I was just wondering...  Is the reason the QB trade market isn't moving because after the Stafford trade, no one wants to set the market and overpay like the Rams did?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Drops happen , haeg dropped a td pass for bucs...part of the game

First no one said they don’t.

second it was in response to mahomes choked. Do you think mahomes choked? I firmly believe there were way more reasons than mahomes like his oline was awful to the point he ran for 500 yards to avoid pressure, guys had drops they normally routinely catch, their defense committed penalty after penalty, their punter shanking multiple punts giving the bucs excellent field position and reid refusing to run the ball when the bucs were daring them too and ceh ran well. I could name things before i get to mahomes being the one who choked.

You really would draft Pitts at 6 when we have Goedert finally ready to take over the #1 TE slot?

I don't want to be on the EMB if we draft Pitts at 6.

Dude, stop. That never happens!

No it doesn’t. Stop.

I used to a butcher shop/game cuter/ barbecue joint in Fulshear, TX.  They would butcher the pig and skin it with a thin layer of meat, then cure is like you would bacon in their smokehouse and then fry up the chicharrones.  Some they cure with their hot rub.  Both regular and hot were awesome.  Taste was like bacon almost.  A little harder than just the skin but much tastier.  Their hot rub is so good.  They don’t do the pork rinds anymore but their jerky is still the best jerky I have ever had including smoking my own.  I grew up on Cajun food and Tex Mex.  Deep fried chittlins and chicharrones  are good eating, if done right   Store bought pork rinds are trash.

My view on chocolate is every once in a blue moon a square of dark chocolate with a glass of a good cab or meritage.  Chocolate is best combined with other tastes, for me.

I think the issue is that between the top two QB's on the market, Wentz and Watson...Wentz is expected to fetch slightly less than Stafford and Watson is expected to fetch more.  So if you're a team trying to work a trade, that's a pretty big swing between the two top QB's.

This is strictly my opinion but I'm guessing the Bears offered a 1st round pick and a few players but the Colts have yet to even match their offer...so the waiting game continues.  The thing is, if the Colts don't step up to the plate soon, the Eagles will just go with the Bears' offer, imo.

Speaking of Marcus Mariota, he's the exact type of young, high pedigree reclamation project we should bring in to compete w/Hurts.  It's possible he levels up ala the guy who replaced him in Tennessee Ryan Tannehill.

No - Mariota is Mark Sanchez with more mobility.

My dad who's never ever missed a Flyers game, or national hockey league game thats on TV watched the pandering the NHL did in the bubble and he hasnt watched since.

It's a weird concept that people turn on sports to watch sports and not to hear or tried to be swayed by politics.

What did the NHL do in the bubble? My interest in hockey has pretty much died in the past decade.  But I do remember the NHL getting flack because they didn't put Black Lives Matter on the ice or some nonsense.

Mahomes didn't choke, but he did show that QBs are overrated, it's a team game.

The OL, not the QB, is the key to any offense, if you have a top OL, you're gonna "create" stars, conversely, if you can't block, a lot of players will struggle (except Barry Sanders).

Now the value of an OL varies from QB to QB, less valuable for a Russell Wilson who depends on the chaos of a play breaking down to create big plays, more important for a Brady who is clocked with a sundial these days and is best when he sits in a clean pocket and gets into a rhythm. But even with a pocket QB, if you run a quick hit offense like the Patriots from 2000-2004, where it was primarily short passes to quick WRs who got open quickly or the classic WCO, pass blocking is less important, if you want a deep strike offense with multiple deep routes like Doug was running last year, it's vital b/c those slow developing plays need 4+ seconds.

Reich has a system in Indy which gets the ball out quickly, lot's of dump offs to backs, screens, crossing routes, etc. Spread the field then open gaps to hit intermediate throws. I think Wentz/DeSean corrupted Doug, the temptation when you saw that was geez, we can hit a few 50 yard passes a game - DeSean was still special when he played the last two years, but you can't draft a fast guy and expect the next DeSean, he not only had speed but improved as a route runner as he aged. It's boring to run a ball control offense, AR fell in love with the deep pass when he first got DeSean, and with Hill in KC, but that's the first thing good defenses take from you.

I think Sirianni can make his version of the Indy offense work with Hurts, he won't ask Hurts to sit in the pocket and throw it 50 yards on the fly, and Hurts showed he can throw a nice pass 30 yards, which still requires 4 seconds (takes time for WRs to get downfield from a standing start with pads and a CB who can press them). Most throws will take no more than 3 seconds, and there will be guys coming open faster. Siri will also run the ball on a regular basis, and fixing the screen game will be a priority - something that a stable OL will really help. He could make it work with Wentz, but Wentz, whether he's here or in Indy, would have to stop playing hero ball, looking to make the big play.

I think it depends on who else is on the board.  I mean Pitts could be a dominant player.  I wouldn't have a problem if he's the pick.

Literally you said he choked. And now it’s he didn’t. I get what you are saying after i think it’s just disingenuous what you said originally. Mahomes made some crazy plays that if guys just catch the ball it’s a much different game.

Not legit if he doesn’t include Bobby Hoying or AJ Feely. Not every QB climbs the ladder.

Definitely using a cat filter for my next hearing.

Sam Bradford has a much better arm and technique than Carson, but the situation is very similar to when the Eagles had to bargain for him in a trade. Carson is doing the Eagles just like Bradford did the Rams, laughing all the way to the bank. Carson has better arm strength than Tim Tebow, but I see that MO developing as well. I'm waiting for Carson to make the rightwing politico-religious argument that 'the Jews(Eagles FO) screwed me.' Maybe he can become the rightwing Colin Kaepernick. But then, that WOULD be Tim Tebow.

I was poking fun at all the people who told me Mahomes was already a HOF QB. Seemed to have hit a nerve.

QBs get too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose.

Ummm most of us told you he was proven already. Which he has and is. Because he has got beat now 2 times in their last 29 games doesn’t change that. But keep on coming with hot takes that seems to be the route to go.

Goedert is a TE, Pitts is a H-back, that's the combination you use in a typical 12 formation. The TE is primarily a blocker, but that allows him to often slip out uncovered b/c the defense is more focused on the run with a TE in-line and LBs will over commit and lose the TE. That's how Celek made a living.

An H-back is really a big possession WR who can block LBs in the run game, forcing teams out of the nickel against the 12, and getting the H-back lined up against LBs and SSs which is usually a gross mismatch in coverage. Get an H-back on a nickel back on an off tackle run and you'll be scraping the CB off the grass.

If Pitts is as good a route runner and hands catcher as advertised (I have no opinion), then he'll be a nightmare for defenses in the Indy scheme, and the added benefit is a 6'4 240 receiver is a tad bit harder to cover in the red zone - fast WRs have the most value between the 20s, but big targets with athleticism rule in the red zone.
