Also... if I could get a 3rd and day 3 pick for Hurts, I’d send him packing. Can’t imagine him making himself more valuable after a 16 game season with average talent and a rookie head coach. JH will make a nice career out of being a high end backup. He’s Tyrod, Keenum, Colt McCoy, etc. 

 

I’d shop Sanders too. I’m guessing Sirianni wants a bruiser. That’s just speculation. 

If we could get a 1st for Fletch, that's a no -brainer. Not sure we can get it. Same with BG. Frankly, I'd take a 2nd for either one.

I does make more sense this way.  Doug wanted Press who is a Wentz dude to become OC and move forward with Wentz and HOWIE wants to go with Hurts so they clear everyone out.  The way Doug talked about Wentz was in higher regard than what Howie and Jeff did.

I guess I'm in a tiny minority here but I think Hurts has a chance to be a really good player. His arm is good enough and he can work on that, He's obviously mobile, and he doesn't repeat his mistakes endlessly the way Carson did this past season. Hell, he was way better than Carson even coming in cold. And I got sick of Carson backing out of the pocket time after ttime.

I hope that Lurie just doesn't give Howie cart blanche to do whatever he wants and then just smiles and nods at his decisions.  Nor do I want Lurie to be as hands on as Skeletor down in Dallas.  If Lurie has a good relationship with Carson and so far it looks as if Carson is getting along with Sirianni and the O staff (with however much or little contact they've had to this point) then I hope that Lurie will listen more to his HC and O staff than the weasel-snake Howie.  There are some instances where you do want the owner to step in and make a command decision.  The question most of here would have is whether Lurie has the objectivity to do that.

Hard to say what the real truth of this situation is as there's reports coming from all angles and some of them contradict each other.  Amazing what a monkey house clown car ish show clusterF drama-queen of an organization this has turned into.

So what have I missed? Doug wanted Carson, Howie didn’t. Carson will talk to anyone but Howie. This should end well.

SI article confirms what I’ve been saying for about a year now. Howie didn’t draft hurts to be the backup QB. they sold everyone on this theory it was about getting a cheap young backup QB but he saw hurts as a franchise type QB and that’s why they drafted him. They pushed this BS narrative Carson was on board and howie was lying through his teeth as he knew wentz was likely pissed at that fact. Doesn’t excuse Wentz crappy year but puts into perspective Howie is a Fing weasel and spins crap because he is a master manipulator. There’s a reason why former players continue to say it is him. That speaks volumes.
