You dont ask for the moon either , it's a non starter ,you have to be realistic if you wish to be taken seriously .

And just maybe if they don't get what they want they don't care to trade him.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think they have to at this point , sometimes there is no going back , this situation feels like one.

What would you rather have?

-blockbuster for Carson where some team pays 2 1st round picks and a player

-or-

-Howie is fired tomorrow and Carson remains on the team

Imo he is going to Chi. I doubt Chi ups the offer. I think Howie is just trying to figure out what the combination of players and picks should be to make the trade look better than what it really is. He knows he will have to sell it to the fans and media.

He's selling it to Lurie not us.

B, because of the two that's semi realistic.

Consider the source  but none the less

The Eagles asking price, according to one team source, was ridiculous, laughable, and not worth countering. Until they lower their expectations, based on the uncertainty of the player and contract, their initial price will never be obtained.

A month ago I was wondering if the Eagles would have to give a away draft picks to rid themselves of that contract. IMO, getting anything of real value in return will be a good trade.

Normally I would agree but the FO has been unpredictable and I wonder whether Lurie has 2nd thoughts having paid Wentz so much money already.  I think it's a 90% chance he is traded but there's probably some situation where the FO just doesn't make the deal.

Sounds about right.

Nah, they don't have to do anything. This isn't Watson and The Texans

Begone, Howie!

There's a reason why experts try to go first in a negotiation. Anchoring tactics work. So if the Eagles got too aggressive, and came down, they're fine.

I wonder if much of the problem with Wentz is cultural, while he'd never say it, if he's a Christian Fundamentalist (like my in-laws from the Midwest) he can't feel that comfortable in Philly.

He won't fit in Chicago, but could live an hour or two out of town and fit in, while in Indiana, he's par for the course.

So it wouldn't shock me if now that he has a family he wants his kids raised in a more conservative environment.

Howie has presided over two successful reloads and a SB, now what available GM has as good of a track record.

Grigson for example, raised Indy from the depths (2-14) then flatlined and they stayed in 8-8 limbo his last two seasons.

The grass is always greener.

Howie fired. Wentz is more fixable than Howie.

He’s also a gigantic reason they have re-load. You’re right sometimes it isn’t always greener ... but sometimes it really is.

I honestly think there's more to this than we think.  No one really wants to discuss that elephant in the room however.

I thought Denver would be a good fit for him.

It's not about who's available....it's about what Howie has done for this team as of late and not being held accountable one single bit.  You can't fix the problem if you don't get rid of the problem.

Pretty sure there are Christian fundamentalists in Philly. Along with private schools so..................nice  try to make us look like weirdos.

This team would be a hell of a lot better if #2 happens.

But....

You can’t win with a QB who ranks in the mid-30’s (even though there are only 32 teams). Everyone watched Wentz the last few seasons, right? He hasn’t been mediocre. He’s been extraordinarily bad.

Meanwhile, Green Bay won for years with arguably the league’s worst front office.

What?  Denver?  If he lives in Colorado Springs maybe.

as if you know dick about Indiana...

Hypothetically.  If Wentz paid back his bonus to give cap relief, would that help the Eagles take a slightly lower compensation package than they'd expect to get the deal done?  I'm not advocating it, but perhaps it's a way around the "apparent" impasse.  Especially if they are asking for players and picks.
