Somehow from the posts in here today, I get the feeling others may be talking some Avengers without Mr. Steed.  Must have missed that one.

Scorsese said those "Avenger” movies weren’t movies at all. I have to agree. I find them unwatchable.

No question but that Diana Rigg was the proverbial pick of the litter but the others had their moments. And I love Lumley in AbFab, though she’s hardly the same character.

There might be a game of chicken going on between PHI and NYJ right now over who blinks first. I'd imagine once either Wentz or Darnold is traded, the asking price for the remaining one goes up because at that point it's...

1. Trade for the one remaining QB available that could still have some potential to be really good.
2. Trade up in the draft and fork over multiple 1st round picks.
3. Take one of the FA QB's and basically forfeit next year.

I definitely can't see Chicago going with option 3. They have to make a move. Same with the Colts. They made their fanbase suffer through Brisset and Rivers over the course of the last two years. They can't keep wasting their window.

I saw this tweet as well but saw no other place where people were talking about it. While I think it's likely true, just not sure 975 reported it.

I think I said that earlier. Not that 97.5 is all that great of a source of back-up

This speaks poorly to both Howie and Carson.

Stand strong Wentz.  Someone has to make Jeff realize that Roseman is trash.

EXACTLY and the  owner is willing to get rid of the guy who got us a 1seed, mvp votes and was a main factor in his only super bowl but is willing to keep the guy who's brought us JJAW, Clayton Thorson, and many many others

What I keep thinking about is the coaching decision. Like a lot of other people, I thought Doug was fired in part to find someone new who could salvage/redeem Carson's value. Now I wonder if Doug didn't have Carson's full backing, in large part due to both agreeing Press Taylor would be the best next OC, and maybe it was Howie who'd lost all patience. Adding to the tension after firing Doug, I wonder if Howie didn't then come off as trying to strongarm Carson into a more team-friendly contract restructuring, triggering all the trade request rumors from Wentz's "camp" (agent). And then lastly, maybe Siri made Howie feel best when he sold him on his ability to maximize Hurts.

Howie is feverishly trying to trade Carson so he doesn't get his weasel arse kicked when the season starts. (No Carson wouldn't do that)

Or they're listening to offers with no intention of giving him away.

Or they are doing what i said 2 nights ago when i told someone they can sit and wait not rush into a deal just cause they are going to deal him. They have til around the league year starts cause it can’t go through til day one. Let it simmer and see what happens. If it’s not that good of a deal right now then you probably aren’t missing out on much to wait

of course the person i wrote that to interpreted that as i said don’t trade him. So reading comp on the boards isn’t great (not talking about you)

That Liberal Elite guy linked the above SI article, which I find more interesting than "Howie not answering the phone." Some source saying Doug was the one who wanted to keep Carson, and the FO wanted to move on.

Some day we're gonna get the whole story. This whole situation is a mess.

At the end of the day none of us (including me) know anything.

So, with Wentz departure imminent, we roll with Hurts in 2021 and look to rebuild. What other veterans should we look to dump? The obvious ones need no discussion -- DJack, Alshon, Ertz, Malik Jackson, McLeod, Curry. I am sure I am forgetting some. Here are some more interesting names to consider:

BG: I love BG. Love him. But he is 33 and has an $18mm cap number for 2021. A pre June 1 trade doesn't save anything, but post June 1 it saves $13mm. I just can't see him being productive when we get back to being competitive. I'd see what I can get -- a 1 year, $13mm rental for a contender is a potential bargain.

Fletch: I would at least see what you could get for him. 2 years left, $33.1mm to an acquirer. Not cheap, but not terribly expensive. Another guy who will be past his prime before we turn it around most likely.

Slay: Not sure we would get anything interesting for him.

Marquise Goodwin: I'd give him away for the savings. Cut if need be.

Javon Hargrave: I think he stays if you move Fletch.

Brooks and Lane: can't see us getting real value with them coming off injuries.

I'm on board with ripping the band aid off completely and resetting at this point.

Roll out an offense with Hurts, Sanders, Reagor, Fulgham, Ward, Hightower, Watkins and Goedert. Line of Mailata, Herbig, Isaac, Brooks and Lane. Take the year to see what you have in Hurts and then reassess.

The most interesting one is Cox. Deforest Buckner got the Niners a first rounder. Cox is still very good. I wouldn’t put it past a team that is close and needs D-Line help to give up some decent capital. Bills, Seahawks, hell... the Rams don’t seem to care about draft picks.

Also... if I could get a 3rd and day 3 pick for Hurts, I’d send him packing. Can’t imagine him making himself more valuable after a 16 game season with average talent and a rookie head coach. JH will make a nice career out of being a high end backup. He’s Tyrod, Keenum, Colt McCoy, etc.

I’d shop Sanders too. I’m guessing Sirianni wants a bruiser. That’s just speculation.

I hate how everything has to be "BREAKING" news now. A crap team signing a RB coach is not breaking news in sports. You would interrupt a broadcast for a team signing a RB coach? Phrase is so overused now

100%. I just think all this stuff about the drama and tension being between Doug and Carson doesn't sound like what we know about either guy. Both Doug and Carson seem to have people willing to go to bat for them in public about their character. On the other hand, there aren't a lot of really positive character witnesses for Howie...

Now they’re saying Doug wanted Wentz? Lol

They really have no idea wtf is happening. I swear this is insane with the amount of guess work done by all of these guys

So now Doug and Carson are cool?  Doug wanted Carson and Howie wanted Carson gone.  Which is why Doug left?    Oh man that is a complete 180

I mean that could be Howie the spin machine. But I really don't know.

They aren't guessing.  They are throwing everything they can think of out there, and then, when it breaks for real, they can claim they knew it all along.

Journalism today is throwing sheet at a wall and seeing which turd slides down the fastest.

Everything is Howie spin machine.  Dude can't draft but he sure can spin a yarn.

I honestly believe it. Hurts was a Howie pick. Doug was forced to make a move during the season and he wanted to go back to him.

The fact Howie still has a job with all the bad contracts and picks shows he sold Lurie on some bull. Part of that bull was obviously covering his backside on that stupid 2nd round pick and saying they should go all in for him. The fact they hired a young coach is going to be the next round of cover because he didn't know how to use him right.

Howie is the problem.
