I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I can't think of a situation where the rumors/reports were this strong and the player wasn't moved. Can anyone?

If Wentz is still on this roster when his bonus kicks in, the whole organization should be dismantled.

If it was just McClane reporting it, (Or just one source)  I wouldn't take it as seriously but the fact that Schefter, Rapoport and just about every other serious NFL reporter are basically saying the same thing, points to the rumor having truth to it, imo.   Those guys do not risk their careers and credibility by putting "false information" out there.

I never said he didn’t want out. Also mclane puts whatever he wants out cause he can hide behind his anonymous source he doesn’t have to release. That doesn’t mean it isn’t true what he is saying however he probably also gets a lot of BS things he just throws out there too

However i am just saying using mclane as the gospel lately hasn’t been accurate. He said reich didn’t want wentz and the colts didn’t either. So he puts a lot of things out there which haven’t exactly held up the course of time nor things that can be refuted if he says "source told me” like he did with reich wentz news

He’s gonna get moved. It might not be as close as those believed. However i still don’t use mclane to prove a point. Literally last week he stated the colts didn’t want wentz and reich didn’t want anything to do with him. He throws a lot of stuff out there he hears and I’m guessing some of it is just frankly BS

Agree. If Wentz somehow stays, then Howie is gone and Hurts is traded. No chance of that happening, IMO. But firing Howie is probably the only way to placate Wentz, and you have to jettison Hurts in order to avoid locker room drama.

For what it's worth -- I'd fire Howie and trade Hurts.

So we can’t even say at least we aren’t Houston anymore.

We never had a stud WR to trade away for a bag of chips and busted old RB.

I think the entire "I'm not sure Reich would want him" comment came from someone within the Eagles not from the Colts.   And those comments came weeks ago, before any sort of Wentz trade rumors surfaced.

Yeah I’m guaranteeing wentz would be fine playing here if they got rid of howie. I think wentz was likely not thrilled with Doug but i do think he likely would’ve managed that relationship. I think this is more about howie and not feeling like the organization was behind him I’ve heard caplan and mosher state that a million times. Kind of feels like it goes back to howie

Bro, we don't trade stud WRs. We just cut them (TO, DJax).

To be fair, TO gave us no options.

So now you know that it came from the eagles? Cause i don’t remember him saying an eagles source told him.  You can spin it anyway you like HE WAS WRONG. End discussion he got it wrong and badly cause everyone knew that was BS

Big QB news

Yeah, me neither

This portion is just not correct; Hurts was steadily getting worse over his 4-game audition.  The more film the opponent got on him, the worse he got.  He didn’t even look passable as a starting QB vs DAL or WFT.

To answer the simple question:  get the OL healthy, dump Alshon and D-Jax, go forward with a game plan where Wentz throws 30-34 times instead of 38-46 times and yes, Wentz will be demonstrably better

Washington totally dominated us but the two prior games Hurts threw for over 300 yards and in fact threw for progressively more yards in each of his four prior games. Meanwhile, Carson threw for 300+ once all year, And Hurts ran forward when he left the pocket rather than leaking out the back.. As for your second paragraph, any QB would do better under the conditions you posit.

To reiterate what I said before, I think Wentz at his best is better than Hurts at his best, no doubt. Can we get that from him? Of that I have doubts. I think we wrecked him, not that he is blameless. Somewhere else he may well regain his mojo. Here? I have my doubts.

Carson's best scenario is to reunite with Frank Reich, I think.

Because there was no way they couldn't have just paid him more money.

This much, no. But I think being a QB as well as everything else surrounding this ish show of a situation certainly is magnifying it. OBJ and PP seems to have trade rumors revolve around them every season that turn out to be nothing, but again, not to this extent.

So then the Eagles would have:

- Fired the head coach

- Fired the GM

- Traded away a rookie QB, who they spent a 2nd round pick on.

Just to appease Wentz.

I've got news for you.  The Patriots didn't do that when they drafted Garoppolo and there were rumors that Brady wasn't happy with the situation.  And Brady is considered the greatest QB of all time.  So you expect the Eagles to do that for Wentz?

Might as well make Wentz the new GM if that happens.

That also reminds me of something that was recently stated by an anonymous player.  He basically said, "It's ok to be a Dick.  To have that attitude and win.  The rest of the players will put up with it.  You have guys like Brady, Rogers, etc and they have similar types of attitudes.  But they win.  What has Wentz done?"

Could Wentz salvage his career here in Philadelphia? I think it's possible but it needs to start with him.  He needs to accept the fact that Sirianni is his new head coach and that Jalen Hurts could potentially start if he outperforms Wentz.  Anything less is a non-starter for me if I'm the Eagles' brass.

Reporters sure think highly of the influence they have over NFL front offices.

i know, talk about being in denial  heck, even if he doesnt get traded, they arent going play him, he's probably going to play in another league with us stuck paying him. one way or another, he's not going to be on this roster.

I dont know when they originally started but that idea was still being pedaled around just last week as fact.

If we believe every report that comes out ther was the report he talks to sirianni and lurie. Just not howie. So i don’t think sirianni being the coach is an issue

The NFL catches up to things and that includes Howie. He made some trades and now people aren't falling for his bull anymore.

No, not from the Eagles themselves but someone linked to the Eagles side of it.  I think the quote was something like, "Someone close to the situation is not sure Reich would take him."  Which was already a rather "weak" statement to begin with.   Basically someone saying, "Yeah, I don't know if Reich would take him".  Even the source is saying "they're not sure".

Yep. And, Howie is trying to get his original value back for Wentz and that just isn't going to happen...not after Wentz's historic decline last year.  Also, I think Howie is using the Rams' deal for Stafford as a guideline and the Rams clearly overpaid significantly and most other GMs aren't going to be as stupid.  Plus, Howie probably developed an ego for getting a 1st for Sam Bradford and thinks he can get a huge haul for Wentz. But, most GMs are not going to fall for that, especially when there are only a few teams or less bidding.
