The media bowing down to Jason Licht to me is hilarious. Yes, he recently has done very well in drafts but before that he was terrible and made terrible decisions. He was arguably one of the worst GM's and likely kept his job because of Arians. This is like our GM situation just the opposite.

Must be nice to have Tom Brady so you become a great GM.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I am at home this week taking care of my wife after a major surgery.  Turned on ESPN for some background noise, took 5 minutes to realize why I don’t watch a lot of ESPN.

Marcus Spears says that Brady winning a Super Bowl at 43 is the most impressive win by a QB ever.  Debatable, but certainly not an over the top opinion.

Then the idiot Max Kellerman responds the Eli’s two wins over Brady are the most impressive wins by a QB in history.  What an idiot.

Yeah, I stopped watching all those shows including pre-game shows years ago. The talk shows are the absolute worst. Movies and sporting events, basically all I watch.

Hope wife is recovering well.

To be fair , as great as tom is, he came to a loaded team.

Yeah, that was one of the most ridiculous "articles" I have read. I think it's time for Howie to go, but the idea he is some league wide laughingstock is insane. Also, the Trubisky/Wentz comparison is stupid. Mitch has never approaches Wentz's level of play prior to 2020.

I wouldn’t of use the term laughingstock. I would’ve use the term teams are balking at the price the Eagles have set in their minds for Carson Wentz.

In fairness the guy saw his shot and took it. Brady (who I thought was done) Gronk, Brown, Fournette (who I would have loved to have) added what was needed to push them over the top.

I'm not sure what the ploy would be and who was leaking the information. We don't know what has been offered if anything.  I think Wentz is going to get traded and the question is whether he fetches less than a 1st round pick.  I'm unsure how leaking to the media that a first round pick is involved generates interest from other teams.  I mean Ballard and Pace aren't waiting on tweets from a reporter to know what they want to offer for Wentz. It's not like the GM for Carolina is thinking let me see what Schefter thinks the Eagles get in compensation before I call Howie.  So what does leaking to the media do? It helps maintain a relationship with reporters when you want something reported.  If the team is feeding BS to the reporters, it doesn't help the relationship.  It could help the relationship with the player if that relationship is strained. I think that's what you have going on in Texas where they want to keep Watson.  I don't think that's what is going on with Wentz and the Eagles.

Pretty sure the 1st round pick part was likely accurate.  The "multiple 1st round" picks part might be the part that may be off.  (Or likely the Eagles asking price vs what they have been offered)

You view a house, real estate agents tell you there are other buyers prepared to make an offer.  No different here.

I find it a lot easier to believe that scenario than that Howie was offered a 1 and change, but is holding out for more.

It's such a mess

After years of being bad to build it. I don’t disagree the fact of the matter was Jameis Winston help that team to the point where they always had good draft picks so they were able to consistently add talent because Jameis Winston would lose them games. I thought at the end of 2019 that team would’ve been a playoff team if they just had a competent quarterback. They would’ve won at least nine or 10 games but winston would give teams at least 10-14 points with his turnovers. That’s actually why I think Tom Brady decided to go there was because they had a good defense in place. And he was able to bring on gronk, fournette (later in the offseason)and AB to Goodwin and Evans. Plus i thought they got a steak with wirfs where they were picking

I think it's the same thing with what happened with Peyton. Players wanted to play with him. I think there was 2 or 3 that went to Bucs because of Brady. Could have been more though

You guys remember when Howie took that shot and all the moves worked out? Now we have this mess.

Hurts got on the field and played, though.  He clearly showed he’s a solid #2 but very pedestrian #1.  A clear case can be made that he played as poorly or worse than Wentz did

Considering that he was a rookie and Wentz was in his fifth year it would be stupifying if Wentz wasn’t better. More to the point, Wentz was getting worse and Hurts was getting better.

If both were at the top of their game there’s no doubt Wentz would be better. To me it’s a simple question: will Wentz get better here?

My expectation is that he will not. It is an indictment of the Eagles that it has come to this, a series of disastrously wrong moves, with ample blame to be shared. Should Howie be fired? Probably, unless he has a great off-season. Will he be? I don’t know.

I thought they’d win 9-10 games and make the playoffs. I didn’t think he was shot but i didn’t think he was the same guy he was 2-3 years ago either. I did think their defense was being overrated entering the year. Which they kind of were at the beginning of the year. I thought the end of 2019 they were actually kind of fortunate do you not have more statistics put on them because Jameis Winston was giving team short fields but they added some nice pieces in the draft and some of the guys developed. I didn’t see them winning a super bowl especially not in his first year. Really  Think it was more Tom Brady rather be in Tampa Bay then go to Los Angeles and play for the chargers. That was the other option he had in free agency.

They don't. They see Howie as a good GM, given he's won a SB and been to the playoffs 3 times in the past 4 years. If he got fired, he'd get another GM job.

Not sure that is true anymore.  I think his reputation has been up and down, and lately more down.  The rest of the league will look at what has happened here since 2017, and unlike his boss will actually hold him accountable.

I think he would get a job in the front office of another team, but would not step into another GM job.

A sizable portion of this fan base is f'ing moronic and the SB made no difference whatsoever

Why does Philly hate all of its sports stars?  Its a mental health problem Im guessing.  Theres a reason Mike Schmidt had his famous saying about the "thrill of victory..."

At this point I hope Wentz comes back solely to make these people crazy.  Go do something else if you cant even root for your own team without hating everyone and being a miserable F

Gets old quite frankly

Fournette.   AB, gronk  ,and I'm sure tom will want all 3 back and get his way.

Starting to hear more and more about Matt Ryan and

Howie botched this thing so bad I doubt the Colts or Bears are offering anything worth trading for.  I’m thinking it’s worse than expected or what’s being reported. It could be 2rounders or something.

All this could have been avoided by firing one guy.

So he's not getting it from any team or anything but just radio shows

Pretty sure we can ignore his tweets from now on

Howie sucks.  This much cannot be argued against.

But.

Let's say you're a team like the Colts, Bears, Saints, Patriots, etc. that desperately need a QB and range from 15th to 28th.  Let's further say that they'd be interested in trading up  for one of Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Zach Wilson.  Right now we'd have to assume they'd have to trade up in front of us to have a shot - two of those QB's will most likely be top 3 picks.

Look at the price it would take for any of those teams to make a big move like that.  There is no reason in the world Howie shouldn't be sticking around whatever that price is.  Maybe you knock a little bit off given Wentz's contract and all, but there is no way in hell he should be taking anything too far off of what that package would be.

Now I'm sure too that Howie is driving the price up stupidly high to save his ass and look better.  We won't be getting the moon and stars for Wentz, but garbage like Foles/Cohen/1st is an insult.

Nah.  Just a part of the negotiation process, imo.  There could have been some offers but not quite what the Eagles wanted.  Most recently, it seems that the Wentz camp is leaking the fact that he prefers Indy which in turn, will make the Indy camp act as if they have "other options" in order to pressure the Eagles to go with their offer, etc.  Just a guess.
