Here's a chronological timeline of Howie after Wentz signed his big contract:

And Mr. Lurie.......this is why I suck.  But you signed off on everything, so can you please put my strings back in the toy chest?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yes.  Because one mans lust for power and his mismanagement caused this.

I would agree with this fella 100%.  I think it's disgusting that this has gotten to this point.  Cue the national media blaming the entire thing on the fans driving him out of town.

Agreed. If Wentz wants out what are they supposed to do?

He’s better than Hurts now

You don’t keep Wentz because he’s better than Hurts.  You dump both because neither is good enough.

So you believe "those” reports, I see.

What makes thing more weird is the Miles Sanders’ Instagram post over the weekend.

I think the only thing we can safely conclude based on what’s been reported over the last 2 weeks is that our team is a complete disaster. Again.

Of course.  It’s the WHY he wants out that’s important.

I agree with this but whatever happened between Carson and the Eagles is done and so is his career as an Eagle. The Eagles fudged this up in the worst way.

It sucks but here we are and I’ve moved on to being excited about what could be coming back to the Eagles in return.

You can’t dump both and keep your job as the GM. Howie isn’t going to essentially fire himself. He is tying himself to Hurts for better or for worse.

Not let it get to that point

12 plays out of 700+ snaps designed to get our 1st round pick the ball in space so he can do what he does best.  @Iggles_Phan and I talked about this, them asking the WR's to learn all the WR positions (sometimes TE roles) seriously hampers the young kids.

It is really simple... bring in an athletic WR who's dangerous with the ball in his hands on the move... and ask him to run comebacks, hitches, etc where he catches the ball flat footed or coming back to the QB (something he never did this season and lead to some INTs and incompletions)    OR... give him the ball on jet sweeps, flanker screens, crossing patterns, and get him the ball in space.

We saw him on the PR... 1 of 4... and turned it into a TD.   We saw him on a crossing pattern and he gobbled up yardage quickly, even though he doesn't seem to be running fast.

I'm wondering if Reagor was in SF instead of Phi what he might have done last year.   Could he have approached with Aiyuk did?  Maybe... maybe not.  Hopefully Sirianni and company use Reagor properly... even as the PR... crazy thought.

If Wentz was willing, would you give him another shot with an entirely new coaching staff?  I realize he's not, and I actually don't blame him 100% because this organization is a disaster.

Cohen would basically be filler in terms of trade value, but he’d also be a fantastic fit as a passing down back.

I don’t get the angst.

He had one great season, was total garbage the season after, and now is coming off an ACL injury. No thanks

Are you kidding?  Howie could appoint Greg Ward the new franchise QB, and we'd still have 5 GM talents in the room that they've developed in the QB factory.  Howie couldn't fire himself if he dumped kerosene all over his body and lit a match!

Yes.  Because they failed to support him with players around him who would maximize his potential.   When drafting a franchise QB, especially when so heavily invested, its in your best interest to surround that player with talent... not JAGs.

Of course but that doesn’t eliminate the regret

Now that the damage was done, wouldn't it be best to move on from Wentz since he wants out?

But, it is regrettable.

I am hoping that a new HC, new offensive system and (hopefully) some self-evaluation... they will see the need for a bigger back, and that Cohen would be a Scott upgrade.  He would cost only $1.4M on the cap for 2021, and could be dropped at any point after that without any cost.  So, they are not on the hook for anything other than the guaranteed salary for 2021 ($1.4M)  that's peanuts.

I would much rather a pass catching type back in the draft, personally. There's a few that could fit. Cohen regressed in year 3 and then tore his acl is year 4. I have no interest really. For the bigger back, I wouldn't mind Javonte Williams to be our version of Jonathan Taylor.

Howie can.   Mortal GMs can't, but Howie is immortal.

I wish Sirianni could rehire Press Taylor just so he could fire him again. F that guy.
