I listened to an interview with Zangaro on SiriusXM last night and he used good phrasing when he said the Wentz situation comes down to a "mutual breakup”; said he believes both sides are somewhat motivated to move on.

He also believes it’s much more likely the Bears than Colts.  Ballard won’t move off his original offer very much, while Pace and Nagy are both in "win now or get fired” mode.

If I had to lay odds, I think the final trade package will be Wentz (+ Ertz?) in exchange for #20, a 2021 3rd, 2022 3rd, Foles, and a young player from the current Bears roster (won’t be Smith or Johnson, sadly)

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Funny you mention that.  I always felt that the movie was just to advertise the Eagles and their new uniforms.  I mean what an absolute horrible movie.

No way, that's a classic. Love the scene where he beats the huge lineman in a wing eating contest. Oscar worthy stuff right there.

I’d forgive him in a heartbeat....

That's the kind of splash you always expect from Howie.

I don't think he'd even be able to mortgage Eagles future and trade away all of the talent to get the #1 pick

Jags aren't giving up that pick after Jets just gave it away like that

Yay.. splashes.   Howie likes splash.  Too bad he can't come up with some substance.

Crazy things happen in the draft.  Jags can choose a different QB, or a different position altogether. You never know.

Anyone know the Vegas odds on them not drafting Trevor?

Baker Mayfield is a perfect example. Many/Most were quite shocked he went number 1

I thought Meyer came out of retirement specifically for Lawrence?

He did , no chance he trades that pick

Shad Khan wants Trevor Lawrence. He's all but said Lawrence will be the pick already.

Nothing wrong with Eagles doing their due diligence. You never know what can happen between now and the draft.  Maybe an Embiid situation occurs where a serious injury is discovered a week before the draft.  Maybe a few nights before the draft a warrant is put out for his arrest for him visiting a rub and tug massage parlor where they have him on camera and the girls are sex slaves.  Maybe he is named a person of interest in a murder investigation right before the draft.  Maybe as the draft starts video hits the internet of him wearing some bong mask but smoking crack or something instead of the now mostly legal pot.  Maybe it comes out some girlfriend of his that died of cancer turned out to not only be completely fake but some other guy catfishing him.

As Kevin Garnett once said, anything is possible. Better this FO scout a player that can drop to them than Howie be caught with his pants on the ground again when someone like Dillard drops to him and they hadn't done any pre-draft work on him.

Not sure, but if I bet $5 on it, I'm looking forward to my new mansion.

The Eagles are going to win about 3 games this year and will be in the market for a franchise QB next year.  Scouting Lawrence now gives them a good benchmark.

Your insight is inspiring.

How is there still so many that haven’t come to terms? Like will a 12 step be needed in the aftermath?

You're losing me here.  Usually I agree with everything you post, but what makes you trust their benchmark for scouting QBs?  I personally think Lawrence is overrated, but even if he is not, why would you trust this idiot scouting department to evaluate the talent?  They're the same ones that decided that Hurts was worth the 53rd pick, and he can't even throw a football like a professional.

JFC. Is it September yet.

IF the reports are true that the best offer the Eagles have gotten was two 2nd round picks it makes a lot of sense why the deal hasn't been done yet. I have been of the belief for a while that if they got an offer of a 1st round pick the deal would already be done by now. If I'm Howie I'm pretty confident I can always circle back to someone at some point who would give up two 2nd's between now and March. Two late 2nd round picks from the Colts isn't something I would be in any hurry to do either, unless the second 2nd rounder was a conditional pick in 2022 that could become a first if the Colts make the playoffs or something like that.

Personally, I can’t blame the scouting department when there is an idiot making the final call.

Eagles should be an attractive landing spot for UDFAs this year.

Watch.

I can't see it. How many draft picks would we need to give up to get to #1?  We need those picks.

Agents will definitely steer UDFAs and SFAs here, jobs are for the taking.

It will also help to have coaches with track records of working with marginal talent, who can help the scouts identify which ones they think they can coach up.

Howie has always done a good job of finding these kinds of players, but they're also the ones that need the most coaching for obvious reasons (if they were finished products, they'd get drafted).
