I'm a little surprised that the Saints haven't been brought up more in this QB drama. They've said that Winston is "in the driver's seat" to take the QB position but I can't imagine anyone having that much faith in the dude who threw 30 picks in his most recent action.  And that's a pretty solid supporting overall team.

Seems like something they should involved in some of these QB trade talks unless I'm missing something?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Their cap situation is somehow worse than the Eagles

I can't see it. How many draft picks would we need to give up to get to #1?  We need those picks.

maybe you dont need to get to 1.  Maybe Carson Wentz in the package helps cut down on outgoing draft compensation.

Was reading a little bit from the Lions’ assistant coaches press conferences, and Anthony Lynn said something that might be of interest regarding Steichen. As HC, he said he called about a third of the plays over the past four years. That might help explain some of the Chargers’ frustrating playcalling, particularly way too many first and 10 run plays.

Poor Saints. They actually have good young players to try to re-sign. What’s that like?

You're losing me here.  Usually I agree with everything you post, but what makes you trust their benchmark for scouting QBs?  I personally think Lawrence is overrated, but even if he is not, why would you trust this idiot scouting department to evaluate the talent?  They're the same ones that decided that Hurts was worth the 53rd pick, and he can't even throw a football like a professional.

Jeremy Chin was the scouts pick, just like Metcalf was a year earlier. Hurts was 3rd rounder at the earliest on most NFL teams, which is why all of them couldn’t believe the Eagles took Hurts, especially so soon after giving Wentz that contract.
IDGAF what anyone says, if your neck is wrecked, this isn’t happening

I'm not sure I'd move up to #1 anyway for Lawrence.  Dont think he's worth it.

Yikes, that's almost impressive

I think the more important aspect of the Trevor Lawrence news is that it signals to Carson and the world that he is no longer seen by the organization as the Eagles franchise QB.

Although I think the argument can me made that the Eagles made this point clear when they drafted Hurts but I think this has been the most definitive signal to date. And it certainly means that there is no chance Carson will want to play here again.

Correct.

Which is also why I don't it is a lock that Jacksonville takes him at 1.

I think people read too much into everything.

Eagles are going to scout everyone this year, when you pick at #6, a lot of options are open to you. It's that simple, they'll do their homework.

As far as Wentz, I think they'd like to trade him to Indy for his sake but they're not going to give him away, they expect Indy to match other legitimate offers.

But they're also not burning bridges. Bringing back Wentz is an option if they don't get a legitimate offer, and I'm sure he's been told that, one reason for him to keep quiet and not screw up a deal. It's no big deal to keep him around until September, waiting for a better deal, if the current offers are so low as to be meh.

Since this is a dull period with no news, I'll throw out a random hypothetical.

If you had your choice of trading Wentz to the Colts/Bears for one 1st rounder or trading him to the division rival WFT for two 1st rounders, what would you pick?

It kind of makes sense because they went all in on the last two years of Drew Brees but on the same hand they went ALL IN. Depending where you look Eagles are $40-$45M over but Saints are $70-$75M over. With less players signed. They just simply can’t take on a big money QB contract. I don’t think Winston gives them much of a chance for anything besides mediocrity. Probably should just roll with Hill as the starter and try to get a top pick next year.

Your hypothetical argues against itself.  The first rule in the NFL is to win your division; if your division rival values your QB highly enough to offer you two first round picks for him, you cannot solve your rival’s most pressing need.  If they win the trade you are limiting your ceiling to being a wildcard team for the foreseeable future.

At his age, Colts preferably then Bears.

I don’t think so either, these college guys believe they invented football, like Kelly, Saban, Petrino, Spurrier, J Johnson and Switzer. Kotite could of won a SB with that team, anyway Meyer may want the draft picks, but Khan wants to make the Jaguars a global brand and Lawrence gives him that more than any other QB in the draft. Khan is likely the only reason Meyer does take that bird face hippie.

I would send him to WFT for two first rounders. If I'm willing to trade him in general, it means I'm confident he won't play like a franchise QB again, so I might as well ship him to a division rival and take two of their 1s.

Colts or Bears for one first rounder.  This isn't a way past his prime McNabb situation.

i swear if foles played like this it would the total opposite, media and fans that dont like foles would hammering on howie's twitter account, trade him, get him out, get the best offer, he's not fixable. it just shows how it's not about football, it's about liking a player's self image. dont like foles he plays like crap trade him, love wentz plays like crap dont trade him, he's fixable.

The mindset and I’m of that is W #2 pick, 29 and $34 mil under the bridge and relatively speaking teams trying to get him for what seems lottery ticket price. Either they have a fair amount of doubt or they think they have leverage. Hopefully there hasn’t been any under the table tampering by them or Wentz. Anyways might as well play that ticket, what the hell. Let Reich Lite take a shot

Send him to Washington in a heartbeat.  We get another 1st that he’ll ensure is good by failing to perform there just like he did here.

I'd be fine with Sewell or Slater at 6. Sewell being the preference. However, I slide them immediately into LG unless Brooks isn't playing, then they go to RG. I want this o-line top three again. This would be like when the Colts drafted Nelson.

I agree with OL since Offense is given the benefit of the doubt in the NFL and the OL is where it all starts on that side of the ball not to mention it was our achilles heel in 2020. I think trading back is the smart move with C and G the more immediate concerns. If the talent doesn’t warrant it BPA including any of the T’s

that’s a good but tough one. I’m taking Colts/Bears. Change of scenery can do wonders for a player, I don’t want to have to take the chance of him rebounding & then facing him twice a year. Especially with Howie drafting. I’d rather ship him to AFC where we’d only see him once every like 4 years if he does bounce back.

This is the fate we deserve if Howie trades him after one bad season

I don't blame him at all for not posting here, it's a clown show with some of these guys.

If wentz gets traded I truly hope he Fing reams us every time we play him as a reminder to all these idiots who are begging for him to be gone. "BuT wUt iF itS tEH sUPeR boWlzzZ??" if they trade wentz they aren't getting to the playoffs any time soon let alone a super bowl, especially if they keep howie around.

So Wentz > Eagles ... OK. Start WMB, probably never going to see anything close to the 2017 Wentz again so just be ready to let it go, unfortunate

Wentz Washers one 1st rounder

Wentz Whiners two 1st rounders
