I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

But it wasn't dismal, mediocre since 2016 yes, but also 10 picks in two years and only 1st rd pick does make your drafting look worse.

Eagles may have 10+ starters next year out of his drafts from 2016-2020:

Hurts/Wentz at QB, Sanders RB, Reagor WR, Goedert TE, Dillard, Mailata, Seumalo, maybe Driscoll OL,

Barnett, maybe Sweat at DE, maybe Bradley/Taylor at WLB, maybe Mills, Wallace DB

Draft picks possibly starting for other teams next year:  [Wentz], Vaitai, Jones, Douglas

Hurts/wentz-fine

sanders— fine

reagor— starting by default because we don’t have anyone else and spent a first on him. he really showed little to justify he should be a starter as a rookie. Maybe he is a long term but that’s yet to be proven

goedert— fine

dillatd/mailata— both aren’t starting as lane is at RT. So one is a bench player and the other starts. Both aren’t starting unless injury occurs and i don’t consider that being a bonafide starter. So one not both

seumalo—fine

Driscoll— backup as lane, Brooks, seumalo are starting. Only a starter of kelce retires otherwise backup. Even so they might draft someone or sign someone who starts over him

Barnett— might not even be here so there’s that. I’ll even give you him

sweat— is a rotational DE. He might not even hold up as a starter. That’s not proven as full time starter

Bradley/Taylor— only starting cause your lb unit is so atrocious. Any other team they are backups or PS

mills— FA so again might not be back

Wallace— couldn’t even get on the field as a rookie but we are now anointing him as a starter.

no one cares if guys start elsewhere that doesn’t help the eagles. Also vaitai shouldn’t be starting. Lions made a mistake giving him that deal. and they might have just been a bad scheme fit drafted by howie aka douglas. Jones starts due to a horrific jags secondary and guess what? He got hurt again

so you really have just 6 legitimate starters and 1 who may be here. 2 by default not drafting well haven’t actually proven worthy to be a nfl caliber starter. There’s a chance if/when mills, JJAW, Gerry, wentz, pryor are cut or leave only 15 of 36 draft picks remain on this roster from 2016 and some are not that good

I really hope we aren't seeing the NFL turn in to the NBA.

Meh - Wilson's comments were nothing radical.  I mean he wants to be involved in helping the team with personnel decisions.  There's nothing new about that comment.  He also said he wants to get hit less and get sacked less.  He also said part of that was on him.  I mean do we just want athletes to say nothing or should they answer questions they are asked.

Pretty sure the deal would be done by now if that was offered

Just because it hasn't been offered, doesn't mean that's not what it might end up to be.

Throw in a couple later round picks, say a 5th and 6th, we need numbers as well as quality in the next two drafts.

Well, yea. I was just saying if it was offered, it would probably be done by now.

Honestly, I want players to talk to the organizations and keep that crap in house.

Just trade Wentz, #6, and a conditional 2nd next year and move up to grab the one QB that will improve this team from day 1. Dreams come true sometimes.

But which one. Odds are two of the three top QBs will be worse than Wentz.

Maybe part of the reason he wants out has to do with that.

I was referring to #1 overall for TLaw

6 and a conditional  wont get you to first overall

Good luck trying to get the jags to accept that deal

This is the dumb move I thought they would do anyway. Waste alot of draft capital on a treadmill like move.

Both are starter quality, Dillard would have started at LT, and if Lane is healthy, he's the best RT in the NFL, so if you're going to knock a pick for starting by default, credit a pick for being starter quality but blocked by a great player.

Same with Driscoll, he was a decent RT, though more suited to OG, he's got solid technique, good size and athleticism, he could start for most teams. Just a matter of time before he starts here, meanwhile Pryor has started, but we know he's not starter material.

Most LBs drafted after the 2nd rd don't start as rookies, but both have the athleticism to have a shot this season or next. Why I say "maybe."

Still could start for most cover 2 teams, you judge a draft pick by the player, not the opportunity

That's why he's in the "maybe" category, will probably end up starting somewhere, does he fit Gannon's scheme?

If you're judging drafting, starting elsewhere does matter, Schwartz had a real problem developing DBs, and probably communicating what he wanted to the personnel people. I think Gannon is more focused and certainly better at developing DBs. Long list of DBs who went elsewhere and succeeded. Vaitai is starter quality, not top end, but he was a 5th rd pick.

Keeping Wentz and getting him the talent he needs to succeed will be difficult.

Not because we have no cap room and Howie Roseman sucks at drafting. Because it's hard to find 15 foot human beings who Wentz won't be able to overthrow.

Plus Wentz. Who knows, crazier things have happened.

Dillard was the starter at LT by default and was NOT having a good camp before his injury.  He's shown nothing to say he is the answer at LT.  We LUCKED in to Mailata with all of the other injuries.  If the Eagles had their way he wouldn't have seen the field last year.

What on Earth are you smoking that tells you Driscoll could start at guard for most NFL teams?

If it weren't for Hurts and Taylor, Wallace would be the biggest bust of the draft.  He showed nothing that tells me he should have any role in 2021 outside of the fact that they need someone to play.
